The welcome given by the staff at this hotel was excellent. We were offered a cold drink when we arrived, which was very well received in the heat.

I say Survival Compound, good price, great location because I was ripped off upon arrival. I had been charged $82 a night when I booked the room for 2 in the us. We picked up a third traveler before arrival. For a roll away bed I was charged $53!!!!!!!! a night!!!!!!!!!! for a roll away!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, be sure of things before you invite anyone into your room.
As for the actual hotel, it was pretty good and in a great location. It was one of the only places I felt safe the entire trip. It was like a compound with a 9ft. wall around the property like most hotels in Giza and several security guards. The hotel had three restaurants and small bar. We hired a driver for $35 a day to take us wherever we wanted to go. It was necessary for us because we were the only people at the hotel not with a tour group (yes I felt crazy lame). But bottom line Cairo is not safe and if I had it to do over I would have done almost the same thing including staying at a hotel like Oasis.
We had a great time at this hotel. It was clean, nice and safe. Good service and nice rooms. We can absolutely recommend this hotel to other, both family and couples.
Unique Quality: The hotel is located near the pyramids of Giza and has: pool, restaurants, nightclub, healthspa. Big, clean and nice rooms, laundry service and wonderful employees. You are staying in bungalows, which gives you some privacy.
The hotel has a schuttlebus going in to center of Cairo 8 times a day, and its free. It drops you of at the Egyptian Museum and that is also your pick-up place.

The welcome given by the staff at this hotel was excellent. We were offered a cold drink when we arrived, which was very well received in the heat.
The pool was an added bonus, and was kept very clean & well looked after. Towels are provided at poolside. There is also an outside bar nearby and plenty of sun lounges to relax on.
This hotel lived up to it's name for us - the quality of accommodation, food & service in general was much higher than we expected. The contrast from the bustling, crowded city was dramatic. It felt more like we were staying in a resort somewhere remote than just 5 or so minutes from the centre of Cairo. Exquisite service - loved the hibiscus drink we were given on arrival!
The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and private. However, most rooms only offered 2 single beds, even for couples.
Hotel Oasis in Giza, Cairo is a nice four star property with row house type rooms. The rooms are quite large and the bathrooms are clean and large too. The facilities in the rooms include digital safe, colour TV and fridge but no tea or coffee machines. The breakfast spread was good and had a lot of different varieties to choose from. The location is a bit far away from the restaurants and shops so it was a bit difficult to get to on your own but we did not have a problem since we were using our private coach for the package tour.
We choose this hotel because everything was on the ground floor. My wife who has difficulty walking had no problems at all. The hotel staff were very friendly when needed and any complaint e.g. television not working was rectified immediately. The hotel was really tranquil, rooms were large as was the bathroom. My two teenage children loved the swimming pool which was well supervised.Meals were all well cooked with good Italian food as well as more local dishes on offer.
Travel to the city was easy with good taxis at the hotel. We hired a driver to take us to the Souk and afterwards he took us on a guided tour of the places in Cairo that we had not seen. For longer expeditions we hired a minivan with driver and guide (Egyptian History specialist) from Osaris Travel in Cairo. They also organised an overnight train journey to Luxor with driver, guide and minivan waiting to take us around the sites in Luxor. It gave the holiday a real adventurous feel as did our trip to Sakkara which is definately a must
we have just returned from a trip to egypt.thanks to tripadvisor and their contributers we were able to plan our trip staying in some of the finiest hotels within our budget.the oasis was the first and last hotel on our 3 week adventure.it truly is an oasis set slightly away from the maddness that is the centre of cairo, passing the pyramids on the free bus whenever you want to go into the center.the staff and service was never anything less than exceptional.be ready for baksheesh"sharing the wealth".e£10=£1approx.we wish the swimming pool had been heated but apart from that we had the happiest holiday which made us smile.the egyptians commented often about how smiley and happy we were.
We stayed in this hotel for only $52 per night for a double room.
For that price it was an amazing deal.
The rooms are huge and so are the bathrooms.
It is very clean and all the rooms are on ground floor surrounded by small gardens.
The breakfast is okay, there is a lot to choose from.
The hotel has a free shuttle that goes to downtown.
However, the service at the reception is pretty bad. Without going into details, they will pretty much ignore you if you don't push them into doing something
And the beds are way too soft, so soft that you wake up several times during the night.
Overall, I would definitely come back here. Because it's definitely worth the price.
