Travel Tips for Hurghada

Scuba diving or snorkeling !

by myriam_c

The Red Sea is one of the best dive spots close to Europe for scuba diving and snorkeling. The water is warm, very clear, there is plenty of fish and the corals are still intact. On our first vacation in El Gouna we went diving with The Dive Tribe, a 5* PADI instructor development centre, that was part of our resort (Mövenpick El Gouna Resort). The staff were very professional, the equipment was of first quality and the monitors are of various nationalities.
You can take classes when you're not qualified or just take some dives when you have your degree.
Don't forget to take your logbook and a recent health certificate.

NOTE: all the dives from El Gouna are boat dives, sometimes it takes 1 hour or more to get to the divesite. But then, the most beautiful spots are beneath you: Poseidon Garden, Dolphin Reef, Manta Point and many, many more.

Hard Rock cafe

by NotSahara

Attitude, music and coctails!

The cafe, while reflecting the charm and flavor of the local architecture, is still Hard Rock through and through offering an extensive collection of incredible rock memorabilia, a fabulous mouth-watering menu and thirst quenching cocktails to suit your every desire. With everything from a great outdoor area and cool pool bar facility to live music, and DJ's after midnight, the Hard Rock Cafe Hurghada is the hottest spot in town. A must see for locals and visitors alike. Stop by and visit for your rock n' roll fix. Proper

La Trattoria

by myriam_c about La Trattoria

This à la carte restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
Smoking and no smoking section.
You can either eat inside or outside on the terrace. The time we were there (March) there were no umbrella's and it could get very hot on the terrace at lunch time! Lunch: various (good) pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, lunch menu with fish / meat / poultry and some lovely desserts!!

Dinner: traditional Italian style ... antipasti from the saladbar (funghi ripieni, prosciutto crudo, melanzano, zucchini, peperoni, pomodori, carcifione, ...), primo piatto (zuppa, brodo, gnocchi, risotto, pasta, ...), secundo piatto (meat/poultry/fish) and dolci ...

Always a large selection of bread, like foccacia with olives, cheese, sundried tomatoes or bacon (yummie!), ciabatta, pane aioli, ...

Or get lazy by the pool

by vesna04

I prefered to stay by the pool ( I have the beach at home ). t was beautiful, never crowded as the pool was huge, all in all, about 5000 square metars large. Everything was there for the perfect relaxsation: the bars (one in the pool), the restaurants, enough towels, jacuzzi...
