Nubian Oasis Hotel
This place was surprising in that not only was it the best place that I stayed in Egypt, but it was also the cheapest. It cost me 20LE a night for an en-suite room with fan. Breakfast was included as was free internet. On the top floor was a roof-top terrace which was a great place to relax in the evening with a beer. The owner was up there most nights relaxing and telling stories as well. Highly recommended

Nubian Oasis - fantastic cheap accomodation!
This place was brilliant. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. There was a roof garden which made the place. The place was close to the train station (5-10 mins walk), Luxor temple and the Nile river. Rooms were simple, but clean and with air con or a fan. Breakfast was lovely and you could buy cold drinks on the roof or downstairs.
They offered a tour to the West bank, which was a good tour and easy way to do it. They also arranged our bus to Hurghada and next hotel. Very impressed!
And did I mention this place was CHEAP?!

Most people go to my first recommended option but this one is as equally good. This new hotel is in Luxor to stay because it offers some great services. The rooms have private bathrooms and most of them have double beds, sat tv and AC. The breakfast is quality and you can use the kitchen for free. Tea and Stella are offered for reallly cheap prices and they can be enjoyed on the roof terrace and all these wonderful bonuses only five minutes from the train station. Once backpackers catch on, this place will be bumping.
Unique Quality: Cheap beverages, free use of kitchen and bike hire.
