Hotel Avalade: Best Hotel in Luanda
Even though the Hotel Avalade may be Luanda's best hotel, I did not feel we were getting value for money. Even though it is said to have 5 stars, it felt more like a 3 star hotel. Still, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was OK and the security was good. The prices between 250 and 300 USD are far too high, but as there are not many alternatives for western tourists and business travellers, they seem to be able to get enough business. The area surrounding the hotel is not very inviting for walks, especially at night. If you would like to spend time at the beach, don't stay at the Avalade, maybe better stay at a hotel closer to the beach, such as the Palm Beach Hotel.

Hotel Tropico: centrically located
People in the reception are very helpful
Unique Quality: It is in the downtown, at 5 minutes by bus from the airport, in a centrically located street near the port. The staffs will help you to change money in the street and carry in suitcases to your room.

Hotel Continental
Price: Single room: US $ 140, (includes breakfast)
The hotel's 72 rooms and six suites have recently been renovated. Amenities include satellite TV and 24 hour room service. The Continental offers an executive lunch buffet on weekdays and its bar, the Equador, is known for its Angolan coffee.There is a club with good Angolan music and a nice cafe
The hotel is also an agent for Equador Rent-a-car I recommed you get a driver with the car.

Le presidente meridien: The best 5 star
A spacious luxery hotel with "african flair" located in the city Centre overlooking the bay.
The place to stay if you want to think you need european style with a french accent.

Le Presidente Meridien is the...
Le Presidente Meridien is the only hotel as we know it in the city. There are some guest houses around. I lived in something called 'The Norwegian Camp'. It was ok, and extremly expensive. $150 a night if I remember correctly.
