Rooftop pool and French Restaurant

We didn't stay here although on the next go around, we might just try to get a room there. The top of the hotel has a restaurant, bar, and a small pool, and there are great views all around. I didn't get a chance to see the price schedule, but I had assumed that his place is top end, but a recent review confirms this as a 3 star hotel with possible inconveniences in the room. But, a review as of 12/2005 gives a thumbs up as a good place for budget minded travelers. Check out the web links below and see what the current ratings are.

Unique Quality: As said, the roof top pool, restaurant, and bar made this place. It was quite busy, and there were a lot of Northern Europeans sunning themselves around the pool, so don't expect this place to be quiet and peaceful though. The French restaurant had good food, my notes say, but I can't recall what we had. I believe that I drank more than just a Stella though with my lunch. That is the wine list was surprisingly good.

Hotel

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night. The rooms were very clean, there was enough space and the staff was very friendly. The New Emilio is the perfect place for people who don't expect a lot of luxury. The breakfast was very good, more than we expected.

Unique Quality: There is a pool (we didn't see and use it because we didn't have time), it is quite cheap, the staff is friendly, the romms are clean. It was the perfect hotel for a groupe of students.

Hotel in the centre

The Emilio hotel is a upper mid range hotel with a good location in the centre, just a few blocks from the Nile. Shops and markets are nearby. Near the entrance of the hotel you can hire bikes.
Ask for a room with a balcony and view, because there are some terrible rooms without a view and balcony!
In the Netherlands it is possible to book this rather cheap hotel for a week with a cheap charter flight of Transavia on a package base.

Unique Quality: The hotel has a pool and chairs in the shade on the roof. The view at the Luxor Temple, the Nile and the town is very nice.
