Iberotel Makadi Beach Hurghada

Quite nice hotel, staff friendly but waiting all the time for extra money, food average (my hubs was sick after ), room clean and nice.
Boring hotel but beautiful.
be very careful when you are planning to buy extra trip from this hotel eg ride in desert - quality of service is poor, we were very disappointed .
I would not recommend massage service!

Unique Quality: Little bit far away from Hurgada, so for fans of night life. But for people wants to rest, very nice place, calm and lovely. Perfect for Family and people like to lie on sun chairs :D

We stayed for 5 days in this hotel in jul 2006. The place is so nice with a great view ,the sevices were great and it is simply a family hotel where you and your children will have fun in each moment you spend in. And here goes :
1-The rooms:very clean and nicely furnished .
2-a word about maintainance as our room had the AC not working so we called maintainance and they came in 5 min. and solved the problem ...very very good staff.
3-the lobby is a beating heart in the evenings where you will find a splendid cocktail bar ..a majestic ice cream parlour and live music with a dance floor...all in the lobby.
4-the restaurent has a very good buffet..not excellent but very good and the service is superb.
5-the pool is unique in design and cleaness and activities..water polo,aerobics,dancing lessons and the list goes on.
6-The beach is so nice too but as it is in makadi bay the waves of the red sea tend to be not too strong. Water sports available with snorkelling but unlike those facilities in Sharm.

The only disadvantage would be it is 20 km fom hurghada city.

I highly recommend it for the first timer in hurghada and those who want to take their kids with them

Unique Quality: The POOL its design and activities are unique

I stayed there last year ( Oct 2006 ) and the experience was generally very good. However while choosing the type of accommodation please pay attention to what kind of room you are offered, there are three types:
- Duna bungalows - far from the beach & the main building but more cosy, quieter and cheaper
- Lagoon - slightly closer to the beach still in separate smaller bungalows
- Main building - that's where I stayed bigger rooms, restaurants in the building downstairs, great sea view if you're lucky BUT very noisy as there is no carpet on the corridor and when people move in/out at strange hours they keep rolling their luggage and walking all the time which prevents from sleeping- it was really annoying...

FOOD: we had all inclusive - good selection of food, absolutely no stomach problems many people experience elsewhere in Egypt
BEACH: great coral reef just next to the beach

GENERALLY:

- great experience though the hotel is huge and you sometimes have to queue in the restaurant , difficult to find a place on the beach

Unique Quality: FIRST of ALL: the great beach - quite crowded but with outstanding coral reef very close to the shore - you can admire it using th snorkeling equipment rented in the Diving centre on the beach

- good food
- great sea views

I recommend it to all who don't mind many people around - much is happening there and it's not a cosy, romantic hotel

Directions: from Hurghada they have a shuttle bus or you need a taxi - no public transport

I had been in the meridien makadi bay only for 3 days, after that i was travelling on the nil.But I've never forget that three days in meridien ...it was fantastic. Wanderfull weather , delicious food and great fun. ... staff were really nice. Theyalways had a smile on their faces. That was cool. One thing was the best ,,,, strange but unforgetable experience.....on the beach ..if that men is reading it :) ...i wan tto tell you ....I remeber that ...and remember you ....

This was by far one of the best holidays I have ever had. The weather was fabulous for the duration of the fortnight and I didn't find the heat uncomfortable (unlike English heat, when we get any!). The faciities were great and the food was surprisingly impressive. All the staff were very friendly and hospitable (it pays to be a girl!!) and everyone there made every effort to give us a good holiday. The entertainment was good but a little unvaried and the evening entertainment was "different" but always a guaranteed laugh. The Animation Team were fantastic, always fun and happy (Ahmed may be an exception). Being 14 year old there were plenty of people my age to meet, and I think if I do go back (very likely) it will never quite live up to that specific holiday. From start to finish and everything in between, I had an amazing time and would love to still be there now :(

Unique Quality: My best tip? GO NOW, and make the most of every minute because you won't realise how great it is until you get back to crappy England and back to reality. You relax 100% and are constantly offered refreshments and anything that would make you more comfortable.

We travelled and stayed in The Le Meidien, Makadi Bay in June/ July 2006, staying for 1 week which was more than sufficient. The hotel is NOT a 5 star hotel and is reminiscent a 1950’s Butlins holiday camp, although at least Butlins did what they did well.

Staff at the hotel are generally friendly, however this is spoilt by a few very unprofessional staff asking or just helping themselves to cigarettes from guests, making derogatory remarks about paying guests, being inefficient and generally giving impression that everything was too much trouble. We were not able to access a room safe as they were unable to supply one and could only give one key for our accommodation.

I have stayed in various hotels ranging from 3 star to 5 star in Egypt and this hotel does not come close to a 5 star hotel. The rooms are basic and often a great distance from the main hotel, reception staff are extremely unfriendly, the food is very basic and the restaurant is more like a college canteen where you just want to eat and get out.

The location of the hotel is 25km’s south of Hurghada with a few other hotels also within the bay. Management have fully exploited the fact that the hotel has little competition in the immediate vicinity which is reflected in the more than 5 star prices charged within the shops in the hotel complex eg, £4.50 bottle of coke.

If you want to enjoy a good holiday in the Hurghada area, then please do not book this hotel, there are plenty of 5 star hotels in Hurghada or El Gouna, where you will enjoy your holiday and which offer a true 5 star experience.

Unique Quality: There is not one thing i can think of that i disliked about this hotel. It was absolutely GREAT! By far the best hotel i have ever stayed in. Hurghada is a beautiful place. Quiet, unspoilt, you will not need to come out of the hotel! The hotel includes an indoor swimming pool and beauty parlor, which was bliss!! The outdoor pool was a little on the chilly side but it was beautiful, the biggest pool ive seen in my whole life of travelling! This is the best holiday i haver ever been on in my life. A 5 star for everything. The service was great. It has a disco for all you party lovers! But if you're not into that you cant hear it going on! It is peaceful! The food, where do i start?? Great for all ages! there was lots of restaurants, You ccan have typical egyptian food, Italien or whatever, And if you have a fussy child, cool! They can just help themselves to chicken and chips! The beach is marvellous, the sea? It took my breath away, you coukld walk out for about 5 minutes, it is crystal clear! And the weather? Ive never been to anywhere hotter.You are guaranteed the best holiday EVER i can't describve how good it was ive tried my best but words cannot explain it.And there is no doubt about it i will be off there again as soon as i can! and again and again!!
