Mirabel Beach Resort - Fantastic

We went to this hotel 28th September to 13 th October.

The hotel does look absolutely beautiful. Our room was spotless. I agree with everybody else that the hotel entertainment was rather poor.

The beach and pools were fantastic. Weather was great 30+ every day.

Food was good to average, what do you expect for an all-inclusive??

Too many Russians, still, they did provide better entertainment than the couple doing the singing, especially when they were worse for wear. BTW, You can go and ask the male singer and they will let you do a karaoke song or two.

The waiters and staff were nearly always looking for Tips or presents, so be aware, Only tip if you think they are doing a good job for you!!!

Snorkelling is fantastic at the beach up the path. Just go to the path which seperates the beach and turn left. Keep walking until you hit a hotel which is being built, carry on walking round and you'll find the one I'm talking about.

Taxis are cheaper and a fun ride if you go out of the hotel complex to the road. DO NOT pay anything over 60 Egyptian, £6 english. You should really only pay 50 Egyptian though!

If you want to watch the footy or get a typical English breakfast goto the Camel Bar or The Tavern (Breakfast). Great pubs and good atmosphere.

Overall me and the missus enjoyed the holiday a lot and will be going back with the kids next year when the slides have been built and the waiters speak better english.

You really cannot fault the place for the price we paid.

We have been back a week now from our excellent 1 week stay at the Mirabel Beach Resort. We arrived at the hotel about 5pm 16th Oct,and straight away you are struck by how grand the hotel looks. As soon as you walk off the transfer coach you have to walk through a metal detector and into the main lobby area, which is pretty amazing to see. Whilst we were waiting to be checked in, there was a bit of a wait hence the coach full of people, but we were all given a glass of cold cranberry juice, but don't be worried about having the drink as it is made with bottled water!the staff were very efficient and did their best to get you checked in as quickly as poss.

Pools:- There are 2 huge pool in the hotel, another pool just for water polo, and then 2 or 3 smaller paddling pools for young children. the pools are spotless and cleaned every night, they can get a bit on the chilly side, but you appreciate it as the weather can get quite hot! When you check in you also get towel cards, which can be handed in at the towel huts around the pool area in exchange for a beach towel. All towels are cleaned every day so there is no sweat share!!!

Bars:-There are plenty of bars in the hotel, which is great as is saves you walking from one end of the hotel to the other. For starters there are 2 beach bars, but there was only 1bar open, probably as its not high season. 3 pool bars and at least 4 really nice bars inside the hotel. There's a bit of choice on the drinks menu, but nothing to shout about but all free if you are all inclusive, they have their own Egyptian lager called Sakara on tap, and a list of about 10 cocktails which are quite funny to read on the drinks menu as some of the famous cocktails have been renamed big time! all local spirits are available eg vodka, gin, rum. Soft drinks are all the real mcoy, coke, sprite, fanta etc! You can get free bottled water from every bar, which is a big thing when on holiday, just saves you time going to the shop every 2 mins. Ice cream is also free, and again no probs with the ice cream or ice cubes, as its all made with bottled water. and last but not least there is coffe, tea, cappachino. Irish coffee is available but at a charge about £3.50 sterling, but a bit of advice, if you do fancy one don't get them from the hotel bars as they are weak and a bit tasteless, get them from the irish coffee guy in the main restaurant, believe me they are the strongest Irish coffee's you will ever have!!

Food:-The food is excellent,breakfast is probably the best, there is everything you can think of from omlettes to american pancakes. Lunch and dinner are very similar, but there is plenty to choose from and something for everyone. Everything is cooked properly, and if you feel that you would like your food cooked that bit longer as some parts of the restaurant are cook while you wait, the staff will be more than happy enough to do it for you. The best thing we found about the food is the egyptian desserts, and in this hotel there are a serious amount of desserts to choose from, but overall the food is at a very good standard to say that its an all inclusive resort and there are huge amounts of people eating at different times.

The hotel:-Whilst we were there i'd say the hotel was 90% complete, the only things unfinished was a restaurant and a few shops, and when i say unfinished i mean just the interiors, but they worked through the night to get it finished asap.
The hotel definately deserves the 5* rating for the decor, there were always gardners maintaining the upkeep of the gardens, or constantly cleaning the floors everywhere and the floors around the pool. the rooms are also really nice, very clean and modern looking, all with aircon, mini bar and the largest pillows you will of ever put your head on! Rooms are cleaned to the highest standard everyday, all with electronic safe, but we never experienced or heard of any problems with theft from the staff or guests. Whether you get a pool view or a sea view they are both impressive. The entertainment was a total let down, it's some kind of male and female duo with a keyboard and a microphone, but i don't think that neither of them knew what to do with them! just one word(TERRIBLE) if you like ace of base being sung twice a night every night, you will love this dynamic duo! The staff are great, can't do enough for you, also really friendly. One issue that seems to crop up alot is the question of a jetty! the hotel doesn't have a jetty, but it really doesn't need one. If you go to the hotel stretch of beach turn left and walk 100 metres you can use the hotel's jetty nextdoor.

