Drinks
by Andreaflem about Dreams Beach resort
Dreams beach all inclusive water served in a glass is warm unless you buy a bottle of cold water ( not included in all inclusive) There are bottles in your fridge in your room but if you haven't drank it with in half an hour its warm. Soft drinks are served in the smallest glasses I have ever seen take an empty water bottle and ask them to fill it.
Beer is cold and nice but served in glasses approx 1/3 pint we went to a bar in Fantasia and bought pint glasses and took them back to the hotel ( they cost us £5!!) The bar filled them no problem so don't know why they didn't have pint glasses.
Dreams Beach - great value holiday
by TripAdvisor Member birthdaygirlEngland
We have recently returned from Dreams Beach (18/9/05) and would like to provide an up-dated review. The pool now has loads of loungers most of which have shade. there are new umberellas all around the pool, however these are fixed and you need to move the loungers arround to follow the shade (or sun) as necessary. We had no problems finding 2 together even as late as 10.30am, however our rep recommended that we use the pool at Dreams Vacation if we wanted a quieter time. This is only 5 mins walk, or catch the shuttle and had loads of space. We had 4 loungers each day so that I could keep in shade and my other half could enjoy sun, we inconvenienced no one else as there is so much space up there.
We were a little disappointed by the buffet especially as I eat quite a limited diet (being vegetarian) it became quite repetative, the other restaurants which you need to book provide a more 'special' alternative .
The room was spotless and we enjoyed having fresh bed linnen every day also fresh towels. Our only problem here was that we would have liked more water provided as 2 small bottles was insufficient given the temperatures (mid fourties day time and mid thirties night time).
Over all we found our holiday to be excllent value for money. The staff were all so very nice - no complaints at all there - and we wondered at times if we were in the same resort as some of the other reviewers.
Excellent Dreams Beach Hotel in Sana
by A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I stayed in the Dreams Beach Hotel, Sharm El-Sheik on fully inclusive from Sept-15th to Sept-29th 2005. It's an Excellent 3 Star plus hotel (Not 5 Star). We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there, the staff were EXCELLENT in every way possible and they called me the Egypt Man because I can speak Arabic and this enthralled the staff and increased our service potential enormously. The rooms were very nice but required a makeover, clean towels, sheets and pillowcases everyday and a good room service. No kettle in the room which annoyed me for my morning coffee but there is a bar in the reception area that is open 24 hours a day for coffee, tea and drinks so I got my coffee every morning at 6.30am. Evening entertainment at the hotel was dismal, there was a singer for the first 5 nights but then he went on vacation and we were left with "Lady In Red" on the music system for the rest of the holiday. I would advise ear plugs for the main pool as ear, nose, throat and eye problems exist and I had to to visit both the doctor and the hospital at £40 a visit and was informed by the specialist that he had treated over 5000 visitors in the last 3.5 months with infections. DO NOT forget to take IMMODIUM PLUS with you and something for insect bites and Don't eat the ICE CREAM either, everyone I knew had suffered at least one day from Dioreah. Access to the sea from the beach area is somewhat dangerous, the walk platform is made from concrete slabs that move when you walk on them and trapped toes was the order of the day a new platform was being built when we were there so may be it will be better in the future. Getting back out of the sea onto the platform is precarious especially in there is a high tide or rough sea. Whenever you go on a trip there is a camera man there who mages a vidio/CD of the day and sells for £20 when you arrive back at the hotel, the quality is very poor and obviously everyone on the trip is on it and toy might see yourself only a couple of times in all. We had a King size bed that was as hard as the tiled floor and the pillows were not much better although some visitors mentioned that their rooms had just been made over and the beds were excellent. A couple of tips to the houseboy ensured we were overflowing with Pepsi, Fanta and water for the whole holiday. Air conditioning was really good but I switched it off at night as it was too cold. The food I found was Par Excellent, plenty of variety at all meals and I counted 54 different sweets on one night alone. Do not take £ coins with you as they are useless, Sterling & US Dollars should be taken and tip the staff with Egyptian Pounds (10.78 E.Pounds = £1 sterling). Taxi's will only take Egyptian pounds and some shops in Nama Bay will only take Dollars or Sterling and others E.pounds, so have a good variety of small E.Pounds on you at all times for tips and Taxi. There is a head Egyptian man around the main pool who leads the Animation team and he speaks 3 languages, Russian, English & Italian, only problem in that no one can understand what he says except for "Laysy, laysy, laysy" "I See" & "All ladies in the poola" and he says it at the top of his voice with full amps on the mike. Efficiency of getting you registered is quick and easy and your bags are delivered to your room in double quick time. It's £12 to keep your room on until 6pm if it is available, if not they will find you another room until you leave and will collect your bags from your room and deliver them to the departure stockade when you are ready to leave. All of the trips were well organised by Thomas Cook and the information and meals during the trips was Excellent. The Thomas Cook Reps, "Chris and Carianne" were wonderful in every way possible. You must go to the Bedouin Night on the complex while you are there, it's unusual and funny and the mael is gorgeous with free Camel Rides thrown in. Temperatures varied from 43C to 54C in the sun during the day and many people suffered from sunburn even though they were continually warned about it. There is a lot of hassle from the shop owners in Nama Bay wanting you to sign their guest book and then harrising you when you you go inside their shops, if you politely say NO!, they get really annoyed with you. Russians were everywhere and the younger ones were impolite, aggressive and totally without manners whereas the older Russians were very friendly and polite. All in all we really enjoyed the 2 weeks there and would certainly go back to the same hotel in the future. All the above points were outweighed 100 to 1 by the numerous good points on this holiday so please do not be put off going by the above comments.

