I went there for a business meeting and lunch on my many travels into Cairo. Very elegant as soon as you walk in, with the huge vases of exotic flowers. Actually felt like I was among the elite of the international world, which was a strange feeling. The staff are very, very friendly (being a Four Seasons, I'm sure they were told to be so). The steak house upstairs is quite nice, probably one of the best steaks I dared to eat whilst in Cairo. Quite pricey, but you're paying for corporate quality. The air of the place is quite pretentious though (again, corporate quality), filled with rich people pretending to be somebody, and even if they were, they weren't hiding it.
The views of the Nile are amazing, but I prefer those in the Grand Hyatt, which is just opposite. I wouldn't suggest driving to this hotel during the day - as anyone in Cairo will know, the traffic is a nightmare, and I'm quite sure I've seen my life flash before my eyes quite a few times. I would really suggest this hotel for those who want to experience Cairo in style. If luxury is really not your thing, then avoid this hotel like tapped water in the city. | | | | Four Seasons Cairo Nile Plaza: Other hotels might be better | Satisfaction: | | | | |
My partner and I stayed in the Four Seasons Nile Plaza for 2 nights as a romantic setting, having the (package) Premier Nile room in the 33rd floor. The room was tastefully done, without any extraneous quality to it. As one can expect from a luxury hotel, almost everything was "high class:" marble bathroom floors and sink, Egyptian towels, luxurious bed spreads, and fantastic window views. I ordered a box of chocolate and it came promptly, complete with a ribbon around the box. We were busy exploring Cairo and its environs that we didn't get the chance to use its swimming pool or gym. Everything was great except that, after comparing the hotel to Hyatt and Intercontinental (we most often stay in those two hotel chains) we felt like we paid a higher price just for the name (regular CRT TV, no other special amenities.) I always wanted to treat my partner for a stay in a Four Seasons Hotel. Now at least it's done. If you wanted to stay in a Four Seasons Hotel for the first time, I'd suggest doing it in a tropical setting (Four Seasons seem to excel at it).
The Nile view was spectacular, especially at night. We were high enough that we could see a great length of the Nile River. Hiring one of their Mercedes-Benz cars for limo service was quick and easy to set up. | | | | Four Seasons Cairo Nile Plaza: The Best of the Best... world class 5 stars | Satisfaction: | | | | |
Ok, after trying to save some $$$ at the Mariott (read my other hotel tip) I got fed up and check out and asked to be taken here to The Four Seasons at Nile Plaza......wow what a world of change....from the minute you walk in, you know your in elite company...the lobby is perfectly designed, there isn't 10,000 people in the lobby, the air is clean. Everyone greets you with a smile. We asked for a room on the executive floor, A room with a king bed was not available but they offered to sqeeze 2 very large double beds together to make a SUPER KING and we took the offer. Our room had a seperate living room and very nice and clean bathroom. To access the floor you must place the room key into the elevator slot and only the floor you are on will be allowed access too. Security is huge here, cars approaching the hotel are asked to turn there engines off, open the trunk as 2 dogs sniff the sides and an armed guard check with a mirror for expolsives. Once at the top of the drive way guest must pass thru a metal detector and place bags into a x-ray machine like those similar to an airport. Everything was perfect here, the rooms, the staff, the REAL conceirge, everything.... Only down side pricey isn't the word....VERY EXPENSIVE !!!!!!!! we paid $325 US dollars a night plus 25% TAX !!!!! WOW !!!!!! almost $400 US a night !!!!!!! But that was my fault for trying to be cheap we ended up paying with our time and comfort...... well worth the $400 a night would do it again NO PROBLEM !!!! Is this the best hotel in Cairo ???? Could be ????? Or is it the other Four Seasons in Giza ???? but plain and simple can't go wrong with the FOUR SEASONS HOTELS, if you can afford it don't hesitate !!!!!!!
