Intermediate place for lunch
by Luchonda
A perfect intermediate hotel to have a splendid lunch on my road from Aswan to Luxor. The view on the city is overwhelming. The road tp Luxor with a "private taxi" took 3 hours, but via non touristic places, unforgetable.

Basma Hotel Aswan
by sue_stone
The Basma Hotel is located about 10 minutes drive from the train station, on top of a hill, offering fabulous view over the city and the Nile.
It is a 4 star hotel, which had all the mod cons. Our room was a little tired looking, but more than adequate. There is a large pool, restaurant and bar. It was well located to explore the town.
Unique Quality: We stayed here for only one night, and the highlight of our stay was definitely the view from parts of the hotel (not from our room unfortunately) which looked over the Nile and the distant desert.
Directions: Located up on the hill, just up the road from the Nubian Museum.

The best hotel
by stickybeak
Our stay here was utterly relaxing. The hotel is low-key yet elegant. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable and very clean, and the swimming pool and landscaped grounds were outstandingly beautiful. There is a "shopping center" downstairs where you can get nice souvenirs, in particular there is a spice shop and the lady who sells the spices is very knowledgeable. There may be some haggling but it's minimal and not annoying. Our meals in the restaurant were good too. There is a certain vibe about the place that makes you want to live there! Yes, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Unique Quality: The swimming pool is lovely. It has a gazebo bar in the middle of it. I also liked the lobby. It's done in traditional Nubian colors, it's airy and light.
Directions: In front of (actually in back of) Nubian Museum

When I stayed there it was $77.00 for a single. I think that it is now about $91.00/$120.00 for a single/double. Very nice clean rooms with wonderful service. Splendid views of the Nile River from most rooms. A great big pool which was very much required because it was rather hot when I was there. A couple of very good restaurants.

This modern hotel has very comfortable well-equipped rooms, a lively Nubian bar and an excellent restaurant.

Hotel in Aswan
by chris.hh
Hi you guys, I am just getting my trip to Egypt fixed. I am just missing a good idea for an hotel in Aswan. Does anybody have a tip? Should not be too expensive, but also it should be clean and secure.
Or I also would like a family run thing. Like B&B - but there are not too many options, I guess.
If you have some good tips, I'd be love to read them.
Thanks for your help & best, Chris.

Hi.
The mid to high end range, Movenpick Hotel and the Basma Hotel depending what time of year you are going can be as cheap as 90 USD per night. For clean, safe cheaper hotels try Cleopatra Hotel, Habi Hotel, Salaam Hotel, and The Memnon Hotel.
