I have just returned from a week at the tropicana jasmine and we were disppointed. The travelagent told us it was a 4* plus hotel, in reality at best it was a 3 star plus, but more likely a 3 *. The rooms were the best bit, nice & clean but the All inclusive element was laughable, in that you could only get free drinks from the bar from 7.00 - 11.00pm, other time you had to pay.

The food although cooked well was very repetitive and I struggled with this after about day 3 of the holiday and we ended up eating out a bit. All in all the holiday was a disappointment.

can't understand why anyone has complained about it!!!

We have just had a fabulous 2 weeks at the tropicana jasmine and would without a doubt go back. The staff are very friendly and will do anything for you. The resturant is clean (no flies on the food like some people have said!!!) the food is the best all inclusive we have ever had, something for everyone and the staff are always checking that there's plenty out and the temperature of it so the food is always hot no matter what time you go in. The rooms are cleaned everyday and are comfortable with air con. The pool area is excellent but the pool is freezing but once your in it's okay. If anyone needs to know anything else i will be glad to help.

Relaxing,no hassle value for money holiday

My wife and I spent 4 weeks in Jan/Feb 09 and we had a really good chill out,not doing too much and eating good food. The staff were great and friendly and very helpful and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. There are a few problems which other travellers have picked up on,namely a cold pool and not the best bar ,but plans are in place to heat one of the two pools and extend the building where the presnt bar is situated, but none of this bothered us and we swam most days and never had a problem getting a drink. The rooms were cleaned everyday as was the bed linen if you wished so we have already booked another 4 weeks in Dec/Jan10 and looking fprward to it

don't listen to the moaners, you'll find them everywhere...

as this was our first visit to sharm, the whole experience was a new one.yes the pool is cold, but when the summer sun hits at 35* plus, you'll appreciate it!The staff there are very welcoming and the lunch/dinner menu is varied. It's a few minutes walk pass the beep-beeping of the taxis to the beach, and a little further to the hotel's beach where there are free sunbeds.look out for sam ,nelly, julia and bellu, the hotel 'animators',based around the upper pool.don't miss out on the egyptian evening,at the sister hotel which is next door, well worth 45le.

Jasmine (

by TripAdvisor Member MissS2009

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Jasmine Club Feb-March 09 and stayed for one week. Its was only a 15 minute drive from the airport which after the performance we had getting through customs at the airport was organised chaos. There was thousands of people all making there way through with no organisation from security or staff. Too many flights had landed at the same time and they just wasnt able to cope with the volume of people coming through at once Took us just over a hour to get through passport control then we still had to get the baggage.

When we reached the hotel first impressions where ok. It doesnt look much to look at from the front more like a set of apartments instead of a all inclusive hotel. We had some paperwork to complete at reception and was taken to our rooms. Safety deposite boxes where all at the reception desk which i felt a little awkward about i espect them to be in my room. Our room was basic with two single beds and the usual bathroom, tv and a little fridge to keep water in but they where clean and not a bad size. We had a ground floor room with a terrace that lead straight onto the pool area which was nice but the patio doors to this did not lock from the outside which was definatly a security risk for me as anyone could just go into your room. I think they where all made like this.

The Lobby bar is situated next to reception. For how many people that where stayin it just wasnt big enough, reminded us of someones living room with chairs and sofas everywhere!! They didnt play any music and there was no entertainment in it, all shows where outside in a seating area, which at the time of year we went it was too chilly to sit outside at night. Also there was no bar area out there so you had to keep getting up and walking back into the lobby to get drinks. Also the thing we didnt like was the fact there where no toilet area in the lobby bar, you either had to go to your room to use the toilet or the pool area next to it had a toilet which ment going outside to use. This bar only serves beer and hard spirits like vodka, whisky, rum, gin etc no wine is served here that is only available in the restaurant. You can still get soft drinks here though. All inclusive ends at 11pm after that time you have to pay! Depending what you want for night entertainment it was extremly dull and no atmosphere to enjoy, just people chatting and playing cards also very cramped and the cigarett smokes gets to you after a while!!! It is air conditioned though. There is a pool table outside next to the bar. We played it on our first night but was told by one of the bar men that if we wasnt with a particular travel company we had to pay for it, Which made me annoyed because end of the day you pay for ALL INCLUSIVE and expect to be able to use the facilites!!

We was staying next to the top pool which was very nice and i cant fault the cleaniness of it, however the pool is not heated so it was extremly cold so as you can imagine not alot of people got into it. There was a lack of sun lougers too. To gaurentee one we had to jump out of bed at about 6.30am and put our towels on them to save them because by 8am they had all gone!!
There is a pool bar which serves usual burgers, hot dogs, chips etc, however they put your drinks in little plastic ups which is understandable with it being around a pool area but they where tiny, they wasnt even enough to quanch your thirst so you had to get a few to save you keep going back every couple of minutes. The hotel has a private beach which is about a 15 minute walk. It is shared with the rest of TROPICANA hotels so it isnt actually private to your hotel only. Its is really small and it is shaded alot which isnt good if you want to sunbathe. Drinks and food at the beach is not included in the all inclusive you have to pay for these.

The restaurant was ok size wise and tables outside to also eat however i found there wasnt a wide varity of choice and the food serve wasnt that warm, Also the food had no signs next to each thing to let you know what it was instead you had to keep lifting up the lids on the trays to have a look so thats another reason why it wasnt so warm. The restaurant was clean however and plenty of waiters to take away your plates etc.