Having just returned from the Dreams Beach Resort I feel I must give you an update on the sunbed situation. They have obviously listened to the complaints made previously and there are now hundreds of sunbeds and shaded areas. You will have no problem getting a sunbed whatever time you get to the pool
Beware - the walk down to the beach is VERY steep and the beach is not worth the journey. The sea is amazing but sooo deep. For a limited swimmer like me it was definately a no go area.
The food choice is very very limited Pizza, pizza and more pizza. Overall we had a great holiday and will return to Sharm again but try to find a hotel with a better reputation for food.

Just returned from the dreams beach resort last week. I would say if your looking for a week in the sun then Egypt is a fantastic location, we never saw a cloud in the sky for 2 weeks. Fantastic is where that word stops though. The hotel on the whole was pleasent but definately not 5 star. To be honest the whole place needs updating and upgrading. Rooms were quite clean and very spacious, although fixtures and fittings were were a tad on the dangerous side. For example if you plugged something in the whole wall plug came out which was poor. One coke and one fanta plus two bottles of water were supplied in the mini bar which i thought was on the tight side. Asked if they could supply some beer to the room we were told definately not in no uncertain terms. Some of the staff were nice although it seemed you had to get two ignorant ones before you got a nice one. Food was bland and repetitive. If you like rice with something or pasta then you'll love this place, for me though i like a little more variety. Animation team were busy and friendly but were no better or worse than any other team anywhere in the world. Also if you like the crazy frog song then book up now as they like to play it every 10 minutes at the highest possible volume. My family and i enjoyed ourself as we made the holiday what it was. You should know that the drinks are served in the smallest cups i've ever seen. seriously small you have to see them to believe them. But the red sea is nothing like i've ever seen. The coral reefs and those amazing fish are worth the trip alone. Overall the hotel was ok but certainly not 5 star, 3 at best.
Fantastic winter holiday and great hotel
by TripAdvisor Member Robert and Jo
Just returned from a week in Egypt - a lovely winter holiday with temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius. The sun would rise at 5am-6am and go down 5pm. The mornings were warm and it cooled off at 3.30pm – perfect for those who like to be in the sun all day. At night the temperature is much cooler, so if going this time of year a jumper/light jacket would come in handy.
Dreams Beach resort is a 5 star hotel and great value for money, although not all elements are to English 5 star standards. From reading reviews from other people we felt that they have made many improvements recently – plenty of sun beds with soft mattresses and sunshades. The grounds are immaculate and kept clean constantly.
There is a lot to entertain children during the day and night - a play area, trampolines and slides into the pool etc. The archery and mini golf activities are very basic and we did not do these. The complex is big but hilly in some areas; guests can walk over to the Dreams Vacation Resort or catch a lift with on a buggy like train. Dreams Vacation was much quieter during the day by the pool, which we enjoyed on the last 2 days. They have sunshades like 4 poster beds, which are great for those who like the shade or have children. The pool guy even takes your towels and lays them out for you. You can have drinks, use the gym which is very modern and well equipped (people use it), have a sauna or Jacuzzi which are free if all inclusive.
There are several swimming pools, shallow and deep ones, however they were very very cold and it stopped others and us from swimming which was a shame.
The room we stayed in over looked the sea and had a terrace. It was air conditioned which was effective and quite quiet, mini fridge which was refilled every day, digitally coded safe (no key to carry around), a queen size bed with a quilt, chairs, hairdryer, bath and shower and not forgetting the bidet. Very comfortable for the week and cleaned every day. Although we went all inclusive and tea and coffee is available 24 hours a day or via room service we wished we took a travel kettle.
The hotel has an international buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and light evening food and hot/cold drinks available after 11pm on the terrace. The food here was varied as they have many nationalities to cater for and we found something each night. In the evening you can eat out on the terrace which we would recommend as it quieter and more romantic. The staff are friendly and funny and get to know what drinks you like before the end of the week, Khaled served us at night and Sherif in the morning – they were both very good. If you like desserts you will be amazed as they have a selection of about 50 at lunchtime and evening. There are other places to eat in the hotel, ‘My Place’ which you have to book and can go once per stay, we suggest you book this at the start of your holiday for whatever night you want as it does get busy especially Friday and Saturday. It is very nice and feels like a normal restaurant (made a change from the buffet) – polite waiter silver service, large wineglasses, piano – very romantic. However, if you have a good appetite you may need a snack later as the portions for the main course are ‘minialistic’. There is an Italian place by the pool that serves lunch - freshly made pizza, salad and chips. At nighttime you have to reserve a table which serves a 3 course dinner (we did not try here at night but it was busy every night). The Grill House is open at lunch and evening (reservations) and serves grilled meat kebab style (we did not try here either). The ‘Love Boat’ is fantastic and quirky, you have to pay for this and some nights are themed. On our first night it was an English night, we had salad/tomato soup for starter, T-bone steak and jacket potatoes for main course and apple pie for dessert. It was one of our birthdays this night and we were called up to the stage and everyone sung Happy Birthday and we were presented with a cake – it was a great surprise and funny. They had belly dancers and singers – all this for £14 a head.
It is safe to walk outside of the complex of a day and night. A good 15-minute walk takes you to a parade of shops and food/drink places. Gifts and souvenirs are very cheap to buy, as is water (15p per 2-litre bottle). The hotel also has a selection of shops, we bought some paintings which are fantastic – just remember to barter.
Sharm is an up and coming place and is developing very quickly, a great place for people who love snorkelling and diving but also those who want a relaxing break away in the winter.
Overall a very good holiday would not hesitate to go back to try soome trips to Cairo and Luxor as a week was not long enough. We would recommend Dreams Beach Resort.
Loved it !!!

