Necropolis of Thebes Hotels

Various: Where to stay when visiting

Although there are a few hotels on the west bank of Luxor (i.e., the Necropolis of Thebes), most visitors tend to stay on the east bank, in the city of Luxor itself where there are innumerable choices. With some exceptions, the few hotels in western Thebes tend to be concentrated around New Gurna, the small town across the river, where the ferries shuttling back and forth are located.

Unique Quality: When I visited Luxor, I did stay on the west bank, but not in New Gurna. My hotel was called Al Moudira, and it is one of the few luxury boutique hotels in the whole of Egypt. Further details on the hotel can be found on my Luxor page, but it is highly recommendable for anyone who wants to focus on exploring the Necropolis of the Thebes.
