It's oke
We wanted a warm family christmas holiday again. We read reveiws that Faraana Reef was an all Russian resort but we thought that we'd try it out anyway. www.pogodanaegipt.pl There were Russians, Polish and italians present but it was nice . There were only 3 british families on the resort during Christmas and New Year but it made no difference. Some Russians were asked to get in the que like everybody else just like anywhere else !!!

A great hotel
A nice 4* hotel set in a courtyard style around 2 pools. It's got a chilled, friendly atmosphere. Well kept and constant attention given to maintainence of hotel and grounds; maintainence men constantly "pottering"! All staff are friendly & helpful & great with children. Well located for Sharm old town & Na'ama Bay and free shuttle buses run from hotel to Mexicana & Diamond Beach.
The food in the hotel is not wonderful but as a vegetarian travelling with young children it was easy and we didn't starve!
Unique Quality: Very friendly.
The pool bar closes at 5:30pm which means as all rooms are set around the pools, nobody is disturbed at bedtime. Not a lot of drinking happens in this hotel anyway.
At 6pm the "bug-man" gases all the bushes so no problems with mozzies

Good value for money
My husband and our two teenage children have just returned from a week at the Creative Mexicana. We stayed All Inclusive and we enjoyed our trip immensely. The hotel is very clean, tidy and the staff are very friendly. The mini bars in the rooms need to be checked as we found that the bottled water and cans of coke we past their sell by date.
The food was varied and there was something that we could eat at all the meals. My son loves pancakes with syrup sauce so he was in his element at breakfast and evening meal as these were constantly on offer. We did find that we had to ask for butter at lunch and in the evening as although bread is supplied they only put out the butter at breakfast time.
The pool is lovely and the pool bar was a godsend in the heat we experienced. The highest temperature was 47 and the lowest 38 - so it was quite hot! The area surrounding the hotel is great for small shops and if you don't mind being hassled then please go and explore. The supermarket up the road from hotel (out of the hotel and turn right) is manned by a cashier at the checkout and there is no hassle and you are free to shop and look around. We found that we used this shop most of all as we could look at a leisurely pace and buy or not as the case may be.
The hotel did experience problems with the internet whilst we were there and several times the computers crashed. The cashier is not often available and you cannot buy "time" unless he is there which is a pain.
Unique Quality: Pool is great and rooms are very spacious and exceptionally clean.

2006 - Excellent 3 star hotel
This is a nice hotel with 2 pools , the plants and trees are all well kept , and the room we had was big - see pictures 2, 3 and 4.
There were 4 rooms in total - bedroom with dressing table and wadrobe, living room with TV sofa and dinning table, Kitchen with hob, kettle and fridge and the bathroom with hairdryer. The towels were changed everyday and the cleaner sometimes made patterns on the bed with flowers.
Unique Quality: Good surroundings - mini supermarket 2 mins away, much cheaper for drinks and snacks than in the hotel, and they had no problem with us bring drinks/fsnacks into the hotel.
For a littre bottle of water in most shops you can expect to pay 2 EGP - approx 20p.
Lots of taxis pass the hotel.
Mini bus to the beach and Namma bay on the evening - although only 2 trips to namma the first one at 9.00pm so we often got a taxi down abit earlier for 25 EGP.

MEXICANA SHARM EL SHIEK
booked on a late deal £219 pp ..A great hotel , clean and well looked after. towles and rooms done everyday , the staff were very helpful and friendly. Massive swimming pool , warm and again clean. we were on BB , the food was great and plentyful, we ate our evening meal there 3 times during the week, outside by the pool. very nice i would reccomend this hotel.
Unique Quality: pools were great , warm and clean. the food at the bar was very nice , cheese and tomato pizza £1.80 big too! vodka & coke £2.60 , there is not much of a drink choice , vod gin rum brandy coke , if you want wine its £25 a bottle for you basic plonk.
We have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Creative Mexicana. It is an excellent, clean, professional hotel with professional and helpful staff who collectively speak very good English.
We stayed All Inclusive and couldn't fault the food, drink or service. The weather was excellent and the whole trip was completely stress free and the most relaxing week of our lives.
We are two single girls in our late twenties and found that the hotel was exactly what we were looking for. We only wanted a relaxing week away which the Mexicana provided, and on the odd night that we did want to 'mash it up' we could easily get a cab into Naema Bay for next to nothing.
If you're thinking of booking at the Mexicana - don't hesitate, you'll have a ball.
Enjoy x.
All Inclusive my behind!