I travelled to the Dreams Beach Resort on my own and found it a very safe and welcoming place to stay. It is a huge complex and I did something different every day / night. There were no problems checking in and the bellboy gave me a guided tour of the grounds as he carried my luggage to the room. I had a large room with a sea view; air conditioning and safe were free and the fridge was stocked up every day with plenty of water / soft drinks. The main complaints about this hotel on previous reviews have referred to the food / drink, sunbeds and staff attitudes.
There are lots of places to eat and although you couldn't describe the food as gourmet I enjoyed it (no bad stomach). I found the best place to eat was the main buffet for breakfast (loads of choice), the grill house for lunch / dinner (barbeque / kebabs) and the poolside restaurant for dinner (set menu with 2 alternatives). I don't think the hotel was full although it was still quite busy but I had no problems finding a sunbed or getting served at the bars.
I spent the first couple of days at the main pool and the barman Shreif was lovely and soon got to know what we all drank and had a top up ready as soon as our glasses were getting empty. After a couple of days I wanted somewhere a bit quieter so went to the 'beach' near to the love boat. Again no problems getting a sunbed and the staff were very helpful in particular Wahid who put out the sunbed cushions / towels and both Hamada and Adel on the bar.
The Egyptian staff can be quite reserved and are discouraged from 'fraternising' with the guests however most of them were friendly, helpful and loved to chat in English so I made lots of friends. I went into Naama Bay twice on the hotel bus (free) but didn't get to see the Dreams Vacations hotel which was next door but others told me it was also very nice and a bit quieter.
Overall this is a lovely hotel with plenty to see and do but might not suit someone looking for on site nightlife as there is only the hotel team with the usual karaoke / dancing competitions etc and a singer. It also has lots of steps / hills so might not suit someone with a problem walking however the hotel does have buggies which can take you around the complex. However I was not bored, met loads of friends and thoroughly enjoyed my stay so will look to see if I can book again for next April.

Has anyone stayed at Dreams Beach in Sharm el sheikh and if so do you know if it is possible to use the facilities at the sister hotel next door (Dreams Vacation)as we have just returned from dreams Beach last Thursday and agree with a lot of the comments posted. It is a lovely hotel but it's difficult to get a sunbed, seat in the bar or even the restaurant some nights. When we stayed there we thought Dreams Vacation was just the name of the health and beauty club. Now looking at the website I realise it is a whole other Dreams resort next door.As we are booked to go back in October I wondered if we could use the facilities next door as it might aleviate some of these problems. Other than that a beautiful hotel and can't wait to go back

Thanks thats really helpful. We were not due to stay at this hotel in March - but Thomas Cook changed our original hotel to this one because of problems they had with Hauza Beach. We had already booked for Dreams Beach for October before this change was made, but when we returned from there a couple of weeks ago we just thought it was too crowded. We enquired but it was going to be difficult to change to another hotel as October is pretty full in Sharm already!

sorry to be a pain but can you just let me know what facilities you can use on Dreams Vacation and if they are covered by your all inclusive bracelet or do you have to pay to use them.
Thanks in advance

You can use the pools and gym/leisure facilities. They have different colour arm bands for food there. They have some new water slides that are pretty cool.
