  • All inclusive - not the greatest deal!

    by

    Good news/bad news.
    First the bad news:
We wanted a week with guaranteed the sun, not too far to fly. We chose the Radisson Blu and had a Marine Club room because it was 'on sale'. We had bed and breakfast terms which proved to be a lucky choice. The quality of food on offer in the all inclusive deal was pretty average - think school meals quality! If your idea of heaven is as much bland food as you can eat then the all inclusive is for you! After having turkey that was so overcooked that it was inedible we decided to try the Italian restaurant instead. Il Grotto served pizzas but the restaurant next door served a much wider menu - beautifully presented and much much better than the buffet meals. We had more than enough to eat each night and, even including wine and drinks, we were paying marginally more that the cost of the buffet meal. Breakfast was pretty disappointing unless you like eggs, cheese or rather dodgy looking frankfurters! Plenty of dry, bland pastries and sugary cereals - fine if you like that sort of thing but certainly not what I would expect from a hotel of this quality.
The hotel was not particularly 'on the ball' with their organisation either. On our first night, just back to our room from the pool, we received a phone call at 6.15pm asking if we had been invited to the Manager's cocktail party. no invitation received and it had started at 6pm so by the time we had showered and got ourselves organised the party was virtually over. On the morning we checked out we received an invitation to attend the cocktail party that evening - 8 hours after our departure! As we were leaving early we tried to order room service for the morning we were leaving (breakfast in our room was free of charge on our deal) but they failed to collect the notice! The hotel is close to the airport and it is extremely noisy at times-The planes are powering off until late and start before 6am. The drinks in the bar varied - the charge was always the same but the measure of spirits in the glass varied considerably and was not always the regular brand but local hooch. They advertised football matches in the pub on 'widescren TV' - small portable TV is more the size!!!
However the good news is that this place does have its plus points - beautifully landscaped grounds which are immaculately kept and the staff are brilliant - very friendly and uber helpful. It was one of the few hotels who stick to an environmental policy - they really did leave our towels on the rail unless asked to change them and the main hotel turned off its electricity for 'earth hour'. Would I recommend it? Hmmmm....possibly, but I feel that for the money there are nicer places to go for your winter dose of sunshine.

  • Theft's!!!!servants theft money from safe!

    by

I want to tell about hotel Radisson Blue Sharm El Sheikh. My girlfriend come to this hotel 3 days ago and she keeps money in safe who belong to Radisson Blue property. You and only you answer for it. Somebody of servants theft her money from safe!!! It'll be bad for all of your reputation! Nowcitizen Oborina Anastasia Pavlovna is "resting" in your miserable hotel. Think about this. If you care about reputation you solve problem of theft's.

Unique Quality: Only sea and sun make my girlfriend happy!

  • Radisson B&B Beach side

    by

Room v big & roomy. Staff kept it exceptionally clean. Rec a Marine/Sea view rm-extra but worth it.

Food was ok. Some places better than we expected & some worse. Do not rec Tradewinds rest. The Brasserie v good, ate there 2x- it's most expensive but service was brill and food gorgeous.
Pizza at the Grotto v good. Beach & pool bar serve sandwiches and such throughout the day, all pretty average.
We only had the buffet at breakfast, & did not eat there for other meals. It looked ok, but we were not keen to deal w/ trying to get our food with everyone running around at the same time.

Really only a couple of issues with hotel. One that the room towels are so hard they can scratch your skin. Pool towels are not like this, so not sure why they are not laundered the same way.

Other issue being the bar/staff. Some of them do try, but they do not know how to make proper drinks. Do not make mistake of getting mixed cocktail as you will be charged a fortune & there is virtually no alcohol in it. The bar staff needs to be trained to reflect the standards of where the guests are coming from. Weak drinks and slow bar staff just do not work at this type of resort.

Billard table in lobby you can hire & it's rarely used. Not v. expensive either.

The staff were v accomodating when we want ed to change rooms from 2 single beds to a king size. Booking must've been mixed up, but they resolved it v next day and moved us. We were able to have a late check out which was very helpful.

All in all I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Next time I will bring a private stash of liquor though. (you can't by this in town, some places sell it, but it's all pseudo stuff, like Fineland vodka and Gordoon's gin, instead of Finlandia and Gordon's)

Hotel is near the airport, and occ. you will have a v low flying jet zoom over you, but for the most part this was not v often.

There is also a lot of construction going on, but the side we were on already has an hotel that is open, so we were not disturbed by it.

Unique Quality: Pool was beautiful and very refreshing. Kept extremely clean. We saw a guy vacuuming it almost every minute of the day.
Beach was nice but you could fry sitting out on it so we stayed by the pool. Lots of shade near pool for those that don't want to burn to a crisp (as surprisingly many seemed to want to do)

Directions: Nabq area, 10 mins from airport.

