When you’re adventurous and don’t need luxury this is the ideal place to stay overnight in the jungle of Tai. You’ll hear a lot of sounds and noises at night, so don’t be afraid. Before you go to Tai National park, you’ll have to stop at the main office in San Pedro to tell them you’re on your way to Djiroutou.

It’s a well equipped jungle lodge and the ideal place to recover after a long journey in the rainforest.
You’ll get your wake up call from the monkeys in the area and I noticed also footprints and dropping of forest elephants in the neighborhood.

The place is quite OK, though I would give it three stars, not four. But I guess, we shouldn't judge too strictly, since the country is just restoring from the civil war. The rooms are quite clean, breakfast was OK. There is an outdoor pool.
The management organizes African nights from time to time, inviting traditional dancers and musicians. The show is very nice and is worth visiting. It is organized at the outdoor restaurant downstairs during the dinner at an extra charge. Leave a Comment

Coppa-Cabana is a small and peaceful campground at the ocean road, east of Abidjan.
It's a relaxed place run by two French brothers, Jean and Jeannot. There are showers and wash facilities, for us the first after 7 days brousse camping. Coppa-Cabana is a very small and cosy campground at the ocean. The campsite has a nice bar serving drinks and meals.

In Grand Bassam, I stayed at La Taverne Bassamoise. Since it was low season, the hotel was fairly deserted. The hotel has nice rooms and bungaloww, is right on the beach, and has good food.
