lovely beaches
by Aurorae
All the beaches are sandy, with the beach beds, canopy cane umbrellas and private, each hotel has its own beach, and you can't go there unless you are a guest of the hotel. At some beaches you can go if you pay, although you are not a guest of the hotel. Private villas have their own beaches as well. And it is not allowed for the locals to come to the beaches, unless they are guests, of course.

Nightlife
by TomorrowsAngel about Papa's Bars
We hung out one night at Papa's II in downtown Hurghada. They apparently feature live music sometimes, the night we were there are DJ was selecting the tunes. They serve meals and bar snacks, we didn;t try anything, but the menu looked extensive and reasonably priced.
There is also Papa's Bar and Papa's Beach Club. At Papa's Bar and Papa's II you can pick up a free entrance pass to the beach club.
There were some good drinks specials aimed at groups - 8 Tequila shots for LE170, 12 single of spirits plus mixers for LE 110 etc. And you can also order beer by the metre!
It was a great bar but after a hard days quad biking we left around 0100, the crowd had thinned out around midnight, guess everyone wanted to get a few winks before the next day's activities. There was no dress code - everything from bikini tops and boardshorts to formal evening wear seemed to get in.
yummy!!!

Here you can get anything you like for a great price, it's very tasty and yummy restaurant, very clean and lovely, the bad thing is - I forgot its name! :((( I'll try to remember! It is in the pure center, and you can't miss it, also because it's very popular. P.S. Palmistry reading is not part of the service!!! :)
Snorkelling/Diving
by MattTB
Well, there is some VERY colourful snorkelling and diving to be had here! The reefs are more colourful than the Maldives as the corals are still alive! The Maldives corals died thanks to El Nino a few years ago.
Take a snorkel and mask and you will be amazed! The house reef at the Le Meridiene Makadi Bay, was quite good actually, surprisin as it was a big hotel and there were lots of kids messing around etc. But I saw many things including a Giant Moray Eel! That was a beast over 2 meters long! You can see it swimming here!