Health spa:-The spa is great, its all finished, they have the largest jacuzzi you will have ever seen. also 2 sauna's, 2 steam rooms, gym, 8 massage rooms, but we went to book our Thai massage which is also at an extra charge £25-£30 sterling but the rest is free and we were told that the staff had finished on the 18th Oct and had gone back to Thailand, so anyone who had it in mind i'm affraid they won't be available! Everything is spotless in the spa, it's great to go in for an hour after a day's sunbathing.

Just a couple of points to watch out for whilst your there. On the beach there are a couple of locals that sell newspapers and mags, we heard a british couple saying they bought a daily mirror paper and he charged them £4.50 sterling(bargain). the second thing is the day you go home and everybody has got their luggage outside, there is luggage everywhere, keep an eye on yours as there is no system what so ever. They ask you which tour operator you are with, but there can be 3 flights with the same operator all going to different parts of the uk! So just keep an eye on it and double check which coach you are on, as they will put your luggage on any coach there!!!

Overall a brilliant hotel, recomend it to anyone, can imagine it will be expensive to stay here when it's totally finished and well established.

Returned yesterday 22nd October after only seven days at the Mirabel, wish we had booked for longer. Excellent spacious accomodation, service second to none with the whole complex being continuosly kept very clean and wide variety of fresh food in the two restaurants or at the poolside snack bars.Essential to go all inclusive to this brand new hotel which certainly deserves it's five star rating. Excursions for diving, snorkelling or 'Bedouin experience',can easily be arranged but anyone who just wishes to stay on site will not be disappointed. We had a great time and would happily return there in the future.

Superb homeymoon!!!!! very relaxing time

We have just returned from the Mirabel, we had a fantastic honeymoon, and would definately return to this hotel. We had never been to Egypt and we went with many reservations about the place, however, we had a fantastic time and the people are lovely. Yes, you do get hassled in the shops but a firm No! will surfice. The hotel is still opening up little by little and during our stay many of the shops were up and running and another restaurant had opened. The staff are willing to help you with anything and they don't expect a tip they are just happy to help. I would recommend sitting in the same place around the pool and then the pool guys will get your towels move your beds and get you drinks. There is always a cleaner around doing something, the toilets are very clean even down at the beach. They get a little busy in the snack bar near the beach and sometimes the food and drinks are wrong or slow, but they are run off their feet and they really want to please, they are only human!! I went up to one of the men in charge at the snack bar and complimented on how hard they worked and what friendly people they were! for the rest of the week i got served immediately by this guy or he told one of the others to do it and are food was served fast! So a compliment means alot to them !! Beware the Henna Tatooist!!! he starts off with i have a nice design for you and starts writing on you with his pen for an out line and it seems it's a invitation as soon as you let him do this he goes and gets the henna, but you won't get a firm price out of him and the price changes because he starts adding more to it and the price goes up, we got stung for £60. This guy also owns a shop in the hotel, its a barbers and hairdressers, agree a price before he starts, he only owns this and doesn't do the cutting or shaving. You can't miss this guy he walks round with a folder, i've yet to see him use it cause he's always got a good idea!!!!!!

The food is good, there is defenately something for everyone, we were in formed by a Thompson rep. that all the food is washed and the ice cubes made from mineral water. The beach is a good place to go if you find it too hot around the pool as there is a slight breeze down there and we found the sea warmer than the pool, but i would recommend buying from the shop some water shoes if you intended to walk out towards the ship wreck, because the coral becomes sharp and will rip you feet open, and also there are sea urchins some way out. And also if you walk along to the jetty at the next hotel, you definately should wear the shoes to go into the water, its not deep but there are sharpe bits on the sea bed, even as an adult if you don't wear them, please put them on your kids. The snorkling s fantastic, but if your not into this it doesn't matter cause there are loads of fish to sea just standing in the water. Take a walk right along the path to the left of the mirabel, right to where the path ends and keep going onto this beach, it's a fantastic beach and loads of sea life!!

