Hi I'm going on honeymoon next month to nabq bay and staying at the laguna vista resort all inclusive. I was wondering as its the first time we've been away by our selves does anyone know the hotel? is it nice? and whats not to be missed while we're there. Thanks Kate

Going on 5th Feb to Laguna Vista and just wanted any hotel info and also will the weather in Feb really be sunbathing and getting a tan weather ??

Could anyone tell me if there is a shuttle bus to town from Laguna Vista and if there is, is it free and how many times a day does it go? Is there anything around the hotel (not on the property) like shops, restaurants etc. Have they improved their entertainment to include the english speaking visitors? Do the superior rooms with direct access to the pool have loungers or chairs on their terraces? Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide.

There are plenty of banks, ATMs and money exchanges in Sharm. I only had my ATM cards (as well as a few Egyptian Pounds from a previous trip) and that all I needed.
It may be adviseable to bring some US Dollars into the country when you need to pay for your visa. I think they also accept British Pounds (see other travel tip)
The mangroves growing in Ras Mohammed are important ecologically.. Mangrove forests are used in stabilising coastal lines and maintaining deposits also serve as breeding place for fish and other aquatic creatures as well as settlement haven for migrating and resident birds. They are truly lovely
Being a Muslim country, 5 times a day they will be called for prayer, the call to prayer is heard at dawn, at the midday, about the middle of the afternoon, just after sunset, and at night fall about two hours after sunset. You will see Muslims stop what they are doing to pray on the streets, in the Airports, shops so be polite and respectful to not disturb or walk past being loud and ignorrant. It is common courtesy to respect another persons religion.
I didn't have a problem with Mosquitos in September 05, but on returning in April 06 i was bitten quite bad, im not sure but think so could be because it was much greener after there winter.
I even had to purchase some Antihistamines from the local chemist to take the swelling away along with some gel total cost 100 EGP - (10 GBP) if you are thinking of traveling this time of year make sure to get some repellent and sting/bite relief.
On the other hand John didnt get bite once, they obviously sweater tasting blood.
This is well worth a visit about a 2 hours plus. The drive through the Sinai mountains and dessert was breathtaking.
The Monastery is were Moses saw the burning bush.
You can also ride camels up to the monastery as it is a bit of a walk.
After lunch we drove to Dahab were there are lots of sov shops cheaper than Naama Bay This is were you start to see the real Egypt.
