More about Falcon Naama Star

Falcon Naama Star

by TripAdvisor Member elliboo6

Having read recent reviews about this hotel i have just returned and had a good time, yes the food wasn't excellent but not so bad and the staff were very friendly and helpful and this made up for it. If you want a resonably priced hotel in the heart of Naama then this Hotel is a perfect choice.

The Holiday Rep Tarek was very HELPFUL

To Whom It may Concern

I have recently returned back to the UK from my holiday in Sharm El Sheikh,Falcon Naama Star Hotel and was very impressed and grateful for the help and support me and my family receieved from your local representative Tarek who we believe works for eastmartours!? We were able to contact him at anytime of the day or night which we thought was very unusual but we were very grateful for as we had a few queries about our excursions and return flights etc. He was always kind, friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome in Egypt, as tourists we are often very wary of local people but he made our stay very relaxing. It is for this reason we thought we should acknowledge how hardworking and professional this young man was and feel this should not go un-noticed. I would not hesitate to recommend lowcostholidays to my friends and family and will tell them to look up Tarek if they are ever in Sharm El sheikh. Overall a super holiday!

Kind Regards and thank you for your time in reading this email.

All the reviews are not good with regards to Falcon Naama Star Hotel, this is going to be one of the first good ones!!

I can understand people who were at the hotel before us had a hard time due to a new refurbished hotel and having teething problems!!

The hotel was lovely and clean, the excellent air conditioned rooms were great, over looking the pool area with the green turfed area. The pool boys were brilliant and would have your towels out for you as you come down in the morning, there was work going on around the pool but nothing to ruin your day. Drinks served at the pool throughout the day and they did not run out whilst we were there. There is a children’s pool but it was not in use whilst we were there. The beach was a 15 minute walk, which is a distance in the heat (that is the only thing I would have liked closer). It is a short walk into the main town which is ideal. The restaurant was buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we found the food fine and we enjoyed it, a variety of rice, pasta, potato dishes, vegetable dishes, fish, chicken, beef, there was also plenty of dessert and they done burger and chips, more for the children. For breakfast and dinner they also started to cook outside at the seating area by the pool bar and you could have omelette (for breakfast) or pasta dish (for dinner), so they cooke dit there and then for you. We had advice before we went to be careful with ice cubes, and rice, which we did try to avoid. There was only once we ate out. All the pool, bar, restaurant, reception staff are so friendly and helpful would do anything for you and are always very happy to help.

There was entertainment in three of the evenings we were there, which was belly dancing, dancers, magician, which went on for a couple of hours, we all found it good fun and a giggle. They held this in the restaurant area. They also held a karaoke one evening at the pool bar.

The bar was quite small, was in the corner of the reception and the seating area was also the reception seating area. There is a pool table down some stairs to the side of the seating area.

We did not see much of the rep Tarec, on our first day he showed us the trips that were on offer, he was not pushy at all. Apparently with the free pass to Hard Rock Café, we were told to ask reception but we did not go anyway. And with the beach we had to ask the reception for a pass to get on the beach.

Potential holiday makers beware

The Falcon Naama Star was said to be recently re-opened, what was not stated was the fact that the hotel had been stood empty, then taken over by the Falcon Group of hotels. They then re-opened the doors to clients without any cleaning, or general maintenence being performed. The general condition of the hotel and grounds is very, very dirty. The whole building is in a poor state of repair, and desperately in need of a complete refurbishment.
The office staff and heads of departments are like headless chickens, running around without direction
The food is very repetative, OK if you like plenty of rice and pasta. The sweets/desserts are almost non-existant. Upset stomachs were commonplace.
Bar drinks are almost non alchoholic , if you order your drink and allow the waiter to bring them to your table you will get the smallest ammount of spirit possible in your drink ( the exception to the rule on this point is the barman " Marco " who serves a honest measure ) The general rule of the hotel appears to be to give as little as possible as regards All Inclusive. If you complain then you can expect to be totally ignored by staff.
The holiday rep " Tarec " is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, apart from being very arrogant and insulting in his manner, he is'nt interested in dealing with complaints of any kind, his only interest is the selling of his excursions.
The pool area is overshadowed by a very large building site which is still in the early stages of construction. The childrens pool is unusable.
Here are some of the facilities listed by the hotel but NOT available :-
1/ A La Carte Restaurant
2/ Continental Breakfast
3/ Midnight Snacks
4/ DJ and Disco 5 nights per week
5/ Free enterance to Hard Rock Cafe
6/ Currency Exchange
7/ Various Wining and Dining Establishments
8/ Dive Centre
9/ Luggage Storeage
The hotel is rated with 4 stars, in our opion a lot more work and effort needs to be put in before it would rate a 2 star status.

Eventually the coach arrives totake you to the airport for your departure flight.

Don't go there!!!

