Hurghada Tourist Background
by Kuznetsov_Sergey
Since the 1980s has been continually enlarged by American, European and Arab investors to become the leading bathing resort on the Red Sea. Holiday villages and first class hotels provide excellent aquatic sport facilities for sail boarders, yachtsmen, scuba divers and snorklers.
Now, with it's crystal clear water, untouched reefs and a multitude of ship wrecks, it has become one of the best Egyptian tourist destinations.
Hurghada can satisfy the needs of every visitor, from scuba diving to windsurfing to desert safaris with more than 20 km of hotels along the beach.
One can choose one from 200 Hotels (from the finest 5 Star Hotels to simple Guest Houses).
Hurghada is world renowned as a center for some of the world's best Diving. Within a couple of hours from your hotel you can be amongst a group of islands that are the home to Dive Sites guaranteed to astound even the most experienced divers.
Diving and Snorkeling
by Kushelkitten
If you come to Hurghada you just can't lounge on the beach all day, well you can but you would be missing out on the wonder that is the Red Sea.
The Red Sea has some of the finest coral reefs in the world and they are teeming with life. If you arent interested in Scuba diving you can always snorkel. Its inexpenisve and easy to learn. Almost every store in the area will sell you a snorkel and mask it cost about 56LE which last year converted to about €8. Even though you cant go deep you can still see amazing fish.
Diving is outings and lessons are offered at almost every hotel and if you dont want to go through them you can always find a dive shop near by. Many places offer trial lessons so you can see if you really want to spend the money to learn. All will supply you with what you need for a fee. See above
Hurghada Nightlife Hotspots
by Overdose about Ministry of Sound Beach Club & Hed Kandi Beach Bar
Hurghada Nightlife is fortunate enough to be home to two of world's coolest brands bubbling within the city, both Ministry of Sound and the super-stylish Hed Kandi have venues here....
Starting off with the world's only Hed Kandi Beach Bar which opened in March 2007, usually a pre-club/lounge bar, it's resident DJs spin at a selection of themed nights (all tied into an album's genre). On average, twice a month you can find a special event with anything up to and above 1000 revellers dancing the night away, these are the Full Moon Party and Hed Kandi LIVE (which I've attended recently)... with a LIVE Saxophone player complimenting the DJ team, a delicious crowd rocks the Red Sea coast in true party-style.
Ministry of Sound's Beach Club is also the only beach-side MoS outlet the world can offer, with its shorelines being lapped at by the warm waters of the Red Sea. I attended the start of their monthly hip-hop/R&B special events Smoove with DJ Junior J! Absolutely incredible place, dancing on the sand under the palm trees and stars with an array of beauties will be a memory I'll never forget!!
Roll on next year's vacation... Smart casual, trainers are cool, beach-ware cool but no bikinis and men must wear something on their chest...
Choice enough
by dedeckerm. about Peanuts Bar
There are plenty hotels and restaurants in Hurghada as it is a major tourist place. Hurghada has an excellent selection of Egyptian, Middle Eastern and international restaurants.
Although the native fare is very simple and mainly consists of bread, beans and vegetables, restaurants offer a much wider range of dishes.
Egyptian cuisine is a mixture of Turkish and Arabic influences.
Specialities include soups and 'mezze' appetisers such as stuffed vine leaves, stewed fava beans and sesame seed paste dips. Main course favourites are grilled chicken, lamb shish kebab and stuffed pigeon.
The desserts are also delicious with delicacies such as baklava, a mixture of filo pastry, honey and nuts.
SAFARI
by Beograd
When I say SAFARI, the first thing that comes to my mind is Nigeria, giraffes, elephants and killing all those inocent animals. Well, safari in Egypt is totaly different.
It is something that you shouldn't miss. Imagine going to a desert.... Nothing but, well NOTHING.... That's why it's called a desert ( this was very clever statement :-)
My group was an experimental for our guide, and he took only 10 of us. He was supposed to pick us at 10 am and came at almost 11am. I think that you can see how pissed we were while waiting for him.
