If you are in Cairo stay...
by INDO
If you are in Cairo stay someplace nice like the Meridian, the Nile Hilton, or the Baron. My favorite place was in Dahab at the Novotel.
Green Valley was approximately 20LE a night.
The Novotel was approximately 200LE a night. The Novotel has everything. The Green Valley has nothing except an alligator. A bed, running water, and a roof was also provided.
africa's finest
by abdulwa
the services in african hotels are on the average to my opinion.some are not to the standards compared to the western ones but they can give you all the comfort and relaxing you need without any problems.they have facilities ranging from where you choose to stay.a 5 star hotel or 4 star hotel has almost all the facilities you can think of and africa is not left behind on the facility factor.the services are superb. there are hotels like the novotel hotel hotel,la palm beach hotel, the sheraton, and a lot more depending on the country you are in. they have a ll the facilities you can thing of and the location and view you want.
NOT 4-STAR ANYMORE !
by DAO about NOVOTEL - BUJUMBURA, BURUNDI
The Novotel should be as good as it gets in the center of town. Unfortunately it has a reputation as being grubby, hot, dirty, in disrepair and over-priced. It is a ‘4-star’ hotel with a full shopping complex and the best swimming pool in Bujumbura. This slight high-rise offers everything from poolside drinks, to a nice restaurant, souvenir shops, money exchange/transfer and even a tour operator for excursions far and near. You can definitely see the rich and powerful of the Burundi elite including the odd General or two sitting around the pool area.
So what do you get?
24-hour reception, buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, a large room with a bathtub, children stay for free and there is car parking. Rooms are air-conditioned, but there are reports that it often does not work!
Business facilities: Meeting room, presentation equipment
Extras: Doctor on call, Massage services, room service, deposit box, children's play area.
Complex facilities: Restaurant, sauna, beauty salon, currency exchange, outdoor pool, Internet services, swimming pool, tennis court and private car park
** DAO’s VERDICT**
For this kind of money you should not stay here. Go for a swim in their pool, have a drink and just visit. It should tell you there are problems when you cannot see pictures or book this hotel on Novotel’s own website!
Luxor, Novotel
by Joenes about Novotel Luxor
This is a perfect 4 star hotel I stayed in as part of a very cheap last-minute package deal so I don't know the normal rates.
The hotel has everything and more, like a swimmingpool that is floating in the Nile.
For a backpacker like me hotels keep boring me though...:-)
The most popular place in town
by kushari about Novotel, Luxor
Average 3* hotel. Rooms face into the reception area or onto the street, or you can pay to have a perfect Nile View.
Relaxed informal atmosphere, many tourists from other hotels come here for a drink and a game of pool in the downstairs bar or for a sunset drink in the rear gardens, facing the River Nile.
Beware the lifts do not always work. The pool was a bit chilly and I was told it was only heated at certain times of the year. I was there in the month of November which I would have thought was "a certain time of the year".
The Romance pizzeria in the gardens at the rear of the hotel serves piping hot pizza and the most perfect pasta.
If you're vegetarian, this is the place to eat.
Loved the Novotel

Stayed at the Novotel with my boyfriend in January of this year.
Check in was great, quick, hotel staff very friendly, we were given a drink and asked to sit down while he checked our details. First impressions of the hotel were great!
However we were taken to a room where the front door opened onto the busy main road, really noisy. So we asked to move, found out he had put us in that room because it had a larger bed, but we moved anyway to a much nicer room, nice and quiet!Smaller bed, but we didn't mind. Bed was comfy, plenty of storage space int he room. TV, nice bathroom, no bath, just a nice big shower.
The hotel is lovely and clean, beds and towels are changed everyday. Absolutely no complaints.
Breakfast is good, loads of choice. The usual, fruit, cereal, bread, pastries etc. The chefs are very friendly, making fresh omlettes and pancakes and fried eggs, however you like them.
We ate at the Novotel beach bar everyday, the food was lovely, You can sit at the beach, or by the pool.
The beach is nice, they comb the sand every morning which is a nice touch. The sunloungers are comfy, don't make your back ache and at this time of year there was plenty.
The pool is nice, big and clean. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, all green with lots of plants and trees.
We didn't eat at the hotel at night, we went into naama bay, it's only a short walk, less than ten minutes. The indian restaurant at the Camel Resort Hotel on the main street in naama bay is lovely, the italian next door - Pomadora is also really nice and cheap! Seabass, lamb shank all around a fiver. Curry is only about £5 and a really nice atmosphere too. The indian has an open kitchen and is outside in a little courtyard. I recommend it!
If I went to Egypt again, I'd definitely stay at the Novotel, it's in the perfect location, nice pool, lovely beach. A really good spot for snorkelling, loads of coral reefs.
not for children

Just returned from trip. We had booked to stay at the sister hotel NOVOTEL PALM across the road. It stated to have good childrens facilites, childrens pool waterslide and playground which looked good on a website photo, family size rooms as we have two children aged 2 and 5 years. Only on arrival in resort could we only find the Novotel main hotel . The new Novotel Palm should have been opened a month ago which we were never notified of by our travel company. The Novotel is a nice hotel but really caters for just couples. Very clean hotel, buffet breakfast fine, pool heated just enough to cool you down in the hot sun. The lack of childens facilities was made up by the hotel being right on their private beachfront with no problem finding a empty sunlounger. Crossing the road behind the main Novotel which we did on one occasion (everyday if we had stayed at the Novotel Palm) is very dangerous due to the busy dual carriageway, we didn't even feel safe walking along the pavement with our children. With hotel chains like the Hilton next door to Novotel expanding over the other side of this road without proper pedestrian crossings is very dangerous. If you like a peaceful silent evening having a drink or reading a book on your balcony you may be dissapointed here as the hotel is fairly small and about 60% of the rooms look out to the nightly entertaiment which run's till 11 everynight and very loud. I did have to ask for a quieter room due to the noise and could move the next day facing away from the entertainment area. Staff were very helpful,a small tip such as a Dollar bill or two goes along way with the housekeeping staff we found, large soft bed pillows appeared from nowhere !
Highly Recommended!

We booked the Novotel via the Accor Hotels website, using their 'Favourite Guest' card - allows up to 15% discount on bookings for an annual fee of about £70.
Service at the hotel was superb - without exception, all the staff were friendly and cheerful, and always ready to help. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and abundant - really far too much to choose from when contemplating a day's scuba diving.
The rooms were airy and comfortable, with a decent sized bathroom and balcony/patio. We were allocated rooms 1109 and 1110 which were near the main road. This did cause us a few concerns, but the rooms are well soundproofed so caused no problems.
The Novotel is spotlessly clean, right on the beach and a short (10 minute) walk from the centre of Naama Bay. The facilities are excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone!

I stayed at the Novotel for a week at the beginning of October and have booked again for next year! It has a beautiful pool and its own private beach. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly, food is good and its only a 10 min walk into the main town.
