Horrible Hotel

Hotel located behind the highway with heavy traffic. Distance between room and the beach might 1 km. Same distance between room and breakfast place. Everything is old, corroded fountains, broken marble tiles and etc. Every night some construction works around the pool. Very expensive wireless internet. Very limited liqueur's selection. Nothing in the room bar except 1 bottle of overpriced water. Sauna's size is 1 m X 2 m. Beach and pool area full of flies. The hotel claims that it is 5 stars, but it is not!

Unique Quality: You feel like living in an abandon for many years hotel. Scary at nights!

Best Hotel in all of Na'ama

We're just back from a week in the Jolie Ville and I have to say it is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff will do anything for you and always have a friendly smile on their face. We stayed in the sports area which is the area furthest from the beach but the walk was beautiful and it was €200 each cheaper to stay there. The sports area has its own freshwater pool and bar which are never busy as many people stay by the main pool.

The hotel itself is fabulous. Its bright, airy, spacious, well air-conditioned and spotlessly clean. The walk form one end to the other is full of spectacular flowers, trees and greenery - they are a credit to the gardeners who work around the clock to keep them in the condition they are in! The hotel supplies free golf cars to shuffle the hotel residents from one end of the complex to the other so when you're tired, too hot, or not too pushed on crossing the road, these cars are a God-send!

Breakfast here is a fantastic and beautiful mix of continental and national cusine - even the pickiest of eaters will find something to munch on! My only fault on the entire place would be the buffet dinner which isn't great at all. But there are so many restaurants around Na'ama (incl. KFC, McDonalds and Pizza Hut for the kids) that its probably easier not to go all inclusive.

We got this place at a bargain price cos we booked it last minute. Would definately go back. Book the Bedouin Dinner, Snorkeling trip to Ras Mohamed and Quad Biking Trip through the Desert all through the hotel (it's a bit dearer but well worth it!) as the agents they deal with are top class compared to the trips organised by the companies on the street.

Happy village indeed!

The hotel is the most centrally located one in Naama bay but it still keeps its charm and tranquility. It has all the facilities of a 5* resort hotel, all in good quality. I definately enjoyed my stay and and I will stay again here when return to Sharm.

Unique Quality: Central location, beautiful gardens and bungalows.

Pacha in our hotel room

Have you ever heard a boy racer pass by with his in-car sound system racked up to the max and heard the THUMP THUMP THUMPER THUMP from his system penetrate the inner recesses of your head?

Ever wondered what it would be like to lie in a hotel room at midnight and hear the same thing? And at 1am, and 2am, and 3am, and 4am, until between about 4 and 5am? Well if you get a room on the wrong side of this complex you can! Pacha, ex Ibiza, is alive and well in Sharm, and it is situated less than 200 metres away from the cheaper rooms and suprisingly the superior room that we paid for. You can't get away from it if your room has windows that face the nightclub area. At no point were we told about this. Indeed when we booked we told the travel agent we wanted a quiet and relaxing holiday.
Our room was changed, and on the third night and subsequent nights we were able to sleep, but be aware, because this could be a shock to the start of your holiday.

Unique Quality: Unique in-room entertainment (bass only).

My Hotel Choice for Sharm

The Movenpick Jolie Ville is my regular hotel in Sharm. The rooms are good sized, nice and very clean. Beach access is good for those in the Preferred and Palm Areas and there is a good snokeling reef accessable from the beach for those who don't want to venture off to the regular dive sites.

This hotel is located close to dive shops that offer boat dives and close to the main strip in Na'ama Bay for night time activities.

Make sure you specify if you want two twin beds or a full/queen if you request a double room.

Unique Quality: On the Beach

Several Dining and Entertainment Choices

The Price is Right

This hotel was a pleasant surprise after spending a night next door at the trashy Coral Beach. I even paid less per night at the Movenpick which was definetly 1-2 stars better than the Coral Beach.

The customer service was great.

The rooms are huge with very clean bathrooms and spacious sitting area.

