Can anyone please help me?
i am travelling to Marsa Alam on the 20th December and have just been advised tranfers are not included, to add them through my agent it would be £160 which is far too much, does anyone know if taxis are readily available at the airport?
If yes how much should we be prepared to pay roughly?
Any info would be much appreciated as cannot seem to find any sites that can help me.

How many are travelling?
Transfer time from the airport is around 40 minutes and I find that amount excessively high for transfers for that distance in Egypt. At the very least, you should get a good quality, private car for that.
As a comparison, there is a website call www.holidaytaxis.com where you can pre-book transfers. They don't offer Marsa Alam but Sharm el Sheikh airport to Dahab costs £187 but that has a transfer time of 1 hour 10 minutes so it's a lot further.
The problem is that Marsa Alam is still a fairly small, quiet resort so your choices may be limited. Had you already booked and paid for your holiday before they mentioned transfers ? If they only told you about the extra charge after you'd paid for it, I think you've definitely got a case for a complaint.

I'm there the same day (Thomson flight?) and the hotel (Abo Nawas) offer transfers for 40 Euros each way (aboit £25) - just have to e-mail the hotel so perhaps that is the best way
