Best business Hotel in Angola
by 1spaniard about Hotel Tropico
I have stayed 3 times in the last two years at Hotel Tropico. Rooms are always extremely difficult to reserve. Try several months in advance. Hotel is recently refurbished. Good rooms with modern, clean bathrooms. Small but good swimming pool.
Excellent Lunch & Dinner Buffet at Restaurant.
Free internet service at business center.
centrically located
by jorgejuansanchez about Hotel Tropico
People in the reception are very helpful It is in the downtown, at 5 minutes by bus from the airport, in a centrically located street near the port. The staffs will help you to change money in the street and carry in suitcases to your room.
Luandas best hotel
by SaraCR about Hotel Tropico
There are few hotels and the existing ones can be quite expensive. You have to go to one of the expensive hotels since they're the only safe ones, they have generators that guarantee electricity and where the food is safe to eat.
The breakfasts are great!

A moderate price Hotel in Luanda
by 1spaniard about HOTEL MARINHA
Finding an Hotel room in Luanda can be a nightmare, specially in December, January and July.
Hotels are constantly overbooked, and charge maximum rates, above 250 usd$.
This Hotel is a bit out of the beaten path of business executives, and you can find a big, clean hotel room for a reasonnable price (120-150 usd$) It is a small Hotel (50 rooms?) at Ilha, in front of Luanda downtown. A car is necessary, here, and everywhere in Luanda. The hotel has very plain decor, a there is a small gambling casino on the groundfloor. But it is quiet and clean. Home for many chinese expatriate engineers.
Worst Hotel in Luanda
by 1spaniard about HOTEL PANORAMA
Hotel Panorama was a beautiful beach hotel, inaugurated in the early 70's, right before Angola independece and long civil war.
Now is a devastated building with old beds and bathrooms, where electric light, air con and hot water works seldom.
Some low budget expatriates live there, with open doors, loud music and hanging clothes. The view of Luanda town at night from Hotel Panorama rooms is superb. Besides that, the Hotel is a nightmare. Nothing works, there is not room service, and the restaurant is very, very plain.
Best Hotel in Luanda
by Stefan_HK about Hotel Avalade
Even though the Hotel Avalade may be Luanda's best hotel, I did not feel we were getting value for money. Even though it is said to have 5 stars, it felt more like a 3 star hotel. Still, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was OK and the security was good. The prices between 250 and 300 USD are far too high, but as there are not many alternatives for western tourists and business travellers, they seem to be able to get enough business. The area surrounding the hotel is not very inviting for walks, especially at night. If you would like to spend time at the beach, don't stay at the Avalade, maybe better stay at a hotel closer to the beach, such as the Palm Beach Hotel.

GUESTHOUSE IN LUANDA?
by bongosamy
Well I have been travelling to Africa on a regular basis for the last 7 years. I have a music label spezialised in African music so thats the main reason for my trips. Sometimes I just arrive at the airport, take a taxi, who dropes me in front of a nice place, I pay my 10$ per night and after three weeks I head back to Frankfurt. Sometimes I book in Advance but thats rare. Anyway I am planning a trip to Luanda and I am actually on the brink of giving up ;) first it looks like I need a invitation from Angola to get a visa!! I dont know anybody there so what to do? Secondly and thats been my main problem, I couldnt find anything under $65 per night. I am planning to stay 25 days so at that price its not an option. Third problem, I have written to 15 persones leaving in Luanda from this site but no reply yet. So if anyone can help, please let me know. Thanks. Samy

Hi,
My name is Yasmine, and I work an Oil and Gas company. if you need to go in Angola, you need to get an invitation letter, so there is 2 agencies which deliver this documents : GETMA and PANALPINA, they can manage to get you the visa and the invitation letter, but note the visa you will get is a short termvisa ( 7days with an extension of 7 days), other wise you can ask an ordinary visa ( 1 month with an extension of 1 month again maximum) and you do not need invitation letter.
About the hotel, it's very rare to find one du to the big international mobilisation. So hotels are very expensive.