Rooms are cleaned but for added measure i took some anti-bacterial wipes and went over the room when we arrived and perhaps a couple of times after this. And it's true the cleaners will just come into your room whenever they want, so i would recommend putting the chain over, we forgot one EVENING! and boy did we have to move quickley!!!! The Russians are loud and like a drink, but i wouldn't say that they are a problem, not when we were there. I could go on with advice, but there isn't anything bad about this place, the food's good, all around is clean, its friendly. You don't need a visa if your just going to the Sinia area. so when you enter the airport go to the queue's on the right. If you've time to e-mail the hotel do, to book a taxi with them and someone will be waiting for you, we paid 17 euros, on the way back we went to the taxi man again in the hotel and paid £10 sterling. They will try and rip you off, they have a living to make, but they will come down in price if you barter or say NO! and tell them you'll ask another taxi, they'll soon take what you offer.

Overall our honeymoon was great and we will be returning to Egypt, I would love to say back to the Mirabel, but i think once people know about this fantastic hotel, then it will never be available. Have a great time, don't expect too much activtity, it's more a relaxing place.

Hotel itself was immaculate, very new and "posh". The rooms were large and spacious, bathing facilities were great. The pools and surrounding areas were well kept and clean. Bar and restaurant areas were also hygenic. Overall everything was very new so nothing to complain about.

The food was good. Not great but good. There was a variety in the main buffet, including: carvey, pasta, various hot foods, salad and an array of desserts. Overall food was very nice, and different from the usual pizza and chips you may find in other hotels. Pasta was made to your liking and so was other items such as omelette for breakfast. Soft drinks were available at the buffet, yet alcohol and hot drinks had to be ordered through waiters.

The waiters were freindly, if too over-familiar. They teased young children whilst eating, yet it was all in good jest. We had a waiter that showed us tricks each night which kept children entertained. Our waiter service was exceptional, asking if we wanted a refill everytime our drinks became empty. They even bought us back soft drinks which were easily accessible, but they were more than happy to do this without us even asking. They made friendly chat and were overall very good. However, after speakin to other holiday-goers, their service was very different, very poor and sometimes did not receive their drinks untill they had finished their meal. We came to a conclusion that if you are freindly and polite (and sit in the corner next to one of the waiters stations) you get a quicker, better service. Also try to sit in the same place each night, then you will get the same waiter, and therefore a more reliable service.

The 3 pool bars were good. These served the more traditional english food of chips and pizza meals and snacks throughout the day, food was of good quality. One pool bar just served beverages and ice-cream, and service was a bit slow, but there was only one barman, yet it was still acceptable. Also, if you sat in the same place daily around the pool, a waiter would come and bring drinks to you. So that was a bonus.

Cleaning of rooms was impeccable, the cleaners even folded up all clothes and towels that were layed around. They made animals out of towels every day which was amusing for children. However, our cleaner was very over-familiar. He tryed to show me how to make one these animals, and stood behind me while showing me. Quite inappropriate. Also, the cleaners came in even if the "do not disturb" sign was on the door. If you do not want unexpected visitors, put the latch on the door.

Overall, great holiday. Fab setting, not that much to do except relax, yet it was mainly to hot to participate in anything, I would reccomend traveling in October or May, avoiding the extremely hot summer months. Other holidaymakers we spoke to that had previously visited shrm el sheik insisted that this was the best hotel that had visited in the region. We felt it was superb and are just about to book a return to the mirabel. Their was a slight language barrier, but we visited once it had just opened, so there should be improvements. Overall it was great, would recommend it to anyone- plus you return with a great tan (be sure to use over factor 20 of suncream, as burn and blisters came up easily)!!

We have returned two nights ago from our 3 week stay at the Mirabel. It shall remain, for many years gone and to come, the most memorable holiday that we have taken. This hotel was magnificent. For a place like Egypt, I was amazed by the quality of the hotel, the food and the superior services. The environment of the hotel was breath taking. There was a man made lagoon filled to the brim with exotic sub tropical plants, and a gorgeous lake that surrounded the hotel, it was pristine. It is a brand new hotel, and the decor is wonderful, a right feast for the eyes. Everything was made of marble and there were gold ornaments throughout the hotel, unlike anything I had ever seen at a hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and would go out of their way to accomodate to your needs. The rooms were very nice as well, the beds were orthopedic and I found it very relaxing, espcially after a session at the spa center. The food was gorgeous, and every night we feasted on a wide variety of different items. The seafood was superb, and I would recommend the surf and turf ( Grilled King Lobster, Kobe steak and Jumbo prawns). For the money we paid, we couldnt have gotten better value anywhere else in the world, and I would like to consider myself quite a well travelled person! The best man to speak to in England is Shawn Hakim at Travelsoon, who is based in Romford, in Essex. He is very knowledgable, he's only been to Egypt 12 times! He knows his product very well and has an enormous bank of knowledge. Overall, one of the best deals I have ever had.

