    The Emilio hotel is a upper mid range hotel with a good location in the centre, just a few blocks from the Nile. Shops and markets are nearby. Near the entrance of the hotel you can hire bikes.
    Ask for a room with a balcony and view, because there are some terrible rooms without a view and balcony!
    In the Netherlands it is possible to book this rather cheap hotel for a week with a cheap charter flight of Transavia on a package base.

    The hotel has a pool and chairs in the shade on the roof. The view at the Luxor Temple, the Nile and the town is very nice.

    Emilio Hotel is a decent mid-range option at the heart of the city, close to Luxor Temple. Rooms are decently-sized and clean. They also have a nice pool on the roof deck where you could take pictures of sunset over the West Bank. If you want peace and quiet, get a room facing the minor streets, but you miss out the views offered by rooms on the front side facing the main street.

    I paid USD 25/night, which was USD 10 less than what I was initially quoted (May is not peak season). But I had to pay USD 15 extra for a 7-hour late checkout.

    We didn't stay here although on the next go around, we might just try to get a room there. The top of the hotel has a restaurant, bar, and a small pool, and there are great views all around. I didn't get a chance to see the price schedule, but I had assumed that his place is top end, but a recent review confirms this as a 3 star hotel with possible inconveniences in the room. But, a review as of 12/2005 gives a thumbs up as a good place for budget minded travelers. Check out the web links below and see what the current ratings are.

    As said, the roof top pool, restaurant, and bar made this place. It was quite busy, and there were a lot of Northern Europeans sunning themselves around the pool, so don't expect this place to be quiet and peaceful though. The French restaurant had good food, my notes say, but I can't recall what we had. I believe that I drank more than just a Stella though with my lunch. That is the wine list was surprisingly good.

    • Good hotel in middle range. Clean airconditioned rooms and a terrace with swimmingpool and view over the Nile and Luxor temple.

    I probably would not have enjoyed my stay in Luxor as much if it was not for the pool and the aircondition. The heat in the summertime is almost unbearable so cooling down in the pool after a long day in the temples is almost a must.

    We stayed at the hotel for 1 night. The rooms were very clean, there was enough space and the staff was very friendly. The New Emilio is the perfect place for people who don't expect a lot of luxury. The breakfast was very good, more than we expected.

    There is a pool (we didn't see and use it because we didn't have time), it is quite cheap, the staff is friendly, the romms are clean. It was the perfect hotel for a groupe of students.