This is now called RADISSON GOLDEN RESORT NOT SAS G R which is on the beach side, older and not AI. I would say that it is a very nice hotel but not a proper resort hotel as in the main as these have shops many restaurants and bars and are on a large site, but it is new and trying to get it right. The rooms are all very spacious with 2 oversize single or 1 King size bed in the premium rooms. If you get Premium room you are on the 3rd floor and get a sea view. The 2 pools are great, one of which is heated. The hotel has its own bit of beach and AI bar across the road. The food is all buffet, and is ok but a little dull in the evenings. We decided to eat in Naama at night. The inside bar also has 'entertainment' but it depends what your used to. There is a small amount of building still going on at the rear, should be finished for this summer, which is going to be a bedouin tent for the kids entertainment in the evening and small units which Im told are to be shops, so that should improve things. There is a small but well equipped gym, ask for directions, got good new stuff and a nice jacuzzi (inc) steam and sauna and massage rooms (extra), and tennis courts at the rear of hotel. There is a lot of builiding going on in sharm area and across the road, but it didnt disturb us apart from one day. The staff are very friendly and always smiling and saying hello. The hotel has a bus to Naama which is 15LE each return (about £1.50) takes 30mins or taxis 50LE one way (£5) takes 10mins! Personally I wouldnt stay in this hotel again, but we would come back to Sharm , but for 1 week not 2. Its a great place to visit in April when Europe is too chilly. Main problems with hotel- only one beer pump available round pool, bar service too slow in the evening, not enough variety of food in the buffet at dinner, and not enough bars.

Unique Quality: The pools are great and are not too deep, and have large shallow areas. The rooms are well equipped and very spacious. Manager and staff very friendly and helpful.

Directions: 10 mins from Airport turning right on the main road.

  • Fantastic Hotel

    by

I've just got back from Sharm El Sheikh & had a fantastic time. The Radisson hotel was fantastic and the staff very friendly. It's quite far from Na'ama Bay - about 1/2 hour on the hotel's (very slow) shuttle bus, so your best getting a taxi every night which only takes 10 minutes & costs you £4 - Use the hotel taxis located in the hotel car park - much nicer cars than the local taxis.

Unique Quality: The pool & the landscaped gardens are the Radissons best qualities - The main pool is huge, and the gardens & waterfalls beautiful. If you like snorkelling, you will like the Radisson as it has it's own jetty & coral reef & many different types of tropical fish. You can hire snorkels & masks from the on-site diving centre, or buy your own from Na'ama Bay for about £8

All Inclusive

by kinkycat about Radisson SAS - Golden resort

Hotel - Radisson SAS Golden Resort.

The golden resort is All inclusive and situated across the road from its sister hotel Radisson SAS (Half Board). The Golden Resort Hotel is very nice, pleasant, clean and has friendly staff the two swimming pools are fantastic with good pool entertainment and you can also try diving in the pool. The food is OK im quite fussy with my food so some nights wasn’t that good for me e.g. Seafood night. They tried to do a variety of food but still seems like your eating the same stuff. The beach is a 10minute walk through the sister hotel Radisson SAS or you can get the beach bus only takes 2mins or so. The beach in my eyes is not ideal for small children as to get into the sea you have to use a jetty which the metal stairs are steep and the waves can be very strong. The sand isn’t very sandy more like shingle sand, so I got a bus to Namma Bay which costs £1.50 each there and your return journey and pay £2.50 to use one of the hotels private beach which has lovely soft sand and you can hire pedal boats and do little trips etc
Where the hotel is situated there is nothing to do in the surrounding area so you have to rely on the evening entertainment at the hotel, which is quite poor, or do some evening excursions. The boat trips are fantastic to do snorkelling and you see the amazing fish!

Treated as a Maharaja

by shivan about Radisson resort

We stayed at the Radisson Resort El Quseir, the first week in May this year.
As you may remember there have been some terrorist attacks in the Red Sea the week before, even if far away from there.
The result have been:
RESORT CAPACITY: 500 PEOPLE
EMPLOYEES (MORE OR LESS): 200 PEOPLE
GUESTS (MORE OR LESS): 100 PEOPLE

add to it the all-new structure, the beach vicinity, and some other things and the sum equals to MAHARAJA.
Fantastic!
The people is so nice, the service very high in quality, very good food (ever inflating belly).

They simply say "for us tourism is life..." this is not an happy thing to hear, if you mind that, but we arrived to the resort after about 80 kms drive from Marsa Alam, and, boy! there is NOTHING in between!
I cannot imagine how could they live BEFORE these two resort opened!

We're going to stay at the Radisson SAS Resort late January next year. Could anybody pls tell me what this Hotel is like, and what there is in Nabq Bay area. Are there any Restaurants/Shops within walking distance, or would we have to go to Naama Bay? Also, what sort of weather could we expect in late January. I'd be really grateful for any info. Thanx.