Great Location

This is a fantastic hotel with amazingly attentive and friendly staff. The grounds and rooms are spotless and lovingly looked after. The hotel has a gorgeous beach and two jettys off which you can (and must!) snorkel. The food options are good and buffet breakfast is lovely with fruit, cakes, omlettes, breads and yogurts. Best bit is it is open until 10.30am so we could lie in and still eat brekkie!
We did a trip with the hotel to Ras Mohammed which was well worth it. Also did Thomson trip on the quad runners into the desert at sunset. This was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it to all - great value!
Namma Bay is a lovely little resort with loads of restaurant choice. The Dragonera Chinese restaurant was well worth a visit and so cheap!
We loved this place and plan to return next year for our honeymoon!

Unique Quality: Great location right in heart of Naama Bay.

Perfect hotel, perfect location

by TripAdvisor Member rush2112

Having been moved from the trluy awful Sonesta Beach Resort after complaining vociferously to the Kuoni rep, we were delighted with the standard of cleanliness, accommodation and food that was offered by this hotel.

The staff were constantly on the go keeping the gardens in superb order and cleaning the windows, pathways and buildings (outside as well as inside). The food on offer within the hotel is of the highest quality and the choice at breakfast is superb.

The pool at the hotel is fantastic as is the beach which has superb coral reefs just offshore within easy swimming distance. Both the pool and beach have plenty of sunbeds available.

The attention to detail within this hotel is almost OTT! We couldn't believe at the end of the day that the poolside staff were out with tape ensuring that the sunbeds were aligned perfectly for the next day!

The location is as central to the shopping, restaurants and nightlife of Namma Bay as you can get, though you don't hear any noise.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sharm.

Not five star

by TripAdvisor Member grahamggm

Stayed a week 5th feb 2006, booked with Longwood.
Booked a room in the so called " sports area" this is an annexe with its own seperate breakfast area which on the only occasion we ate there was full of suited buisness guys from conference centre.
This however is not the main problem, the room originally allocated was a "route march" from the main hotel involving crossing a busy dual carriageway which is a nightmare to negotiate.
Having reallocated second day at further cost which involved discussion about the cost of transfer {686.40 egp] we found the main hotel was fine.
Agree with most of the other reports in breakfast in "oranangerie" was excellent as was the attitude and service of most of the staff, also food at beach bar was good and reasonably priced.
Casino attatched to hotel was awful only had eygpt pounds so unable to bet!! cant use our pounds either only dollars and euros.
Animation staff were invisible most of day no activities except for pool aerobics.
Dont expect Eupopean 5 star standards this said the hotel staff in general did try hard.
Did not have the pleasure of meeting the Longwood rep although in fairness we did not attend their "meeting".
We had a relaxing week at the hotel but marred by problems.

Maritim Jolie Ville Resort & Casino (Formally the Movenpick)

by Heavens-Mirror

Hi Fellow vt'ers
I absolutely love the Maritim Jolie ville resort and casino hotel in Sharm el sheikh after looking around it when i was last in Sharm. I have priced it up for me and my fiance for next march as we are wanting somewhere warm at that time of year............

but my problem is the standard double/twin rooms have now sold out and they have only got the annexe rooms left? Yes they are cheaper but they dont sound as good. I have read that they are across the road from the actual hotel. Please can anyone tell me more about them?

Kind regards,
Stacey x

hi stacey just booked a holiday to go there next june and the best deal was with thomsons who have booked us into a palm front room - i also read on trip advisor that one lady stayed in the sports area and although it was across the road and further from the beach the accomodation was just as good and it was a lot quieter and practically had the pool to herself - hope this is of some use, regards jane x

Not to contrradict your other review but i have read lots of reviews on this hotel as I am going in 3 weeks and I have booked the Preferred Front rooms. I have read that the annex i.e sports side you get woken at 4:30am from the mosque as they are calling for prayer.. and 4 more times throughout the day...not sure how accurate this is though?
