Makadi bay

Hi everyone
Me and my girlfriend are thinking of going to the makadi oasis in makadi bay. I am just wondering, what is the hotel like. Is there much to do in the Makadi bay area. How easy is it to get to hughada - is there regular bus services? I was also wondering, I know there are plenty of excursions operating from hurghada but are there many that operate from makadi bay
Cheers for your help everyone

hi,
Take Euros or USA$,many resorts will charge u by either ones.
when ur there u can exchange to egyptian pounds for puchsing any goods from the local markets.

Euro's, USD or GBP are accepted all over Egypt and I would recommend to take either one of these currencies. DON'T change money into Egyptian pounds beforehand! Change it when arriving in Egypt. Any Airport will have bankdesks that will change your money at a good rate and gives you the opportunity to buy a visa (depending on your country of origin).
Have a credit and/or debitcard at hand. Use the all over ATM's for additional money.

Here I placed a lot of information about the use of money in Egypt.
Have a great trip!!

Travel Tips for Hurghada
Don’t get bored of a million hand shake
by Saladinos
It is very common that you will find Egyptians giving fives (your hand clapping on a friend's hand). They do this when you or them says something that sounds funny or looks funny.
So expect that through out your conversation with an Egyptian he will give you five and another five and another five.
So dont think he is crazy. and ladies, dont think he is trying to hit on you and hold your hand but rather he is showing appreciation to a funny thing you said.
Luxor
by Aurorae
From Hurghada it is quite near to go to Luxor and explore the fascinating world of the ancient Egypt - Karnak, valley of kings, queens, the Hatshepsut temple, colossi, etc.
The buses go in organized tours, in convoys that can number even 200 buses (!) in the police escort.
minibus
by vicky_cannae
If you're staying outside of Hurghada it's pretty easy to take a small minibus in front of your hotel, you don't need an expensive taxi.
Always discuss the price for your trip, they will ask you the double or even more.
The egyptians pay about 1 or 2 pounds to get around......the driver will ask you 20 pounds!!
Always bargain!!!
Snorkling !!
by carina.xxx
We hired a boat for one day and went snorkling.
A local man contacted us and after a very long discussion about prices, we agreed that we could have the boat with snorkling material and with a guide to show us the most beautiful spots under water and a cook to make us a meal on board. We payed 200 euro for everything and we had the boat for ourselves all day long.
It was an unforgettable day !
Desert Safari
by Kushelkitten
Exploring the desert on a safari is a fun way to spend the afternoon. These can either be taken in a jeep or quads. Most companies offer this in conjunction with a lunch or dinner with a bedouin tribe.
Desert Safaris can be booked through numerous agencies in Hurghada.
