A Nice Peaceful Haven
I had heard a 5 star hotel is often not in Cairo ,so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
Security is pretty tight and everything and everyone is screened at the Hotel entrance but once inside we see the huge marble lobby with lots of crystal.
There are seven restaurants with live music around the largest pool I have ever seen . Nice Breakfast buffet, King sized bed , hair dryer and AC. There are quite a few shops , a bank, ATM and Internet in the lobby.
This Hotel is located in Giza so not a place you can easily walk to shopping or restaurants but for us it is perfect as by the end of our full day touring we were content to stay put. Its also a good value

nice but noisy
Beautiful Hotel - wonderful room - great plentiful food. Until 12:30 AM when the all night wedding party began. The music was so loud the pictures rattled and the bed vibrated. There was no escaping the noise and the calls to the desk said it was out of their control??? No one in our tour group slept after the party began. Unbelievable that with a party of that size and volume they would even book any other guest. Moral of this story: If you see signs of a wedding don't hesitate - RUN to another hotel.

Great Location Near Giza Pyramids
The hotel is very well maintained although it does appear to be a bit older. My room was well-furnished with a decent bathroom with a bathtub shower.
The hotel grounds are extensive so it did take about five minutes to walk from the room to the lobby. But you don't really mind because the walk is through nicely designed green gardens and a large pool area.
The concierge staff was excellent. They arranged both a vehicle and certified Egyptologist for me to take daily tours. When I had an issue with one of the vehicle drivers, they quickly replaced the driver the next day with a better one.
If I went back to Cairo for a visit, I'd definitely stay at Pyramids Park Resort again!
Unique Quality: The hotel is located very close to the Pyramids of Giza. If you are visiting to see the pyramids, why stay far away?! You can be at the biggest historical sites in Cairo within minutes from the hotel. On the flip-side, the airport is approximately 30-45 minutes away and it costs around US$15-20. But it's way better to spend less time getting to your tour sites!
So, how close??? Well, the Giza Pyramids are just 2.5km (1.5Mi) from the hotel and the Step Pyramids are only 10km (6.2Mi) away. Downtown Cairo is around 15kms but there is golf, shopping, and other activities located very close. It's also easy to get downtown from the hotel on what I guess is a freeway.
There is wireless internet available and the best place to pick up a signal is near the pool or in the lobby.
I can't mention enough about how great the concierge staff was...they arranged a vehicle to pick me up at the time of my choice and I told them where I wanted to go on the tours each day. The tour guide that they arranged for me was a certified Egyptologist studying for a doctoral degree and spoke excellent English. You'd think that having a private vehicle and tour guide would be expensive but at just around US$50 a day, I thought it was well worth the cost and much better than taking a bus tour!

An Oasis facing the Pyramids
Wow! What a place. The word which best describes the hotel is "Deluxe". The rooms were amazing, enormous, spotless... Breakfast... the widest variety I've ever seen. I remember having breakfast at 7 a.m and not eating anything else till dinner. Imagine. The swimming pool... I'd call it a lake. It was one of the biggest ever. It's a luxurious oasis lost in busy Cairo.
Unique Quality: Live cooking at breakfast. There was a French cook preparing omelettes, goffres, etc for you. You just had to choose the ingredients and voilà, ready to eat.
The spa...mmm...imagine, relaxing in a jacuzzi after spending the whole day visiting Cairo and its wonders. What about a massage...or a sauna... out of this world!!

I stayed at Pyramids Park...

I stayed at Pyramids Park Hotel, located in Giza. It is a 4 stars hotel. The service is great and the food is ok.
Has a very large swiminig pool where you can relax during the hot afternoons.
The rooms have a good size and all has great views, and some over the pyramids.
If you happen to be in any hotel in egypt and is a wedding reception, pls do not miss it for the world. You will enjoy their hospitality, food and arab exotic dancers.
Great Location
by rcsparty about Intercontinental Pyramid Park
One of the things that was so impressive with this hotel, was the selection of restaurants. The main buffet cafeteria had great food, but they also had a number of theme restaurants scattered throughout the hotel. Also, attached was a nightclub, which was fun on the one night we stopped after our tour. The bartendar's in the lobby bar are outstanding. We had a fantastic time talking with them over beers. The rooms were also nice and a fairly good size. The pool was closed, as we visited in February, but it looked very impressive.
The hotel was conveniently located to visit the pyramids.

Transportation from Alexandria to Cairo
by Narunj
Hi,
I'll be staying in Helnan Palestine Montazah hotel in Alex. Can anyone advise which train station I should choose to travel from Alex to Cairo? Also, in which station in Cairo should I take off, so to be the nearest to the Intercontinental Pyramids Park Resort (2.5km from the pyramids)?
Lots of thanks in advance,
Narunj

Thanks for your reply.
I visited both of the websites, and unfortunately none of the contains info about the train stations that should be chosen. I do hope to get advise from the local hotel, if I don't get any on VT.
Best,
Narunj

The Sidi Bishr Station will be the closest to Montaza. However, you should note that all announcements are in Arabic and whenever a train pulls into the platform, general mayhem normally ensues! You only have about five minutes to make sure that it is the train you want AND squeeze through the door before the train sets off again. If any of this worries you, you may find it easier to go to the main station where you can board the train about half an hour before it leaves. As for stations in Cairo - I'd think you'd want to get off at Giza - but am really not sure about that!