If you have trouble walking or are in a wheelchair this hotel isnt for you. There is no ramp access or lifts so everything as to be reached by going up stairs.
Be prepared to tip!! In the bars they expect you to tip and hotel staff such as baggage handler and room cleaner. We tipped or cleaner 50EP which is more then plenty for the week and her cleaned it every day, gave us fresh towels and made the beds etc. The room cleaners are all men, unlike when you go to Spain or Greece they are usual women, All the hotel, bar staff, waiters are all men even outside the hotel, because of there religion women do not work so everywhere is male dominated which didnt casue us any problems but if you where a young group of girls or a group of women id expect to get pestered n chatted up!! Some may like this some may not!

Overall our stay was ok, we just went for a week away to relax and we got that. If we stayed for 2 weeks i think we would of been bored after 10 days. if you want something more exciting i wouldnt stay here, there isnt much going on i wouldnt stay here if you have young children who need entertaining because there isnt anything for them. The hotel is filled with a mixer of nationallties, lots of english also when we stayed there was a few danish and russians and some isralians. I wouldnt say this hotel is for families it was filled with mostly older couples, with a few in there 20-30s. Also i would say it isnt somewhere for young and lively groups! Im 24 yrs and my boyfriend is 27 yrs we decided we didnt want anywhere crazy and wild this time like we usually go for just somewhere more laid back to chill but still with entertainment and fun but we found the nights in the lobby bar very dull and boring and just felt like falling alseep, only good side to it is you get the opportunity to make friends and chat to other people.

If you go out the resort be prepared to be hassled. It wasnt as bad as people where telling us but we still had people approaching us trying to get us in there shop or bar. Nama Bay is very tiny, i expected it to be alot bigger. the centre is filled with lots of shops and restaurants. Again not much going on with families with small children.

Overall our visit to Sharm el Sheik was the relaxing holiday we wanted and the weather was great but i dont think i would go back in a hurry and if i didnt id definatly stay somewhere else, somewhere with abit more to it, but not a bad experience i could think of alot worse!!

winter getaway

my boyfriend and myself have just returned from the JASMINE CLUB and really enjoyed ourselves.we were allocated our room but asked to move to be by our friends, this was done by 1.15pm the next day.they are big and very spacious and always cleaned with fresh towels etc daily.
The restaurant spotless, all serving staff wore gloves, and a very good variety of food and not repeated in the 2 weeks we were there .The staff here all friendly. a smile, and thankyou goes a long way,we were taken to a table each time we went to eat even the chefs greeted us yes we tipped but not in large ammounts, but they all appreciated it no matter the value.
Yes the pool was cold but more and more people got in during our stay .
there are a few steps to climb if you were on the lower level but we found a flatter route and was good.
walk to the beach was ok once you got passed the beeping of taxis. there is security in and out of the hotels so you're safe.
Be prepared to haggle for most things say a price lower than what they say ,have a price in mind and stick to it ,laugh walk away they'll catch you up and sold
IF you get any tummy trouble get ANTINAL (10le= £1.00 )don't get ripped off in pharmacie opposite gates there are plenty about where-ever you go walk-about.
ALL in all sharm is brilliant go see the colourful fish, and characters you'll love it .

Enjoyable break

After reading reviews for this hotel went expecting Fawlty Towers. What a nice surprise. Good location 15 minute stroll to Naama Bay 10 min to beach. !5 minutes to private beach but better snorkelling in front of Hilton. More reefs there. Food was very good all week always something to enjoy. Pool bar very good and staff worked hard to keep everything clean and tidy. Only gripe the night bar too small and haven,t quite got the hang of all inclusive

Very good value for money, clean and friendly staff!!

After reading bad reviews on this hotel I was quite worried about spending a week here!!

The hotel is situated about 10 minute walk from the beach and the main nightlife which is nice as there is no noise! Apart from the airport planes but you dont notice them after a day or 2! The Jasmine Club is behind the Tropicana Rosetta (its sister hotel) All inclusive guests can use the Rosetta facilities but not eat or drink here without being charged. The quickest way to walk to the beach and main nightlife is through the Rosetta hotel and out onto the main road, take a right and cross the road and walk through the Hilton Hotel grounds, this avoids all hassle from beeping and flashing taxi!

The reception at the Jasmine club is simple, there are no toilets in here and the bar is only open in the evening after 5:30pm (when the pool bar closes) The hotel only has one bar open at a time.

There are 2 swimming pools, both with swim up pool bars, serving soft and alcoholic drinks between 10-5:30 and serving chips, hotdogs, pizza throughout the day too! Both pools are clean but very cold!! very refreshing after lying in the sun though! Lots of people seemed to get up very early to "reserve" a sunbed with their towel, we were by the pool between 9-10 each day and we never had a problem getting a sunbed! The health club massage staff will approach you on your first day and offer you a massage, I had one... it was amazing, and cost about 25 english pounds for just over an hour! There are only toilets at one of the pools!

There is 1 main buffet restaurant in the Jasmine Hotel, breakfast it between 7-10, lunch 1-3 and dinner 7-10. breakfast and lunch both pretty similar each day, but a good variety of food, all fresh and cooked in front of you! Dinner has a different country theme each night! The hotel does not do room service, but does offer a "packed lunch" service if you are taking an easry morning excursion. The on site Italian restaurant was quite poor in my opinion, AI guests can use this once during their stay. The food was microwaved and the menu limited and not very italian based!

The rooms are quite large, with 2 doubles in, a desk, tv and en-suite and balcony with chairs and table. All clean, the shower is lovely, very powerful! We had our rooms made up everyday with fresh towels!

Overall a lovely hotel, clean, just what we wanted!!

What a pleasant suprise-
