Sunrise el Palacio
"All inclusive at the Sunrise el Palacio"
1800 guests, about 180 english so quite a varied culture mixture. Very good rep from Thomas cook. Food was varied, the main restaurant did get quite busy at times, but there were allways places avaliable, especially down the far end.Just get a glass of drink and put it on your table, this shows the table is occupied before wandering off to choose your meals.Snacks outside, especially the omellettes were very good, and a small tip to the waiter(we gave 50 Le) guarunteed drinks without queing delivered to the table. They remembered what we drank and as soon as we sat down it was on our table. The staff were allways smiling and so helpfull. If you do get peckish after 10pm thogh, do grab something and put it in your fridge because nothing is avalaible.
"Mamya Island"
Booked with the hotel rep, Lane, who is off to Brasil next year.Coach pick up to the port, about 8,30am. boat trip of about 25 mins, then transferred by smaller boat ashore. Glorious soft sandy beach, lots of palm shelters, everyone is given a space. Snorkels, masks and flippers freely avaliable.Just float in the crystal clear water over the coral, the colours and the fish will amaze you. Lunch about midday, extremely varied food avaliable, but drinks are payed for so make sure you have some money with you. Opportunity to go off to do deeper water swimming on the boats, but decided to just lounge on shore and top up tan.Left the island about 4, they just put you in any boat but as they all belong to the same company dont worry, they all go back to the port. Would reccomend this to anyone
"Sinbad submarine"
This wasnt a scheduled trip but something we had seen on the web, but was easily arranged by the rep. Again, coach trip to the port, this time a yellow boat, about 20mins to a floating island, then onto the sub, wow, seats both sides, but the sub is only half filled, with two seats to 1 porthole and they sat us all on one side,(couldnt work out why to start with) Went down about 50metres, and slowly cruised along the edge of the reef. Suddenly in the window a scuba diver appeared, not what you expect, made me jump thats for sure. He was feeding the fish so they came to the portholes, totally gobsmacked. The "old" shipwreck , the coral, the fish., once again, wish we had booked twice. Was a bit rushed getting back to the coach, in hindsite would have booked a taxi back to the hotel.

Decent, good class place - Sunrise El Palacio
