I am finally going back to Sharm after over 7 years since the last time I was there. I wanted to see if anyone else was going and maybe can hang out a few nights in town. If so just post up and hope to see you there!

Whenever you're buying anything from a 3 day excursion to some Papyrus Paper, always haggle to the best/lowest price you can. You will find a lot will be lienient with you, others wont. Remember neally every shop is full of the same things so if someone's trying to charge you for what you feel yis to much then kindly say 'la shokran' and walk out of the shop and try another one. That way there will be no problems and everyone can carry on as normal.
If you are planning on having a drink in the hotel room – get it from the airport on the way out. There is not really anywhere to buy alcohol from (apart from hotels/restaurants).
The other alternative is to go to Old Sharm within 24 hours of arriving in Sharm (It might be 48 hours but certainly soon after you land). You need to take your passport and quite frankly it would be less hassle to get it from the airport in England. If buying Cigarettes, buy them in this country too.
Buying duty free at Sharm airport is a bit hit and miss with the prices.
We were a little worried about dress code etc, but sharm el sheikh is just like any other european holiday resort. If you are a young girl you will get attention whatever way you dress, so we just dressed normally, but didnt walk around in bikini tops in town like you could do in spain.
going to cairo we dressed conservatively, but even then we were pointed at and stared at. if you get any hastle just ignore, if they are looking for money say 'mafeesh fluss', or if they are persistent a good *** off will do (utrukni wa schani)
remember -
if shaking hands shake with the right. the left is unclean, ame goes for eating in traditional retaurants.
women do not normally shake hands with men, and tis could cause offence. however, in sharm they are a lot more relaxed.
Cool and light clothes, you will not need a cardigan unless that is you decide to go up Mount Sini, it can be cool remember you go up there at night and wait for the dawn before you come back down Something for the dreaded runs, most people seem to get a dose while there
When i was in Sharm i went in Sea trip for about 7 hours in the great red sea .
the trip was wonderfull and if you go in group it will be so much joyfull . the activity is after go in the boat about 1 hours they stop the boat and they ask if there any one want to swim for about 30 min and after they came back to move then after 1,5 h they stop again and they swimm again but it,s so good because they stop near land and swim to it and back , it,s for me my first time and wish to do it again , after we move and in this time we have some food and then they stop again to have the most beauty activity , it,s swim again but near the Murjan . so you can see it clearly and you can touch it but it,s dangerous so i didn,t but it was the most wonderfull thing i do it . so after we bach to sharm . If you didn,t have some equipment for swming under the sea you can rent before the boat move and you can ask the boat manager to bring you some equipment .
