Travelling to Hurghada
by ArineM
Hello,
I might be travelling to Hurghada for 4 days/3 nights around 8th of August this year.
Since I'll be travelling from Cairo, which means of transport should be better to reach Hurghada?
Also, i'll be travelling alone, so I would like to know if there are some turist packages/groups that i could join even for hotel staying.
Thank you!

Travel Tips for Hurghada
Glass Bottom Boats
by Kushelkitten
Hurghada feels cooler than most places in Egypt due to the breeze coming in almost constantly from the Red Sea. If you come in the winter months the breeze which is a welcome relief in the summer may make it too cold to swim. If this is the case you neednt miss out on the beauty of the Red Sea take a glass bottom boat ride.
The operators are located at various hotels in Hurghada. They will gladly take you out for an hour or more. Even if the weather is warm enough to swim take a ride. Most of the boats will take snorkelers out to nice reef areas.
Wear sunscreen!
by TimDK
It's very windy out there and the sun in treacherous. If there is one thing you should do it's wear sunscreen from early in the morning until the sun goes down in the evening.
A good hat and sunglasses should also be on your packing list. Imodium and Motilium
Baraxal Underwater cameras are nice if you plan to go diving/snorkling. Sea-urchins can be a bit tricky in the red sea. Bring some slippers or sea sandals for a walk on the shores..
Jeep Safari
by evona
We climb up a hill that to see the sunset on the Sahara. There are the Montain near of the beduin`s village. Up ist a egiptian man, wich make a video film of this jeep safari. You can buy it for 100 egiptian funts. This is really great keepsake.
Airport in Hurghada
by fonden
The city is served by the Hurghada International Airport with direct connections with several cities in Europe.
There are also daily flights to and from Cairo. Some times a week there are flights to Sharm el-Sheikh and once a week to Aswan by Luxor.
The ariport is very interesting in itself, when I was there he airport was in caos. Not really know where to go and not many people around that could help you. But I've heard that the airport has improved alot the last year or two. But I must say it was a fun and interresting experience.
Visit a bedouin village
by tomerik
We visited a bedouin village and had the option to either go by quad bikes or in the back of a 4x4 jeep. Due to the very hot weather (the temperature was between 45C and 50C we did'nt feel like spending two-three hours in the sun riding a quad so we decided to go by jeep.
The excursion was very well arranged. We stopped several times on our way to the village to take pictures and to have some well informative cultural lections from our driver.
Once at the small village, which basically was constructed for the tourists, we had the opportunity to ride on a Camel, visit the different houses and tents around as well as small traditional shops. The locals also had prepared for us a meal and a show.
All in all an okay excursion lasting around 6 hours. Don' remeber the exact price but it was approx. 40 Euros pr. person.
