Gourora Hotel: Timimoun Hotel - A reasonable Choice

The Gourora Hotel is a reasonable place to stay in Timimoun
Most of the rooms face the oasis, and it is very pleasant at night to hear the frogs in the oasis.
The restaurant is acceptable and the rooms are also OK, but basic. The hotel is quite old and would benefit from updating. The hotel has a swimming pool, but there was no water in it when I stayed there, so you can't rely on this.

Unique Quality: It's biggest advantage is the view over the oasis from the terrace, where you can watch the sunset, with a beer.

Camping Rose de Sable: The one and only place to stay in Timimoun!

The best place to stay in Timimoun (and it's a must, at least for 2 days!) is this wonderful site, which is not a real camp site but there are a number of bungalows with/without showers, as well as simple small huts covered with palmleaves and sites for Camping cars.
It is located at the edge of the palmeraies(palm tree yards..) and right on the entrance of the desert. It is1/2h walk to the town of Timimoun.

Unique Quality: Breathtaking view!!
The friendly family is preparing traditional meals which are delicious. They can organize excursions with a guide either with 4WD or - the highlight - with camels into the desert or visits of small oasis.
Price: around 25-30$ full pension, additional around 40$ for a camel day trip.

Hotel Oasis Rouge: Hotel in red

The Hotel Oasis Rouge, if it is still open, is the most colourfull and scenic hotel in Timimoun or maybe in the whole Algerian desert. We didn't sleep here, but we had a glass of tea in the bar.
