beaches in dahab
by marina53
I am a very beach person, not interested in snorkling, because I cannot snorkle. I am planning a trip to the Read Sea area, and I would like to know if the beach in Dahab worths going there. It looks quite brown in the pictures! Is Sharm more beautifull? I hate package tours and it seems that this is the only option for Sharm. Could anybody advise?

Sorry to say but the beaches in Nuweiba are far superior to those of Dahab, Sharm and Taba.

Hi, To answer your question they are all beautiful. Check out Sharm, Hurghada, Dahab, and Taba. You don't need a package tour to do this either. I went to Sharm we just booked air and hotel. A lot of the hotels have things for you to do during the day if you get bored.
Just go and enjoy!

Hi,
Haven't been to Dahab but the beaches at Sharm/Naama Bay are certainly beautiful, although the sand is quite a bit grittier than we are used to in Britain. You really should try to snorkle though as the fish are amazing.
If you want to organise your own tour book your flights direct with XL.com. They only seem to be flying from Gatwick this year though. Flights are around £350. You can book a hotel through medhotels.com. We stay at the Halomy at Naama Bay as it's the cheapest and in a great location on the headland (£260 full board for two weeks in August). Read up on here as there is quite a difference in standards and price amongst the hotels and find one to suit your budget.
It's a lot cheaper to book yourself!!

I think I have to stress that Sharm is a very large international resort with many thousands of tourists arriving every day. If you don t mind the large numbers and want a nice sandy beach then the beach at Naama Nay, or possibly at the Baron Hotel, and then possibly the Conrad, or eventually Sharks Bay beach ( not the little coves around the headlands on each side of Sharks Bay ), would suit you best. Many other hotels have small rocky beaches on the headlands, which may be good for snorkelling, but as they drop off suddenly into deep water, may be a bit intimidating for someone seeking a safe, sandy beach.
If you want to avoid the crowds, enjoy spacious safe sandy beaches and prefer to book individually, then look at Nuweiba.

Dive Sites

Every dive site has description of the topograph and landscape under the water. You wont be surprised. There are so many dive clubs in Dabah. I went to Penguin Dive Club. But you may have your choice according to your budget and preference.