Please Please, read this before you book a holiday to Creative Mexicana!
I have always opted for All Inclusive holidays as they are better value for money but not at The Creative Mexicana.
Negatives
* The exact same food everyday for BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER. * LUNCH was the food from the night before AND if you wanted a pizza or a burger you had to pay as it was not included in the All Inclusive deal. * NO apple or orange juice available on All Inclusive...only FIZZY drinks. * All Inclusive customers would only be served semi called water in glasses, but upfront paying customers were served bottled water straight from the fridge. * Did not see any ice-cream being served what so ever. * Drinks were warm when served and you had to deal with it, as having ice in your drinks in Egypt is not wise.
Positives * Rooms are superbly decorated...marble bathrooms...spacious rooms and balconies. * Cleaning service everyday.
Overall I had a super time in Egypyt because the people are so friendly. A taxi from this hotel to Namma Bay where the bars, clubs and food outlests are sholud be no more than 25 Egyptian Pounds and no more than 50 Egyptian pounds to the airport, so do not get ripped off.
Also the AquaPark is nice there with cute guys BUT it costs £18 English Pounds to get in...which is very expensive.
Finally Sharm El Sheikh is more a relaxing area where you can just chill...places like Cairo and Luxor are places to stay if you want to see Pyramids and things like that. Flight from Sharm to Cairo is £105 and a 6 hour coach ride each way including a night in a hotel is £125.
If you still choose to stay at this hotel, go BB and eat out in Namma Bay...YOU HAVE been WARNED!
Worst stay in egypt.

My friend an i have just come back from staying at the resort above, We have only been back about two weeks. I myself have been to egypt twice before and stayed at another resort and it was fantansic. But here we went half board the food was really bad, One morning for my breakfast i fancied a boiled egg when i bit in to it it was running green where i had been off. We found out that they were using the same food that was dished up the evening before. Everybody in the resort were complaining that they had bad stomachs. My friend and i only eat in the resort twice, first i was bad from having the breakfast and then my friend was bad from eating that evening meal. So in the end we eat out down in nammay bay. From the photos on the internet the resort looks great but the Mexicana Beach is no where near the hotel as it says, its a 10 min ride. Then its like a quarry. The rooms are clean but not to a great standard. We went to the Diamond Beach that was great if you are into snorkling and Sharks Bay is worth the visit. If you are having a girls week away like my firend and i then be careful because when the Egypy men find out then they become pains. I was stalked for the full week by a manager because i have blond hair and blue eyes. If you like that attention then you will fit in, But after having to put up with for a full week then it becomes a pain. If you do have any complaints the manager of the resort is not interested he will just give you a form to fill in. Their is a resturant just as you come into the hotel we eat in their one night and saw a cockroach on the floor. Not a pleasant site. So if you want a spoiled holiday then go and stay at the Creative Mexicana Resort. But just a word of warning this Resort has a sister Resort called (The Grand Mexciana) A Rep gave this a One out of Ten. Don't let this put you off Egypt because it is a very beauiful Country and well worth the visit BUT STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.......................................I Would give this a one/Two Star
Lovely hotel - great relaxing hloiday

My partner and I returned yesterday from our holiday at Creative Mexicano Hotel. After reading some of the reviews before we went we were not sure what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised. We have been fortunate enough to have travelled quite extensively and can honestly say this hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. The grounds, the rooms, the pool and the staff are exceptional. We stayed on half-board basis, the food was not the best, but it is so cheap to eat out. We ate in the steak house at the hotel and that meal was excellent. We also ate at Naam Bay where there are lots of good restaurants very reasonably priced. Although the beaches are a bus ride away they were both good. We preferred the Diamond beach because was on the Red Sea, the Mexicana beach was nice but in a lagoon. We found the staff at all venues to be very friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus service to and from the beach was good. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
excellent holiday, excellent hotel!

Off to the above Hotel next month.
Anyone been here recently? Information much appreciated if so. Is the snorkling good around this area?
How much can we expect to pay for a taxi from the airport to the Hotel? Just so we have an idea of how much to barter for!
