I was in Sharm in February a few years ago. Although I cannot remember an exact figure for a temperature It was certainly a T shirt weather during the day & may be a long sleeved shrit in the evening with a light sweater (just in case) .. I did enjoy the heated outdoor pool although some others didn't mind jumping in the sea .. I hope this helps !

I was in Hurghada for a week around Christmas several years back.
It was nice and sunny and sure better than over here in Europe, but it was rather windy all days I was there - perhaps I was just unlucky, I don't know. Long sleeves, pants, there was almost nobody at the beaches for sunbathing or swimming.

Travel Tips for Sharm El Sheikh

Fabulous holiday with fabulous weather

by Jouval

Hi.

If staying in your resort, you will not be bothered at all. Should you venture to the main town, then u will be bothered every two seconds. We really enjoyed Sharm but could have done without the hastle in the main town (which incidentally escapes me at the moment ...sorry) If you do go, keep walking and ignore the shop vendors who all want to invite you to ''their'' shop..... Most frustrating. If you like a bit of fun, book a quad bike trip in the dessert. Its much easier than you may think, and you will really enjoy it. The obvious trip of course is snorkelling which gets 100 out of 10.

Enjoy. !!

Dougie The snorkelling gets 100 out of 10. The quad bike trip in the dessert is for all ages and is superb fun. Very good value too.

Lots of hotels

by Hexepatty

There are lots of hotels. You simply must decide how far you want your money to go. Most of the Coastal hotels are not walking distance to town... which means a cab is involved. And most coastal resorts that are nice mean expensive food on property. TRADE off... You can stay at a coastal property In TOWN but it won't be as nice, but the variety of food / bars will be much more varied. You do the own math!!! I liked being with Lutz... the most. And then the sealife, and then the HOT WEATHER! Some like it Hot?! I NEED it hot! Just regret the HORRIBLE sunburn, and the inablity to do certain things on my back due to bad sunburn.

trimming a palm tree

by om_212

the territories around and in the hotels are extremely green and well kept. it is amazing what man hands do to keep it booming and thriving in the middle of the desert. while staying in Hilton, I observed a man trimming palm trees.

Hand sanitiser.

In your bag put in those little hand gels you can buy from your chemist. Alot of people get a bad tummy when visiting Egypt or Turkey, and i've found that if you have the sanatisers, you can avoid this by using it frequently. After handling the money, as it gets quite dirty and after going to the loo, or pretty much after touching anything. Just use a squirt everytime you're going to eat and probably safeguard your tummy. Remember it's very hot in Egypt, so you need to travel light. Alot of things you can buy there for very cheap too. For men, alot of hotels ask that you wear full length trousers to dinner, and woman might want to cover up and not be too revealing if going out at night, away from the hotel. Although in naama bay you should be fine, as it's very cosmopolitan. Beach shoes are a good idea too, you can buy them in most shops. Haggle and get them alot cheaper. Woman take your own sanitary stuff as you'll get ripped off out here. Take your own paracetamol and other normal day to day meds, as chemists will only sell you these at very high prices. That's if you don't get sold viagra, which every chemist seemed to be willing to give you. You can buy cheap disposable underwater cameras for a few quid here and the photos actually come out really good and clear.

Swimming in the Red Sea

by belgrade03

Beautiful, warm sea, ideal for swimming.
There is no sea weed, but only sand on the bottom, instead. It's like you are swimming in the large pool with sand on its bottom since the water is crystal clear. There are small corals even along the beach, and fish are only located near corals and coral reefs. Swimming suits
