Domina Gardenia

Hi there, does anyone have any info on the above hotel, believe it's in Shark Bay but apparently need courtesy bus to beach? What's the best way from airport to the hotel and at what price should it cost? Went to Hurghada couple of years ago, have been told it's more expensive in Sharm is this correct? Have found this site and forum a wealth of information, so a big thank you for those of you that help answer our pending questions. Keep up the good work. Any help regarding the above gratefully rec'd. Cheers x

Hi there, no I haven't been yet due to go July also (27th), have found good and bad comments about this on another site. Are you all inclusive as well? We have been to Hurghada b4 but this will be r 1st in Sharm, how about u? Not quite sure how 2 take the lack of responses regarding this hotel, but if ur interested about the info I have found elsewhere let me know, not sure if I can send a link on here or not. If u have found out anything also would like to know ur opinion on this place. It does look impressive but from what I have found out there is only 1 AI bar which is outside (not pool bar). the rest u have 2 pay. The food apparently is not the best, but we weren't that impressed in Hurghada and that was 5*. Also it's an Egyptian timeshare as well by all accounts, how true that is I'm not sure. I have been thinking about ringing agents to check my findings, not sure what 2 do. Who did u book with, if u don't mind me asking? Let me know what u think. Cheers

Travel Tips for Sharm El Sheikh
Coral Reefs of the Red Sea
by Pablos_new
The main attraction for the tourists in Sharm-El-Sheikh is Red Sea with it's wonderful underwater world.
Scuba diving, snorkeling and boats with glass bottom (for those who cannot swim).
The best places consider to be in a National park zones - Ras Mohhamed, Ras Nasrani, Tiran, etc. But my experience shows that reef near by your hotel could be even better :))) This photo was taken through the glass bottom of the boat - this is really not the best way to observe reefs :(, though this photo is rather good.
The queen of the reef
by pikuu
I met this specimen only 4 or 5 times. Very dignified (ladylike), quiet and pretty big fish from unknown (for me) species (maybe someone from you can specifie this species). Look at its (her ;) delicate bright-green eye make-up, at subtle blue color of the tail (like the lower part of ball dress) - real queen of the reefs.
Language
by Kaysta
Most people speak english in Sharm El Sheikh, you'd be suprised how quickly they can tell your english and speak the language if they want to sell you something.
However, not everyone speaks fluently and i think it is only fair that you get the grasp of some basic Arabic, especially 'La Shukran' which means 'No thank you'.
I purchased a book before i went to Egypt and it very easy to learn and has sections of what you might need to know when you are; ie general requirements, shopping, eating out etc. It is very colourful easy to read and translates English to Arabic and how to pronounce them.
The book is made by 'Berlitz' and i purchased it from Borders for £4.99
Definately worth it, especially if your planning to go to Cairo or Luxor where some people don't speak very good English.

Lots of Bikinis, shorts its very hot even in the evening, and make sure to take a hat to keep the sun off, and something light to cover yourself if travelling in the sun. Make sure to take plenty of paracetamol / painkillers , i had terrible tooth ache and used the few we had. They sold painkillers at the Chemist but thay were very expensive approx ?3-4.00.
A good waterproof suncream is esential, if you plan on being in the water alot take a old T-Shirt you dont mind getting wet and wear it whilst snorkelling as the water magnifies the sun. Water proof camera Some good books to read, im already on the look out for a new one, think i will be investing in Jordans latest 'A Whole New World' can't wait to read it.
Coloured Canyon
by Enzyme_X
From Sharm you can make whole day trip to Coloured Canyon which lies some 120 km north of Sharm, near Nuweiba.
Canyon got its name because there you can see many colourful, bright layers of stoneware.
The canyon is a result of many rainfalls some 500.000 years ago, when water cut its way into stone and left some beautiful structures behind.
In some places canyon gets really narrow. Not for those with claustrophobia.
