Hi, would anyone could tell me the best way to go from Lviv (Ukraine) to Soroca? I see that the train doesn't go there so I don't know if I can get off in the train which makes Lvov-Chisinau and then take a bus somewhere

I'd like to see something in Northern Moldova since the trip from Lviv to Chisinau is really long and I prefer not to waste a whole day in the train.

Can anyone inform me about latest border regulations/ problems to be expected to cross from Moldova into Tiraspol. We ( EU citizens ) intend to visit Tiraspol by the end of april and only stay for a day.

Can anybody tell me if trains and buses to Transnistria are currently running? If so, what is the best way to get from Chisinau to Tiraspol and then on to Odesa? Also should I expect to pay any 'extras' for entering and exiting the region?

I am thinking of travelling by train from Kiev to Chisinau but am concerned about crossing the border in Transdniestria as I have heard bad stories about this.

I am an asian female travelling alone, I have a British passport and do not require a visa to enter/exit Ukraine or Moldova.

Myself and my Wife and 11 month old baby are arriving in Bucharest on Jan 11 2008. We are then travelling to Moldova. We arrive at about 3pm. Which is the best to get to Khisinau? By Train? By Bus? or Car? Is it possible for a car to take us to Moldova? If so how much will cost?

My wife has Modovan passport with a U.S.A. Green card. I'm a USA citizen with US passport. What will I need to do when stopping with the bus at Transnistria border. Do I need to get a paper and have it stamp and at what cost. We will be taking the 11:45 daytime bus to Chisinau.We have been trying to get thru to Trans. customs and find out exactly what we must do but no luck so far because we woulf like to print it out and take with us in case they try to rip us of.

I am 25 year old African-American interested in traveling to Moldova or somewhere in Eastern Europe. Is it safe?

1.Is it possible to enter Transnistria with a car rented in Moldova? In case some Moldovan car rental companies does not permit entrance of that region then do you know which ones allow that?

2.How much time would you have to wait on border when entering and leaving Transnistria with a rented or private car (are there long queues and procedures?)?

Wondering if anyone knows when the bus from Odessa typically arrives in Chisinau and the general length of the journey? Also, what time the bus from Chisinau departs for Odessa. Thank you.

Hallo. I'm planning a visit to Transdniestria next August, and I'd like to know how could I possibly fill up the papers at the border not knowing a word of Moldovian or Russian. Might that be a problem? I've heard that hardly anybody at the Custom House speaks English. I'm taking a bus from Chisinau; will some of the other local passangers have the opportunity of helping me with that, or it will be just me who will be sent into the office?

i plan a long weekend to Moldova and my journey is Chisinau - Orhei - Soroca, independent travel on the cheap. Anybody has some hidden tips on transport & accomodation on Orhei and Soroca?
- Do buses run on Saturdays and Sundays between Chisinau and Orhei/Soroca? Timetable ideas?
- Is it possible to catch a bus for Soroca from Orhei?

My husband's grandfather was the mayor of a Jewish town known as Novo Sulitza in what is now Moldova. I would like to visit the town but can find no mention of it anywhere. I am told that it may be a part of a town that is now called Ucrania. I belive the town was just over the river from Romania. Can anyone help?

I am very confused about the Visa situation about travelling to Moldova.
I have a U.K. passport and my boyfriend has a Spanish one
(both E.U) and so do we need a visa?
We would only be staying for 2-3 weeks, if that.
I read we dont need one, and then I read others posts that say we do?
Have I missed any other paper work issues?

Also, If I did go to Moldova, I would like go and visit the countryside, and stay in Cazare , or rooms , so I suppose it would be dangerous if there was no Police station to register or Hotel to register??
Has anyone had similar experiance and could tell us of a way around, staying in the country and travelling around without getting arrested?
