Nice hotel, grounds, outdoor pool. Good selection of restaurants. Close to the airport with shuttle service and visa/passport assistance really good for first time visitors. Most of the attractions like pyramids, Khan El Khalili bazaar, nile cruises are 20-30 min away. Suggestion: arrange a private tour guide & driver - I used Spendid Travel, and guide Hossam Ahmed (sonnadumpling@yahoo.com) was very knowledgable, professional and gave a great tour of pyramids and Cairo Museum.

Excellent hotel in many respects. However, guys at the desk labelled "Concierge" not very knowledgeable (nor very well-versed in English).
Unique Quality: Food at the Vienna Cafe was mediocre (and that goes for the appetizer, the soup and the main course; my choice of dessert was not available and maybe that was a good thing).

I have spent a lot of time in this hotel and I cannot complain about the conditions. Good restaurants, nice swiming pool, oriental interior decorations and very kind people.

This is a modern hotel located in the heart of Cairo. They are great for business and relaxation. The hotel has tons of restaurants, serving food from every corner of the globe. If you are looking for a modern, large hotel, this is a great choice.
Unique Quality: The restaurant selection is amazing, there are tons of restaurants serving international food. From British and Australian Steak Houses to Lebanese grills there is an excellent selection.

While I was there I stayed in the Sheraton Heliopolis. It is/was a gorgeous hotel. The Egyptians loved to have their weddings there. However it is outside the city in the Heliopolis district, closer to the airport. Make sure you request a hotel in town.
The Mena House is incredible. I had drinks there one evening with friends. That is old colonial Egypt at it's best.
I stayed in a suite for $300 a night. Rooms are about $70. Clean, Great restaurants, shops, pools, rooms, service
