Hotel in Hurghada
by aadil about Stella Makadi Hurghada
The Stella Makadi Beach Resort at Makadi Beach in Hurghada is a five star property with a huge area and beachfront. It also has water sports activities besides scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, etc. There is a shuttle bus service from the hotel to the water activities area for which there is an extra charge. The rooms are spacious and really nice with a private balcony. The large pool area and the lovely beach with a wooden jetty going a long way into the Red Sea!!! The breakfast spread is enormous and excellent. We really enjoyed our stay there and wish to return someday soon.

Makadi Serenity Heights
by louiseylou
My husband and I have booked two weeks in Makadi Serenity Heights (formally Carols resort).
We have been allocated a sports area room.
Has anyone stayed in these, is it a long walk, what are they like?
Is it worth upgrading or requesting a change of room with the operator or waiting until we get there.
Lots of questions i know.
Thanks in advance of any replies.

I have been and returned so can now answer my ow question.
Upgrade after arrival is £40 per person per night.
Room is further than 250m from hotel, more like 500m. Not walkable in heat have to get a bus. Rooms are on a building site, blood stained sheets, soap scump and excrement on walls. No running water, except a trickle, and no hot water.
The rest of the hotel is filthy dirty, tatty and in poor repair. The staff were rude. Pool bars closed, litter in the pool.
What ever are Thomas Cook selling this hotel for. Do not book it it is disgusting.
We tried three rooms before evetually changing hotels. We wen't to Stella Makadi up the road, much much much better. Brand new, clean, friendly staff and all in one complex.
