Has someone stayed there? I try to choose between several hotel and this one of those that is available. The big plus of this hotel is that it is quite cheap and I do not need to book breakfast/HB/All. (I hate eating at the same place dutring two weeks!). What is important for me is that the room are quite and it is not so crowded at the beach. (I wake up early and then like to take a siesta between 13.00 and 15.00).
So, I wonder:
1)How noisy the rooms are? If I book a romm with terrace (not balcony) can I see the sea or do the garden block the view in most rooms?
2)I will travel last week in May and first week in June. Are there many isolated places on the beach where I can find a sunbed with umbrella and feel me undisturbed?
3)Is the gym in the hotel good and how much they charge for one hour?
4) Is it possible to bring your own drinks or fruit in the hotel or do they check all bags?

A good economic option

Shedwan Golden Beach and its neighbour Shedwan Garden share some pools in a nice garden and a private beach. They offer a very good value for money. Good rooms, attentive service, good food. They are quite close to the "old" centre of Hurghada. Like all the other big hotels along the beach they are perfectly isolated from "real Egypt". If you are not moving out from the hotel complexes just crossing the road which is behind the hotels you would just feel being anywhere in the world at a warm beach.

Unique Quality: As I heard from friends who have been in Hurghada before all this is equally valid for most of the larger hotels along the beach.

The guests in the hotel (capacity about 250 beds) were mostly Scandinavian, German, Austrian, Slovenian and to my surprise only very few Russians. A surprise because they seem to dominate almost everywhere else in Hurghada. The arrival at Hurhada airport was more reminding of the airport in Sochi. Only two Egyptian aircraft, one German, one Slovenian and all others Russian and Ukrainian.

What is quite specific for Hurghada is the fact that you see only men working, even doing jobs which almost everywhere else in the world are done mostly by women. The only women working here are belly dancers and the one or other animator (the animators are exclusively non-Egyptian, mostly male as well and originating from Italy, Armenia and Georgia). The hotel is said to be owned by an Italian company.

It is no surprise that everywhere outside the main building are innumerable very charming and very nice looking cats. No wonder, the ancestry of most of our cats is Egyptian and it was a highly appreciated animal in ancient Egypt.

Downtown Hurghada

The Shedwan is located in downtown Hurghada, you have easy access to the bazaars for shopping and seeing some of the local life plus a variety of restaurants and bars for your evening entertainment. This hotel is situated on its own private beach, with the rooms located in the large, well maintained gardens. Good for families and those of you looking to relaxing in peaceful surroundings, but not ideal for divers with children, as the kids club is not open until mid-morning
