Concorde El Salam Hotel -All inclusive

    by

Very nice 5 stars hotels with alot of stuff to do there , tennis areas , bowling place.Very clean .

Unique Quality: There is a place called sports area which is cheaper and you still can do everything the idea is that just u take a bus from the front area to the sports area and the bus works all the day so it's not a problem at all.
There is a bus to take you from the airport for free which is not available for most hotels.

Directions: Hotel located in Sharks Bay area the closest to Hilton Sharks Bay

  • fantastic for all!

Just got back from 2 weeks at the concorde and it was brill! The staff are amazingly kind and helpful. The hotel and its grounds were kept beautiful. I stayed in a standard room with my sister- it had lots of storage space, was big clean and airy.

We had beds at the top of the beach and also by the pool- I would recommend getting beds near to the pool as temperatures reached the mid to high 50's and the walk from the beds at the top of the beach was hard! The sea is stunning but you have to walk out on a jetty to go in it as the 1st part is full of coral- the fish are amazing though.

One thing i would say is that some things do not come under the all inclusive package e.g some cocktails and some alcoholic drinks, drinks after 11, the icecream in the buffet restaurant or at the beach, bottles of water and the italian restaurant. BUT you do get a 40% discount at the italian and i definately recommend going- 6 of us ate for less than £10 a head; we had two courses and 2 rounds of drinks!

Na'ama bay was a really good night out! You do get hassled a bit but only by taxi drivers and after a firm 'no' they go away. There's hard rock cafe here but as that was packed we chose to go to the camel bar on the roof which was really nice and gave you a great view of the town. The shops in the mall are good -lots of different things sold inlcuding 'designer bags' which were really good fakes! You can buy anything from clothes to jewlery to little souvenirs.

Unique Quality: There are loads of trips to go on here, but we chose to go quad biking and camel riding- We dint book it throuh the rep we saw Hany instead who goes around the complex and he sorted for the 6 of us to go on a private quad biking ride through the desert with a guide, a stop off for a drink and at echo valley and then on to the camels- an absoulutely amazing experience! And dont worry about the quads - we hadnt done it before and were fine, they were really easy to use.

We also went to to the waterpark which was quite expensive for what you got- it looked really good and there were little queues but after about 45 minutes we'd been on all the slides. It cost around £15 per adult. Although, it was still a good day out and we enjoyed it.

There were shops in the hotel but there was also some just outside the main entrance; the shops outside the main entrance included a supermarket - cigarettes were cheap here (around £1 a packet) ... also there's a brilliant jewelry shop which sold gorgeous jewlery for really good prices! Remember to haggle as they do drop their prices.

It does get really hot throughout the day- the hottest temp. we saw was 56 degrees! Definately take high factor suncreams as its so easy to burn.

Entertainment was good and once a week there was a karaoke which got alot of english up! There's also really good beach parties around twice a week and a nightclub. Another thing to do at night is shisha- nothing harmful just fruit tobacco and really good fun and cheap (around £2 for one which 6 of us had a good go on)

Overall an amazing holiday-suitable for all!

    Excellent 5* Hotel

    by

Before setting out on our holiday to the Concorde we read up on the hotel, taking on board both positive & negative reviews & opinions. However when we arrived we knew we were in for something special.... something very special. The moment you walk in to the main lobby it takes your breath away. Beautifully decorated and marble everywhere. Its certianly looked the part.
Cant fault anything in regards to the service, every single barman was very friendly and happy to see you everytime you saw them. the facilities were second none. How many hotels do you know with an Equestrian Centre? A full size football pitch & an indoor Ice rink? this has them all for all ages!!

We stayed 2 weeks all inclusive & loved every moment of it. Would recommend it to any one who is after both an excillerating & relaxing holiday, What ever you choose to do you can do it all here!!

Unique Quality: The infinity pool was breathtaking and then view of the Red Sea it overlooked was like something you can only dream of!

The Concorde El Salam (main part) has 4 pools, the larger infinity 2 smaller pools & 1 indoor pool each having their own qualities.

just returned from the concorde el salam(18th july 2006) and the following tip concerns the building work currently going on next the hilton hotel,Although the jack hammers are 50 metres away, they start at 8am and continue till 8pm non stop.god knows how they cope in the hilton next door. on the plus side the brick dust residue accumulates in the hair and provides extra hair for those who are thinning on top!TAKE SOME EARPLUGS

Great Place to Stay!

by TripAdvisor Member sat123

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Concorde el Salam hotel. We travelled out the day fater the bombs in Naama Bay, we didn’t consider cancelling after we heard the news and boy was it the best decision ever!

The hotel is big – abit like a small village. We upgraded to a sea view room at check-in and it was worth the extra few £s. The view was amazing and we had the beach, main pool and restaurants within easy reach.

The main pool was large and very lively. I have read previous reviews saying the pool was always empty – this was never the case during our stay. There were many activities held by the Animation Team which were all fun. Raafa at the pool bar was cool, always full of good advice and tips.

The buffet restaurant was great with a wide selection of food. Pasta station and Pizza station were my favourite, with plenty of other foods to choose from. The evening entertainment on the Laguna terrace was okay but could be improved. We ventured out to Naama Bay twice, which was a pleasant change, its lively there, lots of bars/restaurants.

