Truly Nirvana! by ct-bound An oasis in the middle of the world. Dahab in general was sooooo relaxing and such a wonderful place to stay. The Nirvana hotel had super friendly staff (ask for Anil, he owns the place), and you can't beat the location! Each morning I'd get up, have breakfast, stumble 10 steps across the boardwalk, put on fins and snorkle out directly onto the coral reef out front. Too cool!
Clean rooms, a fabulous balcony overlooking the ocean with a rocking hammock, and private ensuite bathrooms - all at about $12 US per night (double!). While we were in Egypt, my husband got quite sick and couldn't leave the hotel, so Anil went out and borrowed some video movies for him to watch on the VCR/TV in the lounge! Nesima towels by ct-bound Part of the time we stayed in Dahab, we were at the Nesima Hotel. A beautiful structure, all the rooms (although TINY) were built in the domed bedouin building style. They also had a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean, and a good restaurant (nice breakfast buffet too). At 65 Eu, it wasn't the cheapest place to stay in Dahab (in fact it might have been the most expensive!), but it was a nice place.
The housekeeping staff were great, leaving our towels folded up in great creative ways each day on the bed, one day, also covered in flower petals. Very nice. They have a dive centre, and run safaris using Bedouin Guides, with friendly staff.

old sphinx hotel by TomorrowsAngel We stayed at the Old Sphinx Hotel. It's located at the end of the main street and is only 5 minutes. It seemed to be undergoing major renovations while we were there, only half the room were inhabitable. Its kinda basic, but clean and tidy.
It backs down onto the beach, so you can shore dive and swim without much effort. The restaurant and outdoor kilim area were really nice with fresh juice and seafood available for reasonable prices. It is a nice place. There are many kinds of rooms visitors can chose from. The cheapest one is straw-made hub. There is a fan inside and costs LE15 per person share, a room can stay up to two persons, well you need to share batheroom with others. A room without aircon costs LE50. It's okay because at least visitors can have a private batheroom. A room with both aircon and private batheroom is LE60. There are also up tp twp persons in a room. What's is better is that there is balcony in the aircon room. You can enjoy the sunset ar your balcony. But there is NO pure water in the hotel, so visitors must wash their hair with salt water.
Unlike other diving school in Dahab, in Seven Heaven there are tow Japanese and two Koreans coaches. A lot of Japanese and Koreans come and stay in this hotel. Seven Heaven restaurent serve cheaper price food although you may need to wait up to 45 minutes in the sofa. It is a nice hotel, all the rooms have sea vieuw, if you want rext an qoutt you will find it here. The rooms are okay, but they clean the sheets everyday and the rooms are cleaned very well, and when Albert had his birtday they beaked him a huge cake, and sang for him! You felt there if you where on of the family. It is a bit away from town, but Coc will bring you to town. The blue hole is 50 minutes walking away anf on the bike it will take 15 minutes with a little wind, 20 with lots of wind!
The vieuw is great, the sea, and in the morning the boys on their camels an d in the afternoon too. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageDirections: on the north side of town, direction of the blue holeWebsite: daniela-hotels.com

We stayed here in 1999 and went back in 2004 - what a mistake! Food was awful, hotel empty, we moved after 24 hours.

Dahab is full of bedouin style camps. Bishbishi is among the friendliest and cleanest. It has a range of rooms to fit most budgets and these are all comfortable.
A great common area for guests to mix. This is set among the palm trees in the center of the camp and features a hammock and traditional seating on rugs and cushions. Dahab is a great place to chill out and a great place to relax after a journey from Jordan or Syria etc. The beach huts are incredible in that there are dozens of sights that offer dirt cheap rooms. You have to shop around because the standard varies dramatically from place to place. I finally settle for one that had warm water and a private washroom (double) for $5 US a night and this hut was only a 5 minute walk from the Red Sea and corniche area. Dahab is still a bargain and it is a great place to unwind.
