More about Albatros Resort Hotel Hurghada
Primasol Beach Albatros Resort, Hurghada
by robjam
Just returned from a weeks trip to the Primasol Beach Albatros Hotel. Mainly German tourists, but we had a brillient time, the hotel is very clean, the bed linen changed daily, the food is wonderful, the staff cant do enough for you. Taxis are very cheap. Weather hot. Beach towels provided every day. Pool was cold, but the sea was warm. Excellent for children and very safe. Nothing too much bother for the staff. Would go back there again, especially for a winter break. only gripe is that when you arrive at the airport the taxis will try and get too much money for transfer to hotel. It should be no more than 40 LE to the Albatros Beach. If you want to spend in the duty free on the way back it is mainly US Dollars or Euro. Very efficient airport.

Primasol Albatros Resort - 14 July
by Bluenosey
Just booked to go Primasol Albatros Resort on 14th July.
Apparently a mostly German hotel but don't mind this.
Has anyone been recently or going to be there at the time? What entertainment is there is in the area?
Is it about 30 Egyptian Pounds from the airport(info I saw was quite old)?
Interested in any activities available safari, pyramids etc., anyone know of anything?
Diving: do you need to be trained already or do they teach you? would love to do it.
How much does it cost roughly for a meal for 2?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi There
In Hurghada, you will find Germans and Russians in ever hotel, it is just the way it is as it is so popular with their people!
As for entertainment, you have many restaurants, bars and clubs, the most notable being Ministry Of Sound and Papas, Calypso has a very bad reputation and is generally seen as a pick up spot for guys.
Eating out is so, so cheap, especially for us Brits, for a meal out with beer etc you wont pay much more than 5-7 pounds per person, i know one small restaurant called the red sea prince, it is in downtown by the mermaid, their stella beer per bottle is 50p!
Transfer from the airport shouldnt be more than 30 pounds though you will have to haggle this, as you do with most things.
I know a tour company called Egypt Excursions, i recommend them as i have been with them several times, their address is www.egyptexcursions.com or you can email them directly julie@egyptexcursions.com, they do tours to Cairo, Luxor, safari etc and at a much cheaper cost than your hotel company! Also they are an English company so its alot easier for me to trust them and they ahve repayed my trust time and time again.
You can take diving courses in Hurghada, you can start from the basic open water course if you dont have a license or if you have one can taker an advanced course, its very flexible and easy to do with what experience you may or may not have.
I hope this helped, good luck, email me if you would like to ask anything else!

Its true that primasol is a German resort but u will find Germans everywhere in Hurghada but there r many British tourists in this resort. This resort is 15 min drive from city centre so if u r thinking to eat out in town then change ur mind cos u cant travel everytime for food, although taxi is very cheap & u can get a return taxi to town for only 50 Egyptian pounds. In ur resort there is a diving school & they will offer u everything about diving. In town near beach opposite to seagull resort & hotel on shereton road, there is a tour company named Egypt tours. They r the cheapest tour operators in Hurghada but try to check prices everywhere b4 u book ur trips. Good luck Adnan
