I was only there for 6 days and spent the entire time on the hotel grounds as there is nothing for miles around. There were a couple of other hotels being built on the complex so soon it will be more lively I expect but at the moment it is a hotel for the sun worshipers and divers. All the staff were fantastic and very grateful for little gifts and tips as people leave - as I would be if I was earning £20 a month! In short Taba generally is good for a short break unless you are endlessly happy not having much to do or spending hours on coaches going on the trips provided. For expample I dont see the point of going on a trip to cairo from there 4hrs each way and about 4 hours to look around! I would have gone a little stir crazy if I was there for any longer though.
Oh - the food is good but gets a little repetitive after a while, the egyptian buffet evening though was fantastic. They advertise as having a restaurant as well as the all inclusive buffet. They dont!! It is part of the bar and from 7pm each evening the DJ sets up there and plays his selection of Hip hop & R&B.
