Hurghada in November...

by glasgowblue

Hello everyone : )

Im looking to go to Egypt in mid November but have been to Sharm twice already. I visited in September before and was wondering how Hurghada would compare and what it would be like in November. Would the weather be good? Would there be many people there? Would there be things to do? It will be me and my mate heading over and probably go all inclusive but would no doubt venture out if the nightlife is okay. Also, how does the snorkeling compare??
All answers would be much appreciated

Due to extreme climatic changes the World is experiencing at the moment, trying to predict the weather can be difficult because of local, on the day variations.
Most places now are seeing weather conditions well outside the norm.
The information below should be used as a guide only.

Here is the average weather for Hurghada for this time of year.
Enjoy your holiday.

November.
High 80f / 27c
Low 60f / 16c
Rain 0.00in / 0.0mm
Rain days 0
Hours of sun 9
Daylight hours 11
UV level 6 = High
Humidity = Low
Sea temp 77f / 28c

I have been in Hurgada at the end of November and though it was ok to walk around in bathing suits there was quite a chilly and strong wind.
The weather in terms of sun shining was fine, but to stay on the beach you needed to find a windbreaking system.

Since we am quite some time away from retirement, the locals wondered why we would come to Hurgada that time of the year, when all the retirees where holidaying there ;-)

I think the weather is the same, it's only 80 miles difference as the crow flies.

I prefer Hurghada to Sharm but that is only my choice. I lived in Hurghada and had many holidays there before trying Sharm so i'm probably a bit biased. It all depends what you want from your holiday, there is less to do in Hurghada but it's a lot cheaper out and about and far less crowded. There is a small selection of clubs, including ministry of sound.

Beaches are nicer in Hurghada as you don't get the stones or cliff edges, mostly all sand. Reefs are better in sharm for diving but snorkelling is pretty much the same.

Hope that helps. Enjoy which ever you choose.

Travel Tips for Hurghada

AS I HAD ONLY SMALL TIME I HAD...

by hanspeter_W.

AS I HAD ONLY SMALL TIME I HAD NO TIME TO VISIT ANY OF THE FAMOUS HISTORICAL SITES WHICH I WILL SEE ANOTHER TIME AND SHOULD BE A MUST FOR VISIT IN EGYPT..
BUT A JEEP SAFARI WITH CAMEL-RIDE TO THE DESERT IS ABSOLUT RECOMMENDABLE ALSO HURGHADA IS VERY TOURISTIC, THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE ARE STILL VERY CONSERVATIVE-ISLAMIC..LIVE IN A MENS WORLD..MEN DO ALL WORK FOR TOURISTS, WOMEN ARE KEPT IN BACKSIDE..BUT EGYPTIAN MEN ARE ALWAYS VERY INTERESTED IN FOREIGN LADIES..

Fighting the Heat - Part 1

by aliante1981

Travels to places like Egypt involves a lot of fighting the heat, especially if you, like me (I am still surprised as to why I did that), go there right in the middle of the summer. Hereýs a list of useful items to take:

- Hats and other covering: Large brimmed hats that provide head covering and some shade. For women, they are also a proof of modesty, welcomed when visiting old churches and mosques. Scarves and the like covering shoulders and arms can keep the sun off during treks. A cloth hat or scarf can be soaked to help keep the head cool.

- "Squeeze Breeze": this is a water bottle with a sprayer and a battery-operated fan attached. The beach toy to take with you!

- Sun block: While sun blocks may be purchased in Egypt, people tend to prefer sticking with their own favourite brand (the skin, too, ýgets usedý to it), and thereýs not guarantee youýll find it on the spot. So take your own, if you have preferences!

Authentic & fake Papyrus

by Innovator

If you booked with a touroperator they guide you to the museum of Papyrus.
There you can buy authentic Papyrus. They also show you how they made it.
It's with a special authentic stamp at the back of it. We bought 2 nice Papyrus (see pictures below):
The first one is in special brown Papyrus with nice colours, and something different
The second one shows the reincarnation belief of the Egyptians

For a small one you pay around €20, a bigger one around €35.
The Papyrus Museums walls are decorated with lots of examples with number on it.

You can fill in the number on a piece of paper that you receive and downstairs you can pay for it. It's packed in a special cylinder for protection.

Super Jet Bus

by Saladinos

Going from Cairo to hurghada and opposite by bus is not a bad idea and definatly cheaper than any other means of transportation.
There is no rail road to and from Hurghada so logically there wont be a train.
The bus ranges from 35 to 60 egyptian pounds (10 dollars max) for a 1 way trip.
The Super Jet is one of the well known companies along with Al Gouna company.
Both companies operates lots of buses and most of them are equipped with AC, VCR, toilet and food and drinks (not for free).
The trip takes 5-6 hours with a stop in the middle for a rest in many cases.
Have a safe trip.

One thousand and one night

by JuliaMac

The special building where is shown with show "One thousand and one night". there you can see show about a history of Egypt. And certainly beautiful girls will dance belly dance. I was not in show but many people spoke that all this can be seen in hotel. If your hotel has disco and every night shows bellydance.
