Akhem Traditional House Hotel: An Oasis in the Suburbs

Built in the style of a Traditional House - cool and comfortable inside, with simple but stylishly furnished rooms, the Akhem is a wonderful place to retire to after visiting the cities of Ghardaia.

The best parts are The Gardens and the Food.
The Gardens have a pool, honeysuckle, grapevines and numerous plants and trees that make it a small oasis in the suburbs of Ghardaia.
Food is served in the garden - breakfast at the table and dinner under the canopy at traditional low tables on rugs, with cushions.
I had the best Shorba (soup with lamb and vegetables) here and delicious tagine. In fact, the best food of the trip.

Chez Said: Nice hidden place in the palmerie of Beni Isguen

a bit off the beaten path
wonderful little getaway
very nice people run the place
clean, simple accommodations, with some fancier rooms
easy to meet other travelers around the fire in the common room
simple, european bathrooms: some in the room, some common

unique setting in the palmerie
