best small hotel in Luxor

Great small hotel off the beaten track close to Karnak Temple and in Karnak village. Good location close to both train station and airport. Comfortable, clean good size rooms with good nice attached renovated bathrooms. They even have a bathtub. The hotel has a good sized swimming pool out back set in a beautiful spacious garden. The dining room is bright and clean and they offer tasty inexpensive Egyptian food. I had most of my dinners there and was very satisfied I have been to Luxor a few times in the past and this is the best small budget hotel I found there. I don't think many have discovered yet but it is ideal as it is only a short bus ride from the center, yet very quiet and tranquil. If you are looking for good location, comfortable lodging with great service, etc for a very economical price, I would recommend this place.

Unique Quality: I think one of the outstanding characteristics about this place is the fact that it is set in Karnak Village close to the Karnak Temple. There are very few smaller budget style hotels in this part of town. In fact I think it is the only one. It is right across the street from the Hilton resort and the Sofitel Karnak is a short walk down the road. It is a local family owned establishment and this is an ideal place to get a style of true Egyptian hospitality. I found that, surprisingly, the Karnak village area does not have a great deal of contact with tourists (if you walk down the road a bit away from the front area of the Hilton). You will experience, as I did, the real true Egyptian heart of friendliness and hospitality. I was invited to chat and drink tea and enjoyed my interaction with local farmers and village folks along the road. It is beautifully set with beautiful lush green farmland on either side of the road right next to the Nile. It is set outside the center just enough to have quiet but close enough (just a short bus ride away) to get into the town center.
