Luandas worst Hotel for Westerners
The only reason this Hotel is fully booked is because Luanda is short of quality Hotels. The best ones are always fully booked & Oil companies reserve rooms even though there empty most of the time.
The rooms in the Presidente are clean. Thats about as good as it gets. The majority of the staff are very lazy... not all. The food quality is very low.If you want to S--t yourself thin...this is the place. If you are unfortunate to book in here. BRING A GOOD SUPPLY OF IMODIUM. It shows 4* on the front. It would struggle to get an AA approval. It's location is about as bad as it gets in Luanda.Your certainly not safe to walk around outside of it. The security at the front is normally asleep. It most probably was a good hotel when it first opened. It is now an overpriced Doss house. I know because I have stayed in it recently. (Not from choice I would like to add) It also has no entertainment.

Always overbooked
Hotel Presidente was a Meridien Hotel some time in the past. Now is just a 3 star hotel with a 5 star price (295 $), in an old building from the 70's. Rooms are clean.
Unique Quality: Nice views of Luanda Bay from the upper floors. Lower floors get the noise from the heavy traffic on the street.
Good Bar for meetings and good buffet at restaurant.
