Tata Somba: Characteristic

    • For Natitingou this is the top place to be. But do not get your hopes up to high. The rooms ar basic but clean. The food was good. It is a great place to meet people travelling to the Pendjari parc. Many expats from Cotonou make a stopover in Natitingou and choose the Tata Somba. You also make your reservations here for the Pendjari hotel.
    We ran into car trouble in Djouggou. The hotelstaff at the Tata Somba called us a mechanic and an hour later our car was fixed so we could enter the Pendjari parc.

    Hotel is built in Tata style giving it its unique character.

    The Tata Somba Hotel is small and built in the traditional style of the area. The rooms are arranged around the swimming pool and are quite spacious and very clean.
    Meals are mostly served outside by the pool. Dinner was a generous plate of guinea fowl with peanut sauce and rice. Breakfast is simple French bread with butter and jam, a choice of fruit juice and coffee.
    Staff don’t speak much English but are helpful – even if you ask them to move a spider from your room! They also run the lodge in Pendjari Park so can organise accommodation and 4WDs if you intend to visit the park.
