NICE HOTEL BY THE BEACH, ONLY GUEST OF THE HOTEL IS ALOUD ON THE BEACH. FOOD AND DRINKS ARE VERY CHEAP. THE SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING, EVERYONE WAS SO HELPFUL. A GOOD LOCATION IN HURGHADA CLOSE TO "NEW HURGHADA" (WALKING DISTANCE".

When visiting Egypt, most tourists stay in Hurghada at the Red Sea. Hurghada is in fact nothing more than a chain of hotels. When you leave the hotel, you're in the desert.
Accommodation : 549 rooms (Standard 93 - Superior 424 - Suites 32). Ask at least for the superior rooms.
Restaurants : Different restaurants, most of them offers food in buffet.
Recreational Facilities :
- 2 Swimming Pools
- 700m Private Sandy Beach
- Outdoor Tennis, Table Tennis, Kindergarten
- Diving & Windsurfing Center

This is a 4 Star Hotel and we were more than pleased with it. The grounds are absolutely beautiful; acres of Palm Trees; flowers, etc. The beach is gorgeous and clean. Rows and rows of loungers; also water slides for kids; 3 pools; large playground with 2 trampolines; all walkways were made of marble. Towels are provided when you go to the beach or pool. There are also lifeguards on the beach. The restaurants are all buffet style with a different theme each night. We had the half pension which was quite adequate. The restaurants are all very nice. There is only one where you can eat outside; this was nice to do early in the mornings.
There are also small shops within the resort where you can shop to buy souvenirs; snacks, etc. Safety deposit boxes are also available thru the main desk (these are free of charge).
All resorts are private and have security at the front doors. Locals were not a problem within the resort area.

On the 27th of April my family(2 children (5 and 7 ), my wife and I)are going to Hurghada. This is the second time we are going to Egypt.
Last time we stayed at the Mariott Beach resort, and we wanted to do the same this time to.
But Mariott Booking-office messed up the booking, and we are now looking for another hotel. (The agent booked another room than he told me and they would not admit the error)
So we are now looking for another **** or more hotel, with all inclusive. It has to be nice to the children, close to the beach and the price must be reasonable.
We are going to stay for one week.
Any suggestions?

hi my friend , you can see magawiiesh hotel or conrad resort ( it's near alladin ) or you can choose ARABIA in the other side of hurgada , & there'e so wonderful places in GHONA , & it's only 5 km from hurgada & busses will move in every minutes ,i wish fo you a so nice visit to hurgada tht i ove it from all my heart

I would recommend the Grand Hotel, Hurghada. It is a very nice 4 star hotel, with all inclusive being an option. It has its own private beach and a choice of 2 swimming pools. The rooms are very nice and all come with either a balcony or terrace.
Or there is the Grand Resort which is just across the road from the Grand Hotel. It looks like something out of a movie from the front. I believe this is a 5* resort. With a selection of swimming pools. You are able to use the private beach from the Grand Hotel. It also has all inclusive as an option and there is always evening entertainment.

I suggest you search in Al Gouna resort there is movenpik and sheraton. Also for all inclusive deals i would suggest you look in the Makady bay areea it has lots of hotels.

Sofitel Hurghada, could you give any advices?

Hello VT people,
Two women of about 55-60 (my mother with her freind) will go to this hotel next soon. I am really worry about both of them as they are too kind and too naive persons. Moreover, they do not speak english (althougth I am sure there will be a lot of Russians there ;))) so it would be a bit difficult for them to communicate in case of any unexpected situation.
I am really really worry.
Maybe it was not very good idea to send them to vacation in Egypt, but they wnted to have a rest with the sea and sun. Of course would be great to accompany them to take care of them during the vacation, but my working schedule does not allow me to join them.
So please, could you tell me your opinion of this hotel (Sofitel Hurgada)? What is important to take into consideration? Which buildings are new, which old? WHat is about entrance to the sea... dangerous animals and fishes?
They are going ALL inclusive - what does that mean at the Sofitel??

There are alot of Russians in this hotel - this is actually one of the most favorit hotels in Hurghada among Russians.

You do not need to worry at all! You´ve made a very good choice and I wish your mother with her friend a really nice vacation i Egypt. I wish I could presuade my mother to go to Egypt :-(( BTW, I myselve go to Hurghada (Grand Hotel) 7th of May for 2 weeks. Cannot wait! I love Hurghada and this will be my 6th time there.

Thank you, Naktergalen, really useful links. BTW, my mother and her friend are in Hurgada now, and I spoke by phone with her several times. They are both very happy and like everything in Egypt. Looks like thay have a very nice vacation, and of course, I am also happy for them.
