The location is great, against a small moutain.
Facing a bay with a beach.
We don't enjoy it much because usualy we leave in the morning and come back in the evening.
It's the best hotel in the island, Estoril wil be next, very well located too. Both are walking minutes to Sal Rei.
Hotel Dunas is in town.
And you have many smaler places to stay.
Hotel Maravilha is a rather small hotel within a five minutes walk from the central Praca and also within a five minutes walk from the ferries to Sant Antao.
The most important resorts are on the lha do Sal. On the southern coast to the west of Santa Maria there are many hotels and holiday villages: Morabeza, Belorizonte, Aeroflot, Club Djadsal, Club Crioula, Bravo Club Vila do Farol.
At Boavista, Sao Vicente and Santiago there are some hotels. On the other islands you can find little hotels and guesthouses.
there's not that many hotels or pension. We got there and went to look for a place to stay. Most of them were packed, but then we found this place - Residencial A Paz - pretty new (4 months old) near the central square, really confortable.
After one week spent in the Estoril Hotel we moved for another week in this resort. It's run by italians and you can find lots of italians, it's a nice one even if you loose a lot of the real world outside coming here ... anyhow: pools, bars, restaurant, evening entertainment, noisy & so on ...
Small beach with a rough sea.
This is one of the way you can skip to rent expensive real umbrellas and chairs ... yes, actually even if Cape Verde is still undiscovered by mass tourism, you can find one beach renting for 10 Euros a day (!!!!!!!!!!!!) one umbrella and two chairs !!!!
It's cheap ... but after all it's not so comfortable for 2 weeks :-(
1st of all: this is not a resort, it's a small, clean & charming hotel just before entering Sal Rei. It's run by italians and it's the ideal place for relaxing ... which means: no music, no entertainment, no useless common spaces & so on.

Charming rooms, wonderful food. They're fishermen and therefore you can always have fresh fish; moreover the kitchen boss is a local guy and he gives all what you eat a wonderful taste.
This modern hotel is situted in the centre of Cidade da Praia. Its rooms are quite good with air conditioning and besides its situation in the capital city still keeps the african spirit on its furniture and ambiance.
Another Hotel I recommend is MARINA CLUB Boavista Island (see photo)
Istayed at penssao chave de ouro in Mindelo and was very happy with it.
Typical budget hotel, but clean and well run and located only one block from the sea.

cheap and freindly.
Great location as it is right at the beach.
Rooms are basic but clean.
Sea water swimming pool (that's nice).
Breakfast buffet good. Tennis court and pool table free of charge.