The Italian restaurant on the beach has excellent pizzas and the BBQ on the beach is yummy. The pool bar also serves burgers and kebabs but it can take a while top get served sometimes.

The service at the Piano bar was extremely slow – we waited 30mins for our drinks

The rooms were nice – bathroom clean, plenty of wardrobe space and satellite TV. Rooms were cleaned daily

The shops in the lobby were all reasonably priced. There is a supermarket in between the main hotel and the sports hotel – get all bottled water from there as bottled water is not included in the AI deal for some reason. The view as you walk into reception is awesome

The sports hotel was quieter but just as nice.

The temperature was extremely hot – in the mid 40’s each day, so take plenty of sun cream.

The airport is only 10 minutes away but we never once heard any aircraft noise. Tipping is the norm so be prepared with lots of little notes.

To sum up this is a great hotel, clean, friendly, excellent facilities and a beautiful setting.

Over-rated and over hyped but still not bad.

OK, I have just got back from Concorde El Salam and too be honest I'm happy to be home. Don't get me wrong the hotel is of a good standard but some of the reviews here do not read true in my opinion.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed in this resort from June 30th for 2 weeks.

Firstly let me just comment on the heat. To class it as 'lovely' is not what I or anyone I spoke to thought. We all knew it was going to be hot but hitting 46 was bordering on unbearable and dangerous!! Obviously this is nothing to do with the resort, and after speaking to others we should have gone in March and September for more vearable temperatures. In order to survive the day you had to get a lounger with a parasol but to get a lounger bear a parasol we (my girlfriend!) had to resort to getting up at 6:30 - 7:30am. There was also the issue of putting your towels down and buggering off for half a day. Thinking that is only the Germans that do this would be naive, us British are a sneaky and embarrassing bunch. As we left the competition for loungers was increasing and I do believe it will come to blows at the rate it was going! As far as I am aware all pools suffered from the same plight and the only alternative was the beach which I was not too keen on.

We spent the majority of at the smaller aqua-gym swimming pool. When you had a lounger it was a nice relaxing pool. I do feel the aqua-gym is not much to sing about, but each to their own. Ayman/Nabil who ran the 'bar' at this pool were great guys and tried to keep the water flowing. Mustpha was in control of the towels and parasols was a good guy but went on vacation the second week to be replaced with a guy more interested in the single women!

Don't get me started on the 'All-Inclusive Concept'. I personally thought the buffet was a bit 'tired' but the Italian restaurant and Room serice were very nice. It's the first All Inclusive I have been on and spent £300 on tipping and eating. However I should say the food was defintely above average - although queues for the pasta station, pizza's, etc towards the end of our 2 weeks as the number of guests were increasing. I should also had that week 1 the Italian restaurant at evenings was 40% off the food bill and free drinks, but by week 2 it had changed to 40% off both the food and the drinks without any notice to guests whose holiday was over June/July. Penny pinching in my opinion. (12% service charge was not a tip to the staff. The hotel pocketed this!)
There is also a rule that all AI drinks are served by the glass which means you can't have a bottle of water for your room unless you pay for it - when it's so hot there you have to drink a lot of water so this was suprising. (You can buy bottles from the hotel for LE10 but you can walk to the supermarket and pay LE3.)

Referring to a review that mentions 'tummy troubles'. I had a problem for 7 days, while my girlfirend was ill with similar for a couple of days. Unlike the previous post, I would say most people I had spoken to had the same problems, with extreme cases of people calling the hotel doctor with some very serious problems. However I don't believe these are unique to the hotel, as the Pharmacy had a constant stream of customers from all hotels.

Overall the hotel itself is very nice, clean and the people very nice and friendly. A tip does get you better service but don't feel obliged to do so if you're having one drink or if the bar person gets your order wrong! The main problem I had was the little things that the hotel could change at very little expense that would make vistors stay a lot bit better.

Wonderful Hotel

We stayed here for 1 week from July 3rd. This was our first time in Egypt and we had no pre-conceived ideas.
Be prepared for the heat in July, expect 38/40 degrees during the day, we only did 15 mins and then sort shade for half an hour, drink plenty, use 25 plus sun screen to start off.
When snorkling early in the holiday use a T shirt, we burnt because we did'nt use one.
We found the quality of fish life excellent just off the pontoons at the beach and in hindsight the boat trip was no better.
We took a taxi trip to Nama bay one night and only stayed half hour, shops all the same, hassled by owners, to busy, you could have been in any cheap holiday town.
Camel trip into the desert, arranged by the guy outside the hotel, next to the small supermarket was worthwhile, he was very helpful, his parrot was very loud.
Like other reviewers we thought the staff, food and general appearance of the hotel was fantastic.
Found the ants in our bathroom a little annoying but they never seemed to venture beyond the bathroom.
To sum up we would go back, this place is truly excellent value.

From a boat trip, we saw major building work going on for a massive new hotel next door to The Concorde El Salam and even from the sea we could here the constant drilling into the cliff face. This must effect relaxing on the hotels private beach.
