~ Fabulous Location.....Right in Naama Bay ~

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, i booked it at Thomson before i started working there & had heard lots of good reports about it.

It has a fabulous beachfront location & is in the centre of Naama Bay, where all the action is, restaurants, clubs, bars, shops, watersports etc you name it you can never get bored here. Theres always something to do & many places to see.

We got a warm welcome at this hotel, all the staff we very friendly & we got to know the Shisha man at this hotel, there is a gorgeous open rooftop where you can smoke Shisha & watch the sunset over Sharm with a ice cold beer.

Unique Quality: The pools at Sonesta is fantastic, theres plenty of space to chill out around the pool area & there is plenty of sunbeds for all the guests...but you do need to get out early if you want a good seat for the day.

There are plenty of places to eat at Sonesta, theres the Red Square restaurant which serves Russian Cuisine. I enjoyed the Beef Stroganoff here & the prices were good too. There is also an A La Carte Restaurant which serves Italian food & they play live music too which is relaxing.

Then there is the main buffet lounge which serves buffet food at night & there is live entertainment. You can go halfboard at this hotel but i prefer to go bed & breakfast as eating out is cheap & there is lots to choose from.

Arabic domed rooms around a romantic swimmingpool

During our first stay in Na'ama Bay we visited the Sonesta Beach Resort daily and spent a lot of time at the private beach of the resort as paying guest. So we had the intention to book this hotel for our second stay in Na'ama Bay. Unfortunatily we couldn't find an appropiate package deal from the Netherlands. In the resort we found out that several travel agents skipped the resort because they started to sell only all inclusive arrangements.

At the main entrance at the Peace Road are two cannons just for decoration, though the security check at the entrance is very severe. So you are not allowed to enter, if you are not living in the hotel. After talking with the reception and the manager we were allowed to walk around the complex while wearing a 'visitors' badge.

In the complex are several shops and boutiques, restaurants, bars, a rooftop terrace, a dive centre and a private beach.

Unique Quality: We especially liked the white arabic domed rooms, situated around the inner garden dominated by the romantic swimmingpool with a lovely bridge.

Awesome hotel!

we stayed at the sonesta beach hotel in august 2004. it was on the last week of our month in egypt so we only stayed for 5 days, which was regretted as we had such a good time and were desperate to stay longer. we received a warm welcome upon arrival, and all staff are very friendly, and do their best to make sure youre comfortable. we had a room by the pool side which was very convenient. the swimming pools are great. really big, separate one for children and thier is also a in-pool bar. the sonesta beach resort also has its own private stretch of beach which is amazing. however, it is shingle, and the futher out into the sea you go protective footwear is a must, otherwise cuts are inevitable. but it is worth is as the corals are amazing and the fish are beautiful.

Unique Quality: the hotel is right in the centre of naama bay where all the restaurants and shops are. its great at night, as its so lively right into the early hours, but unlike britain, completely suitable for children. there is always so much to do as the resort is huge and you can always pass into neighbouring hotels for a wander! views are amazing, weather is fantasic. food at the sonesta is also very good!! were stayed half board so had breakfast and most days, dinner at the hotel. for both there is such a wide selection of food, for all tastes, so there is bound to be something for everyone. it is all well cooked and presented, not what i would have expected from a buffet! also at dinner there is always entertainment in the form of music and dancing which is always wonderful!

april 2006

Stayed for two weeks at Sonesta Club hotel from April 6th to April 21st. I chose this resort because it was the cheapest hotel near Na'ama Bay. The hotel was clean the staff seemed to work long hours were fairly friendly. Our room did not have a window but a door leading out to a small balcony. the room was cleaned every day it had a small fridge, hairdryer and air-conditioning. the shower was brilliant lots of water.
The downside of the hotel was the resturant thank-goodness we went bed and breakfast. The resturant was very disorganised no cultery or crockery. The tables were dirty I did not see anyone wiping them. We held on to our cultery when we got some! There was plenty of food but always the same; danish pastries, small panacakes and omelettes(cooked fresh), yogurt, slices of cheese, cereal. I got very bored with the same breakfast everyday but you do get what you pay for.
The hotel pool was clean but there were so many people trying to get sunbeds we would get up at 7.30am and their were people already around the pool. The beach was very small and crowd we could'nt get on it.

Unique Quality: It was cheap! We went to the beach everyday there are two Public Beaches you can go on .The first Public Beach is next to the Novatel Hotel we paid £6.00 englsih pounds to stay all day for a sunbed and towel. the snorkelling was brilliant of this beach We went every day and saw lots of fish and beautiful coral. Wewalked (we did not have children) across the busy Peace Road through Sonesta Beach Hotel gardens which were lovely to the promenade walk to Na'ama Bay with the beach on our left and the various hotels to our right. The walk took about 20 minutes and at night it was great the lights on the palm trees and around the hotels were beautiful.
We found a fantastic cheap gift shop and a shop were we bought out water and juices. If you came out of Sonesta Club Hotel and turned right walked for a few minutes you come to several shops next to the Blue Reef hotel. The man in the gift shop spoke good English friendly without being to pushy we got some cheap t-shirts, towels, belly-dancing skirt and ashtrays.

Nice and huge hotel in Naama Bay

The hotel is very nice, but huge.
We got a room far away from the swimmingpool area and the reception. It took us about 5 minutes to walk from our room
If you plan to stay here, ask to get a room close to the reception or swimmingpool.

Be also aware that this is a "italian" hotel. Huge crowds with italians stay here during the highseason.
There is entertainment by the pool and by the restaurant at night, in italian.
For me this got really annoying. Because I didn`t understand anything. We didn`t even spend one day in the swimmingpool because of this.
The entertainment is really loud.

Unique Quality: The hotel is very nice! Nice spacy rooms.
And the swimmingpool area is also big, but not big enough when it is crowds of italians there dancing salsa!

Naama Bay hotel, not on the beach

Stayed at the Sonesta club for 14 days in september 2004. Overall satisfied. Clean, big rooms with balcony. Good service. We had bed and breakfast included in our stay. The breakfast buffet was all right but you had to que for a while for the fried eggs or omelettes.
80% of the visitors where Italians; noisy italians. They have a constant animation program going on from morning to evening. We preferred to go to the beach every day to get a away from the noise. The hotel uses the beach og the Sonesta Beach Rssort and can be a litlle bit crowded. 10-15 min walk to the beach.

Unique Quality: Friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel is 25 mins walk along the promenade to Naama Bay - not right in the centre. Nice pools, but some can be cold (I went in Dec 04) - excellent food, nice rooms, ask for an upstairs one! Poll bar snacks are loveley. Beach gets busy.

Local hotels on promenade road are worth stopping at for a drink - Novotel, Ghazala, Cataract etc!
