New heaven for spa lovers!
We had a fabulous time! We were pampered from top to bottom. I am feeling very relaxed. Excellent massages and saunas – a herbal one, a salted one and the laconium, all new and good standard. I recommend everyone to go here. The spa is opened while we were there so must have been there first customers I think. Very good. Thank you everyone at the resort!
Unique Quality: Pool sitting on the river. It was quiet and away from the busy part of town. Beautiful views and all brand new. Infinity level views of The Valley of Kings. So beautiful. Outdoor massage .

Luxor's only spa resort
That was one great stay full of relaxation, the hotel has undergone a complete renovation over the last 3 years, and was recently opened last October. The interior designs are a mixture of oriental and modern. The pool is an experience in itself, all rooms are supplied with Plasma screens and DVD players. Breakfast was nice and healthy. The staff are doing their best to make you feel comfortable, from spreading your towels to shining your sunglasses and offering complimentary fruit shish and Evian sprays for you convenience while sun bathing.
The Spa was not opened yet during our stay, but we had a look and expect it to be a super spa. If you are looking for sun, relaxation and a mixture of history and great Nile views I completely recommend the Hilton Luxor. Go pamper your senses!!
Unique Quality: The Only Spa resort in Luxor, the infinity pool and the wonderful pool staff

Top Quality Hotel
A real treasure away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Luxor. Top quality service from the staff, very freindly. Clean rooms, lovely pool, great food. The hotel have a bus that heads in and out of Luxor every 1 hr, or could have been every 30mins. Anyway it's great to go in and experience how people live in Luxor, all the haggling in the streets for souvineers, and of course there are the Ancient Egyptian Temples to explore.
Unique Quality: They even have a few shops on the ground floor of the hotel which was great to browse around. And if you feel unwell which can happen in Egypt, upset tummys etc. They get a doctor for you very quickly and look after you well.

Excellent Hotel
I stayed here for a week last (05) and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are all really friendly. Anyone staying here should call in to the gift shop on the balcony, even if only for a chat. One of the lads that works there, Kaleb, is really sound. He's very helpful. He also works in the museum at the Karnak temple so he knows all the good places to go. He'll be able to give you plenty of tips and was always more than happy to answer any of our questions whenever we called in to him. He has some lovely stuff in his shop as well. Unlike some of the shops in the town you're guaranteed good quality and you never feel pressured to buy something (Ahmeds silver shop next door is worth a look too). I'd also recommend booking yourself on a hot air balloon (Theres a booking desk just inside the hotel lobby). After all, how many times do you get to go on a hot air balloon at sunrise over the valley of the kings? Its definitely worth it. The chinese restaurant is really nice too. Oh, and if you get the chance, go on a day trip to Cairo/Giza. We went on one organised by Budget Travel. It was a bit pricey, but definitely worth it in the end.
Unique Quality: Great location, walking distance from Karnak Temple, and there is never a shortage of taxis outside the gate who are only too happy to bring you wherever you want to go :o) There is a great view across the nile as well. The views from the balconies in some rooms aren't great if you're unlucky enough to get one on the wrong side of the hotel.

Hilton Luxor
I was here for a week in Nov 1997. The hotel was good and the staff were friendly. The pool are is nicely set out and the terrace overlooking it is great for watching the sunsets over the Nile. In the evening they serve great Crepes here. The rooms were recently done up at the time I was there and they were clean, good size and comfortable. There was only a small gym in the hotel but that may have changed since 97. There were 2 good restaurants and other facilities such as a pool table etc. It was a little bit out from the main centre of Luxor but it is only a short taxi ride.
As I was ther ein 1997 things may have changed and the hotel may bhave developed since that time so it is probably worht checking more recent reviews. I would recommend it based on my time there and if I was going to Luxor again would definitely look it up as part of planning my trip.
Unique Quality: The terrace area at sunset was great especially those crepes ..yum ! ANother interesting feature was that at dusk the sparrows used to roost in large numers in the trees just below the terrace and hawks used to circle overhead and make an occasional dive to try and nab a stray sparrow ! They weren't even safe at night...one night we were having a beer on the terrace and a white Barn Owl swooped from no where an nabbed a sparrow. Although you have to feel sorry for the sparrows its all part of survivial and it was like being the middle of your own Richard Attenborough documentary !

Well, Nice !
We stayed at Hilton Luxor ! Nice hotel but I wouldn't even dream of staying here if I travel on my own. Anyway, the hotel is very near to Karnak Temple, we walked there or you guys could take the horse carriage. I couldn't smoke in the room so Pat chased me out on the balcony ! So I puffed away seeing the pool where people doing some distorted exercises... One night, there's a blackout ! Power failure... It was funny staying in a 5 star hotel experiencing something like that but we were just going to sleep anyway for Theban Necropolis the following day !Please click on the links...

Luxor Hilton - ****
Hotel was a little drab, but the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was quite acceptable and the pool was the best in Luxor. The location of the hotel is in the village of Karnak and so is a short bus ride from the Luxor Museum. The hotel provides a courtesy bus. Nlie view rooms can have a limited view...
Unique Quality: Good restaurant across the road, plus good supermarkets close by.

Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa Photo: View from the Nile
We were lucky enough to stay at the Luxor Hilton in July. The setting, directly on the Nile with views to the West Bank, is just perfect. Sunsets by the pool were unbelievable (see the pics) and the outdoor lounges and lanterns make for a very blissful time. Our room was clean, modern and the bathroom quite opulent, stocked with Crabtree & Evelyn products. Beds were very comfy and there is a turn down service each night. All of the staff were very warm and welcoming but not too intrusive. The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of choices and the food was fresh. If you are looking for somewhere to unwind or recuperate at the end of a busy day of touring, the Hilton is just perfect. Perhaps some people would prefer to stay in the middle of the action in Luxor however we were pleased to stay a short distance away in the completely relaxing Nile-side location in the quieter village of Karnak. The Hilton has a free shuttle into Luxor and the driver would pick us up from the same location at an agreed time. We stayed at the Old Winter Palace in Luxor a few years ago and this hotel was lovely however my preference is definitely for the Hilton. If you stay at the Hilton, be sure to wander out into Karnak village - I can highly recommend Gerda's Garden (just outside the entrance and across the road) for a meal and Yousef Bazar (turn right when exiting the Hilton and walk 100m or so to find him) for jewellery and other souvenirs - these places were both very good value and the owners lovely friendly people.

Luxor Hilton [pic]. Not a typical Hilton...only a few floors and set in a lovely Nile garden. Stayed there in 1995. Excellent large pool, with another pool by the river. Lovely garden with palms etc. View across the Nile.

Don't know specifically about above. There are about 350 boats that travel from Luxor to Aswan. Some advice though. Check and see if they have an on board water purification system. Might also want to check if they have individual berths. Most seem to park horizontally, tied to each other. This means you look out your window into someone elses when you park at night. You also have to cross from boat to boat to get off. Best location for hotel in Luxor is Jolle Movenpick. They are a little ways out of town, but have free shuttles to town. As much as I loved the sites, the taxi drivers, caleesh drivers, shop owners and touts just about ruined our holiday. They were relentless and just did'nt leave you a minutes peace to enjoy their wonderful country.
Q:Need info on Hot Air Balloon Riding "Hi,
Does anyone know the best (and most reputable) company that provides hot air balloon rides in Luxor at a reasonable price?..."
A: "$100 sounds reasonable to me, compared to other prices I've seen. I think I spent at least that much on a balloon ride in Tunesia several years ago. Personally, I'd be..."