Booked this holiday through low cost for a week all inclusive
Arrived 26 June. Have been to Sharm before and stayed in a 3 and 5 star so thought a 4 star would be ok. This was not a 4 star!!!!
When we first arrived we where going to request a move cause it looked so bad but thought we would give the hotel a chance as they seemed to be trying to make it ok. Lots of guests before us had had problems and complained so we stupidly believed things would get better as the management appeared to be listening to complaints.
Hotel was advertised as having alacarte restaurant and a gym, It had neither.
Only snacks during the day where at 4pm and they consisted of pizza and chips which where disgusting and I will normally eat anything!!!
Coffee was so weak I couldn't drink it!!!
Our air conditioner leaked in our room and after reporting it 3 times and constantly emptying the bucket it was fixed. The smell of drains was terrible. Sometimes you could smell it in the dining room.
The majority of guests including myself and my husband had diarroeah and vomiting. The only time I didn't have it was when I went to the beach for the day and didn't use the hotel all inclusive.
The beach that the hotel allocated for us was so small and overcrowded we had to pay for a private beach.
In the middle of our week the hotel filled up with egyption guests and they seemed to be the priority. The jacussi was unusable as it was full of egyption kids playing in it.
One of the guests was accosted by a receptionist asking for money due to a poorly relative!!!
prior to going there we had booked a late check out due to our late flight. On our last day we tried to confirm our booking and where told we could only have the room till 5. Considering there wasn't even a public shower to use that was no good to us. Once my husband had given them extra money the room was extended. What a con!!!
We tried to get a drink at 6.30 pm on our last day and we where refused as they said all inclusive finished at 12pm on check out day. They seemed to make the rules up as they went along as for other guests it didn't finish.
The rep, Tarek was the rudest rep I have ever met. He wasn't interested in anything we said.
I would never book this hotel again.
The only good thing about it was the room cleaner who was lovely and the other guests we met. Without them it would have been a dreadfulv holiday. Thanks you lot!!!!!!
I was going to post photos but someone beat me to it.
This hotel is a con. Don't waste your money.

best holday ever

4 star? 0 star!

by TripAdvisor Member Waunboy

Reading all the previous reviews I can only agree that this hotel is totally misrepresented by the tour operator!

After reading the first two reviews the night before we travelled I rang Lowcostholidays and directly questioned them on the lack of facilities and the building works, they assured me that there were NO building works at all. On arrival it was very evident that the hotel is situated next to the construction site of what will be the biggest shopping centre in sharm! and the work on the site is carried out seven days a week morning till night!

The room we were given to be honest was good overlooking the pool area across a newly Turfed garden. Other than the room the rest of the hotel and its services were dreadful! However the newly turfed area was dug up over the next week to install a sprinkler system with workmen there from morning until early evening!

The food was very poor repatative and totally geared towards the local egyptian market. Food was recycled from one meal to the next. and yes all four of us in our party had to make the trip to the pharmacy and get medication for diarrhoea and stomach cramps costing £20 - £30 per person. In truth every western guest we spoke to had also been ill and the main topic of conversation was where the cheapest pharmacy was!

During our stay after four days we stopped eating and drinking in the hotel despite having paid the all inclusive option (which was useless and well covered by other reviews on here).

As others here have said loads of the quoted services did not exist although they did start a disco whilst we were staying, which amounted to a music centre blasting music out next to the pool bar until midnight, however the pool bar closes at seven and all drinks must then be obtained from the hotel reception bar, which is only staffed if the restaurant is not busy!

During the two weeks we were they on each Wednesday through to Sunday the hotel was full to capacity with local Egyptians on cheap weekend breaks staying 7 or 8 to room, the pool was totally overcrowded with children as the children's pool is woefully inadequate and the queue for the restaurant was huge and took some up to an hour to get a table

On our last day our flight was leaving at at 11:30 pm, we requested a late check out and were told that it would not be possible as the hotel was again fully booked, we then requested use of a shared day room or shower and were told this was not possible, however we could leave our bags in recption and go out for the day (as the hotel facilities would be overcrowded) as you can imagine we were very upset by this and decided to check out at the very last moment in order to use the room up to the deadline of 12 noon. From 8:00 am on our day of departure the cleaning staff started knocking and trying to enter the room to clean and force us out as the next batch of locals had all arrived early and were crowding reception.

I could go on but I think from the above you would probably realise that we will never use this hotel ever again and would not serioulsy consider any hotels from thew Falcoln chain although some have good reviews on here.

Thanks everyone

We booked this hotel before any reviews were available. We decided to check it out again last night before we travel on 4th August and Thank god we did. I went to Co-op travel 1st thing this morning and they phoned Escape the tour operator, who phoned the hotel and guaranteed 100% that the hotel was all ready now and that all the facilities were available. I asked if we could swap hotels and at 1st they said no but after a bit of pleading they agreed to let us change hotels. So thanks to all you reviewers you saved our holiday xx

Thanks-You truly have saved our holiday!!!!

by TripAdvisor Member char217

We booked this hotel a while ago before there were any reviews available. When we booked this hotel through travel rep there was no mention of any building work going on or any mention that most of the amenities where not available. This was Even the case when i phoned up again to try to get some reassurance that hopefully things were not so bad. But only to be told yet again that there was no building work, the hotel was lovely and new and to ignore reviews written as they were not fair and told not to pay any attention to them ( My question to them.... 'well whats the point of holiday review sites then', If the hotel was truly finished and everything was in working order then surely the reviews on the travel sites would paint a different picture!!! )

By the reviews it sounds like the hotel is not fit for purpose just yet, I truly feel for those who have been subjected to such an awful ordeal and yet they are still advertising this hotel for holiday makers.

I truly am grateful for the honest reviews on here already, because not only have they saved our holiday from total disaster but we immediately changed hotels (which was very long winded and stressful as holiday rep were still adamant that the hotel was fine. After many emails/phone calls etc..they finally gave us what we wanted), i am now 100% happy with our new choice of hotel, and look forward to travelling to egypt now.

Thank you for all the honest reviews below without them we would be traveling to this hotel on the 6Th of august and surely would have been immensely disappointed when we got there. ...............You truly have saved our holiday!!!..

Does anyone know the above hotel in Naama bay? - 6 of us are staying there at the end of August for a week. I can only find reviews and info about Falcon Hills and Falcon Viva which are in different locations. I've booked this hotel for July and according to the travel agent it was only finished in January, and is trying to build a good reputation for next year so it should be lovely. Plus with it being brand new there won't be any problems with the look of the hotel. Its in Naama Bay so is right next to all the restaurants, bars, shops etc and the beach is a "short walk away".

I will post a review when I get back (end of July).