We booked for the last week on September and first week in October.The hotel rates as one of the best I have ever stayed in !!
and I have been to a lot of so called 5 stars BTW.
The rooms were spacious and clean and cleaned daily by male staff to a very high standard ,who by my wifes admission put most housewives to shame.
The main restaurant in the evening had a ambiance of a restaurant and not a large canteen, the staff were attentive and we always had drinks when we wanted them.
The food was by far the best of any all inclusive i have been on and unlike me, my wife who is a very picky eater, was able to find food she enjoyed every night.
All the staff were very friendly .
The resort had 3 large pools and some smaller child pools with plenty of sun beds , so no worries about getting up early to grab one.
The resort has a beautiful spa with a very , very large jacuzzi and 2 steam rooms and 2 dry heat rooms plus private massage .

The beach was of a fine shingle , I would recommend beach shoes especially when you go into the sea due the the coral around you.The sea never gets higher than your knees and you are able to walk out to two large wrecks and snorkel around looking at the fish and coral.Service is OK on the beach .
A great place , the most relaxing holiday I and my wife have ever had and we have no reservations about recommending this resort for this time of year.

Hotel beautiful but agree with many when litle problems need to be ironed out. Pool area, rooms, restaurants etc exceptionally clean, they seemed to be cleaning 24 hours. Be careful of the hotel taxi, we used it one night to go to Nama bay, the driver drove at a 120kph, it was a white knukcle ride! The beach was good especially if you have little ones, you could walk about 200 yards and still only be knee deep, beach was kept lovely and clean. There were waiters on the beach but they never seemed to do anything.
We too were told the hotel had 4 restaurants, but you have breakfast in one and lunch and dinner in the other, the Al a carte menu was not very impressive. There was plenty of food and alot of choice, but got a bit boreing doing the same thing every night.
My Daughter wanted a tattoo so asked the guy that roams around daily, we asked a price and he kept saying he would do a good deal, I also had one done but was very shocked when he said the total cost was 800 egyptian punds (£80)!! He then said that he should have charged us £130 but gave best price! Be very careful of him, get a price before you decide. We were later told that one guy has been thrown off property for ripping people off, not sure if it was this guy but sounds like!!
Staff very friendly and helpful especially cleaners of the rooms who would show my Daughter how to make various animals out of towels!
Agree with many regarding evening entertainment, they had 2 singers nightly who sang the same things every night and the male singer sounded terrible, a cross between hulio englasias and a pub singer!! The girl singer ok but no enthusiasm in either of them. We went to the "Variety show" which we thought would be a change, it was run by the 4 annoying animation team members and well the show left alot to the imagination, it was that bad it was funny. dreadful, it started at 10pm and by 10.20 all 40 people watching had left the show, dont even bother, settle for Rene and Renata in the main bar! And the Russians dancing more entertaining.
Animation team would set you up for the day at 10am every day shouting on the PA system with the same tacky music, if I ever hear that song again I will go mad, I think others will know what I am on about. They catered mainly for the Russians and Italians.
Arriving in Nama Bay it is very noisy and my Daughter (15) was pestered beyond comprehension. Not having being to Sharm El Shiekh before and being an avid Turkey lover, we were told it was similar to turkey, how wrong!! Yes they were all friendly but too eager to rip you off, all in all we were ripped off 6 times
! Be careful.
Were not impressed when we had to be out of room by 12 noon and we were not leaving for airport until 6pm, asked if we could keep room on and it cost 45 euro per person, most I have ever paid is £20 per room.
All in all hotel very pleasant but could do with better entertainment, will not visit Sharm El Shiekh again, do not like being ripped off and hounded.

Just got back from the mirabel beach resort hotel,nabq bay sharm el sheikh,Its a new all inclusive hotel that only opened august 2006.although the building work is not quite finished completely( only the finishing touches to do) it did not spoil our holiday at all, A well planned hotel with all the facilities required to ensure a quality holiday,several bars,restraunts,good sized pools. Behind the beach front hotel is a health spa for those who enjoy to pamper themselves after a hard day of sunbathing.Whilst the food was in good with lots of variety, the service from some of the staff needed some improving(there were signs that the management knew this because we witnessed some severe rollockings)
On the whole i would recomend this hotel, and we do plan on going back to see it in its full glory when completed,we are assured this will be within the next two months

staying at mirabel beach first two weeks in may for our honeymoon, have heard mixed reviews on this hotel and was wondering if things have improved recently ie; is all building work complete, whats the food like? anyone know what the tummy upset situation is like in this hotel. whats the temperature like in the evening in early may. any comments would be much appreciated. thanks, carol
