I'm considering a holiday in Taba in July. Have been to Sharm el sheikh (Nabq bay) a couple of summers ago and really enjoyed it, would you recommend Taba over Sharm or vice versa? Are they similar or very different? I know quite a few people who have been to Sharm but no one seems to have been to Taba so am short on people to ask! thanks!

taba is aquite place its more for snorkling and diving
sharm has go it all with much better nightlife besides it has so much secreats places which are magical

A must see is the small Island called The Crusaders Castle also called The Salah al - din Castle and Pharoah's Island ,so don't be looking for 3 Islands they are all the one. The time i spent in the sea and the wonderful Sunrise from over the Saudi mountians and of course the tranquillity of just sitting and watching the Sunset slowly drop below the Sinai mountians, pure heaven!

A unique and historic event. Swarms of locusts, moving across North Africa and North Sinai, decend upon Taba at the Seastar Taba, Taba Heights and Aquasun.
Huge red locusts !!!
Next day all disappeared !
In Taba you can go scuba diving or snorkeling in the Red Sea. I went in December and the water was wonderful. There are thousands of fish to see, corals and other types of plant life all under the sparkling waves of the sea. Or you can catch a ride on a glass bottomed boat if you're not into the water activities.
Next to the Hilton hotel, on the shore, is a "shack" where you can rent gear and a guide (if you want one). it cost me $5 LE to rent equipment to snorkel for three hours. mask, fins, air "thingy" to breathe through (I can't remember what it's called, sorry)

Just as me and my girlfriend was now going up too do this a storm come over and weather conditions prevented us from doing it i was really gutted as it looked so much fun this costs 20GBPp.p and they did refund us our moneyp.s they only have about 2 storms a year here in Taba so the chances of this happening if you want to give a go are very slim.
There are not many reasons of hanging around too many days in Eilat. Just cross the border and get treated to better hotels at a third price, more welcoming waiters and lots of nice corrals and diving spots.
Also as opposed to the built up landscape, get plenty of nice space, gardens and nice arhitecture for couple of resorts recently set up.

A: "Link to the up to date? Good luck ;-) The cost is about 20 euro, I guess it is for each direction."
